Trusting in the mercy of God, let us confess our sin. Reconciling God, we confess that we do not trust your abundance, and we deny your presence in our lives. We place our hope in ourselves and rely on our own efforts. We fail to believe that you provide enough for all. We abuse your good creation for our own benefit. We fear difference and do not welcome or forgive others as you have welcomed and forgiven us. We sin in thought, word, and deed. By your grace, forgive us; through your love, renew us; and in your Spirit, lead us; so that we may live and serve you in newness of life. Amen. Beloved of God, by the radical abundance of divine mercy we have peace with God through Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained grace upon grace. Our sins are forgiven. Let us live now in hope - for hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Amen! Gathering Hymn: #412, Come, Join the Dance of Trinity

God of heaven and earth, before the foundation of the universe and the beginning of time you were, and are, and will be God: Author of creation, eternal Word of salvation, life-giving Spirit of wisdom. Guide us to all truth, that we may proclaim the love of Christ and rejoice in your glory. All praise to you: creator, redeemer, sustainer. Amen!

The Lesson: Matthew 28:16-2016 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had

directed them. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Message The sermon today is from our presiding national bishop, Elizabeth Eaton.

It’s being released on video during the week, and so I’m not able to have it printed here; however, we will be incorporating it into our worship video. Should you want to just watch the sermon, or read it, the video and links to the text can be found at:

Song of the Day: #408, Come, Thou Almighty Kinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amyx2KPwSpw

Apostles’ CreedI believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again;he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The PeacePeace seems to be in short supply in our nation at the moment. In particular, then,

this week, take a few moments to reach out to someone in your circle of friends, acquaintances, or family and share God’s peace with them. In this time of fear and

frustration, the peace of God still passes all understanding, and is needed more than ever. May God’s peace be with you.

The OfferingMany thanks to those who have sent offerings to the church in the last few weeks! If

you wish to and are able to, offerings can be mailed or dropped off at the church building through the mail slot. Again, thank you!

A table grace for the week:

Lord, bless this food, which nourishes our bodies.May the hearing of your word nourish our souls.

The PrayersCalled into unity with one another and the whole creation, let us pray for our shared world.

God of community, you form us as your church. Guide our leaders, and all the baptized, in sharing your life-giving good news with all the world. Strengthen us to be bold in our proclamation.

God of creation, you called everything into being. Sustain this world with your renewing care. Inspire us to see waterways, plants, birds, fish, insects, and mammals as neighbors and call them good, as you did at creation.

God of counsel, all authority belongs to you. Encourage the leaders of this and every land to seek peace, equality, and unity. Instill wisdom in advocates who work to benefit communities which have been abused or ignored. Be with those who speak out and demonstrate for justice, and be also with those who serve and protect people, communities, and livelihoods. Bless the peacemakers.

God of care, you created us – all of us – in your image. Help us see your likeness in one another. Open our eyes to see and attend to all who are suffering. Console, heal, and nourish all in need.

God of companionship, you accompany this body of faith. As the summer begins, protect all who travel, renew all who will enjoy a time of sabbath, and shelter all who will not be protected from the sun’s heat.

God of compassion, you comfort us in our grief with the promise of the resurrection. We give you thanks for the saints of all time and in our lives.

Receive these prayers, O God, and those which are too deep for words, as we boldly and confidently pray as Christ taught us:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

BenedictionNeither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

God, the creator, ☩ Jesus, the Christ, and the Holy Spirit, the comforter, bless you and keep you. Amen!
