    Whatever vision you have for your wedding day, the team at the Canberra Southern Cross Yacht Club is ready to assist you to create the perfect day. We’d be delighted to show you our beautifully appointed facilities on the waters-edge of Lake Burley Griffin.

    You may wish to consider holding your reception in our exquisite Lakeside Marquee. Situated only 30 metres from the edge of the lake, the Lakeside Marquee has unimpeded views of the water with a beautiful silk-lined ceiling. It’s perfect for receptions catering for up to 100 guests including dancing, and 150 for a cocktail wedding reception.

    Another great option is to hold your wedding aboard the fully enclosed and air conditioned MV Southern Cross which is ideal for a cocktail wedding reception, sit-down dinner or wedding buffet, while enjoying the picturesque views of the lake.

    For a more intimate wedding reception, our Lotus Room features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake, an in-house music system, PA and a seating capacity of 50 – perfect for a smaller reception.

    At the Southern Cross Yacht Club, you can choose from an extensive range of affordable wedding packages, or if you prefer, my team can work with you to tailor a menu that reflects your personal taste and style, from ocean-fresh seafood to decadent desserts. Our Executive Chef can also cater for special dietary requirements including gluten-free, diabetic, allergy and religious and lifestyle choices.

    Your wedding day will be one of the most memorable events in your life, so it’s important that you entrust the arrangements to people who are experienced and more importantly, passionate about making your day a huge success – and that’s us!

  • Dietary Choices We suggest your invitation includes a simple request that your invitees inform you of their particular dietary needs when they RSVP. Once we have this information we will endeavour to provide a suitable cuisine.

    Gluten Free: Many of our meals featured in this package are gluten free or can easily be adapted. Please ensure you discuss this requirement with the events sales team.

    Diabetic: The requirements of diabetics vary depending on the type and severity of the individual’s case. The most vital aspect of a diabetic diet is timing. A diabetic must carefully consider how much food is entering their system at what time. For this reason timing of the overall function can be critical for a diabetic. Additionally, meals must feature a low level of sugar. Consider ordering a fruit platter for a diabetic dessert.

    Nuts and Nut Oils: The Canberra Southern Cross Yacht Club does not use peanut oil as an ingredient in any of our meals. Some products we use may contain nut oils and it is vital that any guest allergic to nuts and nut products bring this to our attention as early as possible.

    Religious and Lifestyle Choices: Our Chefs have many years experience at catering to a large number of varied dietary styles. We are confident that we can provide special meals given sufficient notice.

    All menu and hire rates are quoted based on a minimum of 30 adults for the Lotus Room and Wardroom, a

    minimum of 50 adults for the Lakeside Marquee, and a minimum of 40 adults for MV Southern Cross.

    Room Rates and Capacities

    YACHT CLUB

    Yacht Club Restaurant from May to August requires a minimum spend of $10,000. September to April (Monday to Thursday) a minimum spend of $10,000 is required. September to April (Friday to Sunday) a minimum spend of $15,000 is required.

    Lakeside Marquee has a minimum spend of $3,500 on a Friday or Saturday. A surcharge will apply for groups with less than the minimum number.

    Yacht Club Balcony requires a minimum spend of $2,000.
