St. Anne's Parish Bulletin - May 31st, 2015 Trinity Sunday 1st Reading: Duet. 4:32-34, 39-40. Moses reminds the people that the great God of heaven and earth has entered into a close and loving relationship with them. They should respond by doing his will. 2nd Reading: Romans. 8:14-17. By the fact that the Holy Spirit dwells within us, we become children of the Father, and co-heirs with Christ his Son. Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20. This contains the final instructions of Jesus to his apostles. Gospel Challenge: let God's light shine through. "As disciples, we are earthen vessels that contain the glory of God. Through us the life of Jesus is revealed, a life that is true to traditions yet bold in its fidelity. When we put people in need first, , we could put ourselves in opposition to the status quo, to a "me first" attitude of a consumerist society. We may have to forgo convenience so that others have necessities. As difficult as this may be, as weak in these matters as we find ourselves, the power of God takes hold of us and the glory of God shines forth from us, and we can accomplish great things in Christ's name." (taken from "Preaching the New Lectionary" by D Bergant) PASTOR'S LOG FOR MAY 23-30: - Parish Finances: Sunday Offerings, $ 309.50 - First Communion - children make their 1st Holy Communion in their home parish, not in the School they attend. If any from our parish missed out, we will have another 1st Communion celebration at St. Anne's at the June 7 Mass. Confirmation Celebration - there will be a preparation session next Sunday, 11:15 am for those being Confirmed by Bishop Colli on June 21. WEEKEND PARISH MINISTRY SCHEDULE May., 30 Sat -- Reader - Bob Carroll; Lucy Day; Edith Hoshizaki; May. 31, Sun., - Readers -1. Gail Roussin. 2.
