Council Report for March, April and May 2019: Council continues to meet regularly to discuss the affairs of our church. The following are some highlights of the meetings of the past 3 months:--Council has spent much time with the matter of calling a new pastor to serve in our congregation and is delight-ed that Pastor Gregg Lawson and his wife Laurie will be moving to Williamsburg at the end of July and that Pastor Gregg will begin ministry in the Williamsburg CRC. Coun-cil is grateful for the three interim pastors who served our congregation during the last two years—Pastor George Holthof, Pastor Syl Esteves and Pastor Bernie Bakker. We thank God for their dedication, for faithfully proclaiming the Word and for all the visits they made.--Council is also thankful that a new treasurer has been found for our church. Eva Reitsma has agreed to fill this position and we thank Renny Van Gilst for his many years of service. More details about this transition will be com-municated soon.--For the past 8 years at the annual church picnic/potluck in June, council has celebrated the special gifts of time, energy or talents of a few members of the congregation. Although there are still many members sharing their gifts, this practice has been discontinued. However, council en-courages all members of the congregation to show grati-tude to others when they share their gifts with the congre-gation.--Council spent much time discussing the new method of choosing office-bearers and is pleased that new elders and deacons have been chosen. We pray that God will give these men strength and wisdom for their new tasks and that our congregation will be blessed by them.--One of our members, Erin De Jong, has lived and stud-ied in Fredericton, NB, for some time already. She attends Christ Central Church there. Council prays that she will be a blessing to that congregation and that she will be blessed by them.

Song of the MonthIn June we'll be learning 879 "Lord of all Good". It's an older tune with powerful words that reflect what our response should be in light of the Holy Spirit living in our hearts.

Verse of the Month - "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3:17.
