Client: Warner Bros. Celebrating the incredible craftsmanship that went into producing the Harry Potter series of movies, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – ‘The Making of Harry Potter’ ™ opened in March 2012. The tour celebrates the artistry and cinematic excellence of the highly skilled production team, which brought to life the most successful film franchise in history, at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire.

Over the last five years, Terence O’Rourke has supported Warner Bros. by providing planning consultancy, environmental and landscape architecture services for the Studio Tour, and the refurbishment and extension of the Studios within which it sits. We delivered the planning consent without the need for environmental impact assessment and without the application being ‘called in’ by the Secretary of State, and continue to work closely with the Warner Bros. team.

The economic value of film related tourism attractions is well documented, and we worked closely with Screen East in advancing the very positive local and national economic benefits of the scheme and ensuring the educational aspects of the scheme were promoted.

Since opening, the Tour has won various awards including: Best UK Visitor Attraction – Group Leisure Awards 2012 and the Outstanding Achievement Attraction 2012 from the Themed Entertainment Association.
