VISUAL RESUME: JEFFRY A. JONES

Born May 3, 1982 in Memphis, Tennessee

Most of my family is originally either from Memphis or Birmingham, AL

Father was a former musician, music engineer and music salesman who worked for several different businesses


Moved several different places across the United States as a child, including:

Gaithersburg, Maryland 1983-1984 Lancaster, Pennsylvania 1984-1986 Los Angeles, California 1986-1988 Lived in Memphis again from 1988-1990


Moved to West Texas in 1990: lived in Midland, Texas for four years

My sister Sara Elizabeth Jones was born in Odessa

Was homeschooled for four years from 4th-7th grade

Moved to Waco in 1994 on my 12th birthday


Went from homeschool to Waco Covenant Academy (now Texas Christian Academy) in 1997 mainly to play basketball

Childhood hobbies were:

Making model airplanes Astronomy Playing sports (track, volleyball, basketball) Sports was always a meaningful part of my high school

years because I loved competition and it challenged me to work hard and develop discipline


Averaged 10 points a game my senior year as a full-time starter on the basketball team

Was a member of National Honor Society in Spring 2000

Graduated with a 3.8 overall GPA in 2000


Spent my first year of college at Baylor University in 2000

Took two years off for work and went back to school in 2003 at Mclennan Community College


Was re-admitted into Baylor in 2004 and stayed there until 2007

Financial aid problems forced me to leave school again in the fall of 2007 and I again spent the next two years working


Worked in the food industry for most of my work career since I was 16

Places include: McDonald’s (1998-2000) Subway (2000-2002) Pizza Hut (2002-03) Applebee’s (2003-2005) Olive Garden (2007-08) Cheddar’s (2011-present)


Moved to Lubbock in November 2009 to start over and find quality education

at an affordable price

Was admitted into Texas Tech University in February 2011


Chose Personal Financial Planning as my major in May 2011

Currently on schedule to graduate in December 2013

I am currently enrolled in five classes: Public Policy Addiction & Recovery Services Philosophy-Ethics Intro to PFP PFP Technology Application
