Page 4: We all have relations

This is what God wants more than anything.

Page 5: We all have relations

What is our relationship with our Creator?

Page 6: We all have relations

First let’s use the vowels to examine.

…some wrong ideas about our relationship with God.

Page 7: We all have relations

A is for ATM Machine

These people think God is just there to give us things.

Page 8: We all have relations

E is for Energy

These people believe God is not a person, but rather, just a force in the universe.

Page 9: We all have relations

I is for IndifferentThese people have a hard time believing God cares or even sees what happens to us.

Page 10: We all have relations

O is for Ogre

These people Believe…

God is a big mean man in the sky who is just waiting to judge the Earth & punish the people for their sins.

Page 11: We all have relations

U is for Unknowable

These people think God is just a big mystery we can never comprehend.

Page 12: We all have relations

Sometimes Y (as in Why God?)

These people resent God for something they don’t understand.

Page 13: We all have relations

Most People Just Do This

Page 14: We all have relations

There are Three Right Ways to Relate to God

Page 15: We all have relations

What is our positional relationship to Christ?

The First is a Positional Relationship

Page 16: We all have relations
Page 17: We all have relations

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus.” Rom. 8:1

“Therefore, if anyone is IN Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”2 Cor. 5:17

"…we are IN Him that is true, even IN His Son Jesus Christ." 1 John 5:20

Page 18: We all have relations

The Second is a Legal

Relationship

Believers are not mere acquaintances, but are sons & daughters of God. His legal children!

Page 19: We all have relations

“… you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” …we are children of God, and if children, then heirs…” Rom. 8:15-17

“…‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Mat. 25:34

Page 21: We all have relations

The Third is aHeart

Relationship

No Longer Strangers

But FRIENDS

of God!

Page 22: We all have relations

“…Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God.” James 2:23

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

John 15:13

“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends…” John 15:15

Page 23: We all have relations

The Three Ways We Relate to God

Positional: Not Out but InLegal: Not Acquaintance

but Child & Heir Heart: Not Stranger but Friend

Page 24: We all have relations

Finally, The suffix, ‘ship’ means, ‘to continue’

Once we begin a relation‘ship’ with God, we must continue relating.

Ships are made to go forward. .

Page 25: We all have relations

“…continue in the faith grounded and settled… not moved away from the hope of the gospel…” Col. 1:23

Page 26: We all have relations

What is the Sinner‘s Prayer? This is a prayer we can

pray when we are ready to admit we are sinners and need Christ’s forgiveness.

It must be prayed with faith in our hearts and a readiness to have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.

Page 27: We all have relations

You Should Pray this Prayer If : If you never have before You have in the past, but you think you

would mean it more today You have been walking afar off and you

want to come back You want to set an example and show

others how it is done You just like to give your heart to Jesus

again & again

Page 28: We all have relations
Page 29: We all have relations

Do you want to meet Jesus as your savior right now?

Do you believe He died to save you from your sins & that He rose from the dead?

Do you believe that He is waiting to save you right now?

Dear Jesus, I know I am a

sinner & need your forgiveness.

I believe you died for my sins.

I now turn from sin.

Come into my heart I pray.

Page 30: We all have relations

“But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

Page 31: We all have relations
Page 32: We all have relations

What did you learn today? How does this lesson

apply to our lives today? What do you want to say

about Jesus today?

“If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Rom. 10:9

Page 33: We all have relations

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you…

…Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you who are half-hearted towards God.” James 4:8 WNT
