Slide 1

We Are His HandsDay 3:Hands Full of Potential

Opening PrayerIn the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You have given us many talents and gifts. Be with us today as we discover our gifts and learn how to use them to show Your love to others. In Your Name, Amen.

One NameOne name under heaven,Whereby we must be saved. (2x)

Forgiven of my sins, baptized in the water,Filled with the Holy GhostAnd washed by the blood of the Lamb. (2x)

Freed, truly freed, my friend,Freed by the blood of the Lamb. (2x)

Gods gonna move in this place.Gods gonna move in this place.Gods gonna turn this whole world upside down. (2x)TalentsWhat talent is each person known for?

Matthew 25:14-3014Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his masters money.

19After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. Master, he said, you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.21His master replied, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness!

22The man with the two talents also came. Master, he said, you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.

23His master replied, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness!

24Then the man who had received the one talent came. Master, he said, I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.

26His master replied, You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.28Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.TalentAccording to this parable, what is a talent?Did You Know? One talent was valued at roughly 17 years of wages.Today that would be worth $680,000!TalentsHow many years worth of wages would 2 talents be? (Hint: 1 talent = 17 years)

How many years worth of wages would 5 talents be?

Talents14Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

Who did the money belong to?Why did he give each servant a different amount of money?Small GroupIn your small group discuss what talents God has entrusted to you and how he expects you to use them.

What talents has God entrusted to you and how will you use them?

As you grow you will discover talents God has blessed you with.

He Who Began a Good Work in YouHe who began a good work in you,He who began a good work in youWill faithful to complete itHell be faithful to complete it;He who started the work will be faithfulTo complete it in you.1 Corinthians 12:1-61Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. 2You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, Jesus be cursed, and no one can say, Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.1 Corinthians 12:1-64There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

Where do spiritual gifts come from?

What does verses 4-6 tell us about spiritual gifts and service?

1 Peter 4:1010Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering Gods grace in its various forms.

Does God want us to do something with the talents and gifts which he has entrusted to us? What is it?

Saved By GraceChorus: Saved by grace. Through our faith. Saved by grace. Through our faith.

G-R-A-C-EWe will worship you faithfully. We will live eternally. He gave His life for you and for me.

Chorus: Saved by grace. Through our faith. Saved by grace. Amen.

ConfessionL: Let us make a confession of our sins.

C: Merciful Father, we poor sinners confess that we are guilty of our sins.
