PFL’s Recommendation: In order to make your trip to Machu Picchu more enjoyable, we suggest taking just the necessary thing with you for the Machu Picchu trip in a small suitcase. The railway company allows you to carry 1 piece of luggage per person. Must not exceed 5 kg/11 pounds and 62 inches/157 cm (length*height*width). You can leave the rest of your luggage in the storage room of the hotel in Cuzco.

TRAIN To Aguas Calientes Arrival TBC Class Vistadome

*Train tickets are reserved upon client’s deposits but issued only few days before departure. A ticket reservation is not 100% guaranteed until issuing due to the Railway Company’s policy (they have a monopoly). We apologize for this inconvenience and please note that all agencies have to go to thru the same system. We have never had a client not reach Machu Picchu due to these policies. As the train leaves Ollantaytambo to begin the last part of its journey to Machu Picchu, the temple complex known as The Fortress, dedicated sometime in the 15th century to the many deities of the Inca pantheon, can be seen to the right above the earthwork ramp once used to drag its monolithic blocks up from the valley floor. The railway follows the river into the Urubamba Gorge. At Coriwaynachina, known simply to the generations of hikers who have begun the Inca Trail there as Km 88, a fine staircase carved into the rock leads to a series of ruined buildings where once, it is said, Inca artisans took advantage of the constant wind that rises from the valley floor to smelt gold. Emerging from a short tunnel, a series of beautiful agricultural terraces marks the ruins of Qente, which in Quechua means hummingbird. In this fertile microclimate fed by a nearby waterfall, giant hummingbirds are indeed a common sight in the early morning and bright flowers bloom all year round. Surrounded by tall ceibos and rocky outcrops hung with orchids and bromeliads, the train passes Km 104 at Chachabamba, from where the one-day trek to Machu Picchu via the magnificent ruins of Wiñay Wayna begins. At just two km from Machu Picchu, the train arrives at Aguas Calientes.

Tour Machu Picchu Start: TBC by your guide Rep: PFL CUZCO G Type Private · 2-3 hours ( (+51.84) 984601870

Machu Picchu (“Old Mountain” in Quechua) is one of the most popular archaeological sites in the world, and by far the most visited attraction in Peru. Known for its amazing ruins and unusual location on a high mountain, it wasn’t discovered by the modern world until 1911. Archaeologists believe that it was once a religious center or a sovereign’s private estate, but its exact meaning remains a mystery. At the end of the tour your guide will advise you on how to get to your hotel and give you some other tips how to spend your time in the Machu Picchu area.
