DevOps Foundation Course

CHALLENGE: A newly built devops team needed a way to ensure they all shared a common understanding of

devops’ purpose and principles

Recommendations & Benefits

• During the course the customer experienced an outage and invited the tutor to attend the war-room. The incident had been caused by a known defect that had been passed downstream – we discussed this as part of the overall training

• We also observed how the culture at Haufe-umantis handled an incident and how devops demands blameless retrospectives and knowledge sharing

• A lot of discussion was had around why it’s not always possible or good to give developers access to productions systems and how there are other ways to collaborate to achieve the desired result of high-speed change

• All participants share a common vocabulary around The Three Ways, CI/CD/CDep and the relationships between Agile, Lean and ITSM in devops

• The team continue to evangelise devops principles and continue to build out their devops toolchain

• All of the team passed their exam and are now devops certified!

“Helen was great with her training here at Haufe-

umantis AG, we are a bottom-up company with a motto

Employees run Companies. More or less it matches very well with this article. Would like to thank Helen again for her training provided to us.”

Agron Fazliu,Head of DevOps
