Volkswagen launches the New Cross Polo 1.2 MPI for the Indian market

- New Cross Polo available across India, prices start at Rs 6.94 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai

- New petrol-engined Cross Polo offers an excellent blend of power, performance and fuel economy, along with outstanding build quality and safety

Mumbai, 14 January 2015: Volkswagen, Europe’s largest carmaker,

announces the launch of the New Cross Polo 1.2 MPI today. Powered by

a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 74bhp and 110Nm of torque, the

New Cross Polo 1.2 MPI boasts crossover design flair, outstanding build

quality and class-leading safety. With its 16.47kmpl mileage, the petrol-

engined Cross Polo offers an optimum blend of power and fuel economy.

Safety levels on the New Cross Polo are unmatched, with anti-lock brakes

(ABS) and dual front airbags. As with the rest of the Volkswagen Polo

range, the New Cross Polo comes with a 4-star NCAP safety rating.

Extras that make the New Cross Polo even more attractive are dual-beam

halogen headlamps with black finish, 15-inch alloy wheels, ‘Cross’

bumpers with silver accents, silver-painted roof rails and rear-view mirror

housing and ‘Cross’ front grille with chrome accent.

The New Cross Polo also features upgraded interiors, with leather-

wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, superior ‘Cloud Titan Black’

upholstery and ‘Climatronic’ automatic air-conditioning.

Speaking at the launch of the New Cross Polo, Mr. Michael Mayer,

Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales

India Pvt. Ltd. said “With the New Volkswagen Cross Polo, we will inject

some excitement into the premium hatchback segment in India. With its

rugged, dynamic styling, upmarket interiors and high levels of safety, we

are sure the New Cross Polo will appeal to buyers who like a bit of

sportiness and individuality in their cars.”

Bookings of the New Cross Polo will commence from 15 January 2015.
