SpecificationsAssuming PM Order is WCM relevant & all necessary WCM objects exist & linked, the following WCM objects are used:WC Application

Approval is mandatory & will be copied at the time the IFS is given to the corresponding WCD

WC Document: 2 distinct Approvals:

o APP_01 optional approval with no influence on the approval traffic light (manually added)

o IFS required approval, but can’t be entered at this level: will be automatically set when Tag operation is performed

The following screen can be reached by pressing while onto WCD management screen.

Simplified operation flow for tag/untag cycle (determined through ‘use of work clearance document’ value)

This will lead to a simplified tag/untag flow:

Maintenance Order Process

Phase 1: Order creationCreate order IW31 with WCM as a first operation

Then save. Then open the order again & proceed to the valuation process:

, select line & press yes

To finally have this screen:

4

Page 5: WCM Scenario

& save the order. This valuation step acceptance means we do agree to use WCM objects. While a ‘No’ would simply come back to the standard order process.

Phase 2: WC Application creationWCTK to create the WCA object, nothing special at this step.

Phase 3: WC Document creationWCT6 to create the WCD. Don’t forget to set 4 as a value for the use code in order to use simplified operational cycle.

5

Page 6: WCM Scenario

Use to enter Approval screen & add APP_01 Approval if needed.

6

Page 7: WCM Scenario

And select

After that, the optional APP_01 Approval can be granted by accessing this screen

(through the traffic light), selecting the appropriate line & using the

button; or simply use the column.

7

Page 8: WCM Scenario

Use then to enter maintenance screen for switching actions. Make sure it looks like this

Phase 4: Links creation

Modify the order, & use button to select relevant WC Application, and then save the order.

Modify the WC Application, & use button to select relevant Operational WCD, and then save the WC Application.

Phase 5: Prepare WCD objects for useModify your WC Document & use in Operational WCD menu

8

Page 9: WCM Scenario

Modify your WC Application & use in WC Application menu

Phase 6: Allow Maintenance order processingNow that order is WCM-relevant, the completions steps will be impossible without a ‘Release for Execution’ step. This step is only allowed when traffic light in associated WC Application is green – in our case, it means that maintenance items in our operational WCD have been tagged (lift & switch are off). So, we can now enter the Operational WCD in change mode

The red traffic light means that at least one approval is missing. You anyway can

use to manually issue an option al approval for APP_01 permit. In the same way the WC Application has its light red

& the approval can’t be manually granted. To go further in the process we now need to tag our maintenance items. On the

switching screen accessible with , select lines, & make sure all have gone through ‘Tagged’ step. The following screen capture shows how to proceed.

9

Page 10: WCM Scenario

Select relevant lines, & use button. At this step, because the WCD items are in ETG status, IFS approval is automatically granted to the Operational WCD, and then copied to corresponding WC Application.

WC Application having its traffic light green, the button now appears in the change maintenance order screen.

CustomizingBesides the APP_01 permit creation, customizing lies in SAP Customizing Implementation Guide / Plant Maintenance and Customer Service / Work Clearance Management / Approvals.

Enhancements/Assign Approval

11

Page 12: WCM Scenario

IFS approvals are required, automatically copied & set up when possible, influence traffic light.

Please note all boxes are cleared, but as it is a new permit, we need to declare it as available for Operational WCD – note also we don’t want this approval to influence the traffic light.

Enhancements/Define Hierarchy for Approvals

The APP_01 could probably better be defined with a real hierarchy level (here it’s meant to be the most important), & use a hierarchical mechanism of approval revocation

Enhancements/Define Cross-Document Approval Process

Here we define IFS for WCA will come from lower level that is Operational WCD. The ticked box ensure that the approval for the WCM object is only issued if approvals have already been granted in higher-/lower-level WCM objects

Enhancements/Block Issuing of Approvals/Define Dependant on System Status

13

Page 14: WCM Scenario

IFS approval can only be granted for Operational WCD when its items have been tagged

Enhancements/Block Issuing of Approvals/Define Dependant on Assignments

Here we forbid any WC Application IFS Approval without related WCM object (that is, to grant an IFS approval to a WC Application, you must have a WCD associated to this WC Application).
