’AM:

PM: Evening Worship & Celebrate Recovery (Hamstra)

We come to this time of the year where much is made about giving thanks. The Bible is filled with many passages from cover to cover that command us to give thanks in all circumstances. Thankfulness should be a way of life for us, not just at this time of the year. As we realize how much we have been given as the people of God, our natural response should be one of thankfulness. At the root of our attitude is the firm belief that it is only right to credit God for every good and perfect gift because it came from Him. Our focus is placed on Him and away from ourselves. We come to an understanding that God is in control. So, thankfulness is not only appropriate because it gives credit to God, but it is also healthy and beneficial for us. As we remember that we belong

to God and receive His many blessings, our gratefulness is proper and fitting. Gratitude is a choice. It is an invitation from God Himself for us to draw close to Him. Praise Him. Thank Him. Enter into His presence with a grateful heart. As we do, I know the best is yet to come.

Prove the Tithe Sunday For the last several years, we have taken the Sunday before Thanksgiving to give a special offering unto the Lord to say “Thank You, Jesus.” God is clear in His Word when He says, ““Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! “But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’ “You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me.”” The Lord continues saying, “Bring all the tithes

into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!” I am asking you to prayerfully consider putting God to this test by bringing your tithes and additional offerings unto the Lord this coming Sunday. As you pray to God, may He guide your decision with your gift being a sacrificial gift that would be pleasing unto Him. As we are cheerful in our giving allowing God to use us to fund the ministry of His Church, may God bless us and use us as His people.
