MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

1992-1995 Deputy Secretary, Department of Labor and Employment Security,

State of Florida. Responsible for the day to day operations of the Department and for implementing Total Quality Management. The Department consisted of over 7,000 employees, seven divisions and six support offices. Divisions: Division of Administrative Services; Division of Labor, Employment, and Training; Division of Safety; Division of Unemployment Compensation; Division of Vocational Rehabilitation; Division of Worker’s Compensation; and Division of Blind Services. Offices: Inspector General; Chief Internal Auditor; General Counsel; Communications; Civil Rights and Minority Affairs; and Planning, Budgeting, and Evaluation.

1980-1985 Dean, School of Extended Studies and Associate Professor,

Department of Management, College of Business Administration, University of South Florida. Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating outreach and special degree programs. School included the International Language Center, Weekend College, and the Divisions of Lifelong Learning, Conferences and Institutes, Special Degree Programs, and Professional Development, the Center for Organizational Effectiveness and the Executive MBA program. Taught courses for the Department of Management.

1979-1980 Assistant to the President, University of South Florida.

Worked directly with USF President in managing the day-to-day operations of the University. Pursued widely diverse projects assigned by the President, encompassing all facets of University activities.
