Tenniel shared some of their experiences of the day and those leading up to the big day with Centralian Advocate journalist Corey Sinclair. What day did you get married? We got married on March 31, which was a Saturday. Where did he propose? He proposed at the speedway. His uncle has a memorial grandstand there. Ryan told me he had to go out and do a job there, so we went out and he asked me to marry him. How long were you engaged? Good question, I think it was a year — or a bit longer. How did you find preparing the wedding? It wasn’t too bad. Usually you go to your mum whereas my mum has never been married so I’d ask her and she’d be like ‘‘I don’t know’’. But I just got heaps of magazines and looked at the internet. Where did you buy your wed- ding stuff? We got my dress and accessories, veil and a bracelet from Bliss, and we bought the suits from Rusty Zipper. What did you do for your hen’s/buck’s night? My hen’s night was at Ryan’s mum’s place, and we just had food and played silly games and then went into town. We had a great night. Ryan started at the pub hav- ing drinks with the blokes and ended up breaking his elbow — three days before the wedding. Did you have any hiccups on the day? On the day, Ryan had to get his cast cut off in the morning so he could wear the suit. And we went to take photos on the Finke track, but got a flat tyre on the way back into town. Where was the wedding held? The ceremony was held at the Old Telegraph Station, and the reception was at the Crowne Plaza. What did you do the night before the wedding? My mother, my bridal party and I spent the night at the Crowne Plaza. What traditions did you em- brace? I did the something old, some- thing blue one — and we spent the night before apart. How much did it cost? The wedding cost about $25,000.
