• for information, notes, calendar, assignments, practical portfolios, visual literacy studies, grades and communication

• modern technology for the ‘cleanliness’, safeness,• speed and accessibility any time, any

place.• cost of printing assignments and notes,• distance students

• large groups, little time, big volume of work• failed their test • other assessment instruments • graded discussion introduced.• Student participation was very high • preparation for the test • checked their marks regularly

immediately after assessment. • checked their marks and comments

STUDENT REACTION

• Comments after course and lecturer assessment varied after the semester.

• Most wanted all their marks and assignments to be handled via Blackboard.

• Few felt that the lecturer was ‘not available.’ • Not all equally able to access and utilize

modern technology.

OTHER COURSES

• 400 students used Blackboard for course content, notes, assignments, announcements, calendar, grades for their Visual Art theoretical work.

OTHER FORMS OF TECHNOLOGY USED

• Teaching Practice journal and photographs• projected onto the whiteboard in a PPT presentation • interactive tool • acquainted with whiteboard use • learn from the failures and successes of their

classmates.• Gallery visits and excursions• Service Learning project• Final exhibition of work, DVD loop

HONOURS STUDENTS

• part-time• e-mail photographs of practical work• Smartphone• plug the phone into my computer • Sms, or e-mail communication between

contact sessions• tuition was not restricted to contact

sessions.
