Dedicated preceptors Preceptors provide direct patient care in many specialty areas and are actively involved in resident teaching and other scholarly activities. Name:    Deidra  Garrett,  Pharm.D,  BCNSP  Education:  Pharm.D,  University  of  Georgia,  Athens,  GA    Preceptor  for:    Nutrition  Support  Rotation  Description:  Nutrition  Support  rotation  is  a  4-­‐5  week  experience  designed  to  develop  skills  and  competencies  in  the  provision  of  therapy  for  patient’s  requiring  specialized  nutrition  support.  The  scope  of  patient’s  will  include  early  adult  to  geriatric  and  include  both  floor  and  ICU  patients.  The  goal  of  the  rotation  is  to  train  the  pharmacy  resident  to  function  as  a  Nutrition  Support  Pharmacist.  This  will  be  accomplished  through  readings,  preceptor  lectures,  participating  in  the  collection  of  patient  specific  data,  assessing  for  progress  toward  goals,  and  adjusting  formulations  as  needed  to  provide  optimal  nutrition  support.  Email:    [email protected]
