JOB DESCRIPTION Title of Post: Finance Officer Salary Scale: £19k pro rata Hours of work: 15 hours per week (with an opportunity to increase hours in due course) Benefits: 24 days annual holiday + bank holidays pro rata Responsible to: Office Manager 1. Job Role: To provide an efficient and effective bookkeeping service following the charity’s financial policies, procedures and process. To provide general administrative support to the Spark Somerset team, as required. 2. Main Responsibilities: Undertake all bookkeeping, prepare and produce monthly management accounts. Produce and manage monthly payroll and related matters e.g. pension contributions. Assist with full statutory year end accounts. Carry out the necessary work for an independent examination report to be signed. Support the continual review and development of good financial systems (cash books, paper trails, computerised accounts, spreadsheets etc) and internal financial controls. Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required to further the charity’s aims. 3. General Requirements Participate in training and information briefings and maintain an up to date knowledge of voluntary sector. Attend supervision sessions and staff meetings.
