What will this post talk about:

The Process of Wedding Ceremony, Other Things you

can do After Wedding

Page 3: Wedding ceremony and its process

Are you familiar with the phrase “Till death do us part.”? Well you can usually hear this in a wedding

ceremony. Basically a wedding is a ceremony where two people are united by marriage and that two

people vow to spend their lives together. So how do people get to this state? You can notice that most

couple will eventually come to this point where they will decide to stay with each other forever. There are

people who have a successful marriage life while some don’t. But basically this is a turning in your life, so be sure to think it over and over before deciding to do this event with your partner.

Page 4: Wedding ceremony and its process

A wedding ceremony can also be a way to show the financial status of each couple. Why? Well basically not all couple can afford being married in a church. So basically this is also a proof that you can support your partner and give her a good life. Well it’s true that you need to spend some penny to make the

ceremony, but you don’t actually have to spend so much with it. You can notice that most of them spend a lot. Why? It’s human nature, since this

event is only once in a lifetime with your partner they prefer to do it in a grand way.

Page 5: Wedding ceremony and its process

A wedding event can be a very stressful thing to plan, if you don’t want to experience ruining your wedding with stress then hire someone that can help you. Actually this is most people do;

they hire a professional event management provider for their wedding. You can look for Bespoke Social for this kind of thing

and look for their service.

Now beside the fact about life after wedding, do you know the process of a wedding ceremony? Well not all people know this but there are many ways on how people process a wedding.

But there are also some parts where they have the same part.

What are they?

Page 6: Wedding ceremony and its process

The Gathering

Well this is the part where all participants will gather. Yes! Basically that is why it is called The Gathering. There are also events that are taken before the wedding ceremony. What are they? Well I know you are familiar with them, one of the event is the Picture taking. This is a common thing that participants are doing; we

know that our time today picture has a lot of purpose now. Mainly this serves as a memory of the event. Another is the attire, all

participants is required to wear the dress code. Most wedding are formal so the basic dress is gown and coats.

Are you familiar with the prelude? This is usually a musical solo played by a musician before the ceremony starts. The last thing is the lighting of candle, they usually light the candles before the

guest arrive and sometimes they light them together with the prelude.

Here comes the processional, how will it be done? There are different ways, but we will be talking about Christian wedding here so here.

Basically the first thing is the seating of the parents, well this includes the grandparents. For most people having the

involvement of the parents and the grandparents means a blessing to the couple. The processional music will be played and begins the seating of the guest. First is the groom’s grandmother,

bride’s grandmother, groom’s parents and bride’s mother.

After seating of the parents, the bridal processional begins. So to be short here is the procedure, first is the minister and groom then

the bridesmaid and after that the maid or matron of honor enters and finally are the flower girl and ring bearer. Then the wedding

march begins. This is where the bride and her father enter and the bride’s mother will stand which also means that all guests will

stand or sometimes the minister will tell so.

The Opening Remarks

Well you can usually hear this every time when you are in a wedding. But as for the details, here is an

example of opening remarks or call to worship.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here in the sight of God, and in the presence of these witnesses, to join

together this man and this woman in holy matrimony; which is an honorable estate, instituted of God. It is therefore, not to be entered into unadvisedly, but

reverently, discreetly, and in the fear of God. Into this holy estate these two persons come now to be

joined.”Source: http://abt.cm/blgnbk

Opening Prayer

Well we know how important a prayer is especially with this event. The opening prayer also means that you are asking for God’s presence

and blessing to be upon the service which is about to begin.

Here’s a sample of an opening prayer:

“God, for the joy of this occasion we thank you. For the significance of this wedding day we thank you. For this important moment in an ever growing relationship we thank you. For your presence here

and now and for your presence at all times, we thank you. In Christ's holy name. Amen. “

After the opening prayer the congregation is asked to be seated.

Giving away the bride

Well if you still remember, this is a tradition where the women’s were their father’s property until they got married and became their husband’s property. The

bride is literally given away in exchange for the bride price or what they call dowry. But today this is not usually done. But giving away the bride can still be

important to show respect and honor to their parents.

Here is an example of the “Giving away of the Bride”:Who presents this woman and this man to be married to

each other? • Both sets of parents answer in unison, "I do" or "We

do."Source: http://abt.cm/15CTzW4

Charge of the Couple

Here is an example of charge of the couple:I charge you both, as you stand in God's

presence, to remember that love and loyalty alone will serve as the foundations of a

happy and enduring home. If the solemn vows which you are about to make are kept permanently, and if you steadfastly seek to do the will of your Heavenly Father, your life will be full of peace and joy, and the home

which you are establishing will abide through every change.

The Pledge

This is also known as Betrothal and this is where the couple declares to the guest and witness that they have come of their own free will and is

willing to be married.

Here are sample of the Pledge:____, will you have ____ to be your (wife/husband), to

live together as friend and mate? Will you love (her/him) as a person, respect (her/him) as an

equal, sharing joy as well as sorrow, triumph as well as defeat. And keep (her/him) beside you as

long as you both shall live?Source: http://abt.cm/1aoqY5X

Wedding Vows

This is one of the most noticeable parts of the ceremony; this is where the two couple faces each other to say their wedding vows. Basically they make a promise

publicly and before God that they will take care of each other and help each other grow in becoming what God has created them to be. This is also a sacred vow which

expresses the entrance into a covenant relationship.

Here is a sample of Wedding Vows: I love you ___ as I love no other. All that I am I share with

you. I take you to be my (husband/wife) through health and sickness, through plenty and want, through joy and

sorrow, now and forever.Source: http://abt.cm/QCL1dk

Exchange of Rings

This is where the two couple is exchanging rings which means promise of

faithfulness to each other. Just like the shape of the ring which means unending symbol of eternity. Basically this is also like a symbol of promise to each other

which regard to the wedding vows. Wearing the ring means that you are

committed and faithful to your partner.

Page 15: Wedding ceremony and its process

The Pronouncement

This is where you usually hear the phrase “I know pronounce you husband and wife”. Basically this is

where they pronounce the couple as husband and wife.

Here is an example of the pronouncement:Now that ____ and ____ have given themselves to each

other by the promises they have exchanged, I pronounce them to be husband and wife, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

AmenSource: http://abt.cm/Hv6oTR

The Kiss

This is exciting part where the couple kiss in front of all the witness. The Minister

makes it official by saying “You may now kiss the bride” and followed by “It is now my privilege to introduce to you for the

first time, Mr. and Mrs. __.”

Page 17: Wedding ceremony and its process

Recessional

This is the opposite of the processional; this is where the wedding exits the platform.

Typically they exit in this order: Bride and Groom, Maid or Matron of Honor and Best Man, Bridesmaid and Groomsmen,

Flower Girl and Ring Bearer.

Other Things you can do After the Wedding

Page 19: Wedding ceremony and its process

So now you know the Basic Process of a Wedding Ceremony. Now what’s next after

the Ceremony? Mainly there are also different things or event you can do after

this. But the most basic thing to do is going to the reception after the wedding.

What is the reception? Basically this is where all guests including the new married couple are doing the after

wedding party. This includes the food and beverages that the couple prepared for

their guest.

Page 20: Wedding ceremony and its process

So what other things the newly married couples do? With our time today, there is some couple who

decide to build a wedding website which contains all the details about their wedding. It also contains
