Steel Melting Shop:

Our stainless steel melt shop encompasses five induction furnaces, two AOD converters with computerised Intelligent Refining System and two continuous Billet / Bloom casters.

Grades:

Austenitic, ferritic, martensitic, austenitic – ferritic (duplex) and precipitation hardening 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 304H, 304HC, 316Ti, 303, 410, 420, 347, 201,302, 302HQ, 430, 310, F-51, 416, 317L, LER grade.

Stainless Steel Wires and Wire Rods:

This division is engaged in manufacturing stainless steel wires and wire rods. The quality of the product is well accepted in the international as well as the domestic market.

Wires manufactured in this division are mainly used in industries like ship building, chemical industries, petro-leum, automobile, food processing, paper mills, house hold applications etc.

The division is capable of producing wires in extensive size ranges of 0.07mm to 13.5 mm and wire rods 5.5 mm to 39.5 mm.

Our wires division is a well equipped producer of high quality products having in-house facilities for solution annealing, bright annealing (continuous strand annealing), dry and wet wire drawing, high speed drawing, me-dium wire pattern laying, fine wire spooling, layer winding, random winding, TIG wire straightening, and cutting facilities.

Fasteners division is specialised in the manufacturing of austenitic stainless steel fastener products. Stainless Steel is a durable, eco-friendly material requiring low maintenance. It is corrosion resistant and has a much longer life span than most other materials. The austenitic stainless steel is nonmagnetic and cannot be hard-ened by heat treatment. Application Fasteners:

l Bolts are threaded lengths of steel rod with heads on one end. They are used with a nut at the other end and sometimes with a washer as well.

l Carriage bolts are used to fasten wood parts or steel parts with square punched holes where a smooth finish is desired.

l Jam Nuts are normally thinner than hex and square nuts and used to lock a standard nut into place by running up against the hex or square nut. They are commonly used where vibration or cyclic loads may cause a bolt to unscrew.

l Hexagonal Nuts are used when a cotter pin is placed through a hole in the bolt to secure the nut so it cannot come loose, for example, on wheel bearing spindles.

l Sheet metal screws are used to attach light, thin parts made of sheet metal, soft metal castings, plywood, fiberglass, plastics, etc.

l Hex socket cap screws are used in recessed holes or in confined spaces where the small head size may be an advantage.

l Point flange-head screws are used where small-diameter, high-strength screws are required like hydraulic motors.

Bright Bars division is engaged in the production and export of cold finished bright bars in various shapes such as round, hexagon, square and flat in vast size range and has integrated in-house facility for heat treatment (annealing, solution annealing, hardening and tempering), pickling, straightening, peeling, drawing, centre less grinding, polishing and buffing etc.

Packing:

This division has integrated in-house facilities for cutting, forging, ring rolling and machining facility with CNC lathes. CNC drilling (machining center), high capacity forging press and mobile manipulator for making big diameter forged round bars. The division also has in-house heat treatment shop and well equipped laboratory facilities for mechanical and metallurgical testing and complete facility for PMI testing with X-ray and emission spectrometers.

Applications of flanges:

Slip-On Flange:

The Flange is slipped over the Pipe and then welded both inside and outside to provide sufficient strength and prevent leakage. This Flange is used in preference to Weld Necks by many users because of its lower cost and the fact that less accuracy is required when cutting pipe to length.

Blind Flange:

This is a Flange without a bore and is used to shut off a Piping system or vessel opening. It also permits easy access to vessels or Piping systems for inspection purposes. Blind Flanges can be supplied with or without Hubs at the manufacturer’s option.

Weld-Neck Flange:

This is designed to be joined to a Piping system by Bun Welding. It is relatively expensive because of its long neck, but is preferred for High Stress applications. The Neck, or Hub, transmits stresses to the Pipe, reducing stress concentrations at the base of the Flange. The gradual transition of thickness from the base of the Hub to the wall thickness at the Bun Weld provides important reinforcement of the Flange. The bore of the Flange matches the bore of the Pipe, reducing turbulence and erosion.

Threaded Flange:

This is similar to a Slip-On Flange in outline, but the bore is threaded, thus enabling assembly without weld-ing. This obviously limits its applications to relatively low pressure piping systems. The Flange may be welded around the joint after assembly, but this is not considered a satisfactory method of increasing its applications.

Socket Weld Flange:

This is similar to a Slip-On Flange in outline, but the bore is counter-bored to accept Pipe. The diameter of the remaining bore is the same as the inside diameter of the Pipe. The Flange is attached to the Pipe by a Fillet Weld around the Hub of the Flange. An optional interval weld may be applied in High stress applications. Its biggest use is in High Pressure Systems such as Hydraulic and Steam Lines.

Orifice Flange:

Orifice flanges are intended for use instead of standard pipe flanges when an orifice plate or flow nozzle must be installed. Pairs of pressure tappings are machined into the orifice flange, making separate orifice carriers or tappings in the pipe wall unnecessary.
