The first discoveries of Homo erectus were made in Java late in the 19th century. Since then many fossils have come to light in Africa as well as Asia. Homo erectus seems to have evolved in Africa before spreading to other regions of the Old World. This occurred over a long period of time, during which the populationschanged relatively little.
The repeated graphical element in the poster series is the skull. It represents the fossil hominine. Skulls of Homo erectus, that have been found in Africa and Asia illuminate some freequently asked questions regarding “the missing link”. The discoveries of the skulls confirm the theory that we derived from the same place. We are family – regardless of nati0nality and skin color.
99 recognizable personalities from all over the world sit for my project. A series of posters aims at making people aware of the immense problems and inhumanity that follow in the wake of racism.
