September is Hunger Action Month. On Thursday, September 8, join thousands of people across the country and GO ORANGE to fight hunger!

Here’s how to GO ORANGE:

1) Individually, or as a group, wear orange (the symbolic color for hunger)!

2) Take your picture - have fun with it!

3) Post your picture* on NBC15’s Facebook page using #Orange4SHFB and #HungerActionMonth!

*Lands’ End, Habush Habush & Rottier S.C., Cargill Animal Nutrition - Milton, Automation Components, Inc., Door Creek Dental, Starion Financial and TASC will donate 25 meals to Second Harvest Foodbank for every photo posted.

Memorial Day weekend is almost a memory but the good work accomplished at BratFest 2016 is not!

39 volunteers served on behalf of Second Harvest for 122.75 hours earning $982 or 2,946 meals for hungry members of our community.

Please pencil us in for next year. Wouldn’t it be remarkable if we could triple our numbers at this community event?!

Metcalfe’s Meal Bag Project – October 25 (West), October 26 (Hilldale)As part of their commitment to the NBC15 Share Your Holidays campaign, Metcalfe’s Markets offer pre-packaged bags of non-perishable food to be purchased by their customers and donated to Second Harvest. Before they can be sold, they need to be prepared. Two shifts are available each day; 10 am - 1 pm and 1 pm - 4 pm. If you are interested, contact Pam Higham at 608-216-7214.
