at the LISMORE WORKERS CLUB , Keen Street, Lismore at 7.30pm.
OPINIONS EXPRESSED IN THIS MAGAZINE ARE NOT NECESSARILY THOSE OF THE CLUB.
GUIDELINES FOR CONDITIONAL REGISTRATION (CLUB PLATES)
All NRVVCC members should familiarize themselves with the NSW RMS rules and club rules surrounding how to use your vehicles on Conditional registration, together with the requirement to carry certain documents in
the vehicle whenever it is being used. If you are on the log book trial, the RMS issued log book must be completed by the member before you use
the vehicle for anything other than NRVVCC club outings. Vehicles not on log book, the member should phone/email the secretary when a movement is needed for anything other than club outings.
Any member with vehicles(s) conditionally registered through the NRVVCC and who do not attend a minimum of three club events per calendar year (not including registration day & meetings) may be asked by
the committee to show cause as to why the club should sanction the renewal of their registration in the following year.
The Club cannot afford the risk of the system being abused and the subsequent loss of the benefits of these worthwhile concessions for other Club members.

Editor’s Report
With another year coming to an end I would like to extend my thanks to
those members who have taken the time to pass on features, interesting photos
or material that would add variety to the Klaxon throughout the year. I also
extend a big Thank You to Graeme Gill for keeping us supplied with ink
cartridges for the copier at a very economical cost. Expenses producing the
Klaxon would have been much higher if having to purchase locally.
I also wish to extend my thanks to our secretary Narelle Middleton for her
valuable assistance throughout the years. Regardless whether in the
secretarial position on not, Narelle has always been there assisting with
finding ways to get around my loss of megabytes on my computer by sending
out the online Klaxon and any other problems during the production of our
magazine.
I would like to extend my thanks to Bob Trevan as well Over almost fourteen
years there has seldom been a Klaxon produced without input from Bob and
not always about Ford’s. Bob is moving on and his input will be missed
especially during times of little club news. Only an Editor would notice the
loss of input from these club members.
I would also like to extend our Thanks to our President, Chris Loadsman for
his assistance in taking the time to send photos and documentaries of outings
that Nancy & I couldn’t attend. His and Narelle’s assistance over the years
has been greatly appreciated.
Nancy & I wish you all a Merry Christmas and may the coming
New Year be kind to you all.

Alstonville Show
We arrived at the gate at 11-30am to find most of our
members taking part lined up on the left of the entrance,
which was a much better location than on previous
occasions with our vehicles lined up where the public could
view them, also we could enjoy morning tea under the shade
of trees.
Two of our members, Noel Gill & Gordon Lowrey also had
their traction engine on display but remained stationary with
other engines on display.
Later in the morning the ‘Show Girl’ contestants came
around with their Supervisors to arrange their means of
support on the various styles of vehicles. Sometime later,
with show girl contestants on board we Lined up at the
entrance and as soon as the horses found their way out,
joined the procession without incident. After the ceremonies
were complete, we drove the contestants out of the ring and
called it a day.

A VISIT TO LISMORE BOTANIC
GARDENS – 6th
November, 2019
The sun was out, the ground was dry, and seven
cars found their way to our very own Botanic
Gardens. Up to the end of last century, Lismore
was the largest Australian City without its own
Botanic Gardens. However, an enthusiastic group
was formed, eventually a site was found and our
own gardens commenced. This is something we
should all be proud of. This group, all volunteers,
has converted a tangled web of weeds and degraded bushland into an
environment worthy of a visit. A genuine rainforest, a hoop pine forest and
different areas of local plants offer visitors intriguing walks for all to enjoy.
Following morning tea our group was shown a brief history of the garden’s
progress. After some discussion and question time we were taken on a guided
tour through some of the gardens. None of the group had been there before, so I
hope they will come back, and maybe
bring Christmas visitors as well.
Although it is so dry at present the
flowers are starting to bloom and are
ready and waiting for rain.
Entry is free and the gardens are open
whenever the “Tip” gates are open.
Thank you so much Marie and Tracey
for making us welcome

Lunch at Wollongbar Tavern
Due to the inclement weather conditions it was decided to change the run
from Evans Head to lunch at the Wollongbar Tavern. 22 members spent their
time being served a delightful lunch in the airconditioned comfort of the
Wollongbar Tavern.
We had a very enjoyable afternoon away from the smoke, heat and dust and
a Big Thank You to Ron Hawkins and members involved in re-arranging the
day for us.

THE DINKUM OIL
A drop from the Council of Heritage Motor Clubs to keep you going
RMS affirmed several aspects of HVS and CVS during its meeting with the Historic and Classic Car Industry Working Group on 30th October:
It will consult with stakeholders about further development of the Log Book, including detailed design of the format. Invitations will be sent out this month for workshops in December to consider design of a revised Log Book
No matter what format is eventually used by Log Book operators, it will eventually require all details (including use) to be able to be recorded digitally within RMS.
HVS is available only to vehicles 30 years or older with manufacturer’s options or period accessories. Seat belts or trafficators are permitted. Mechanical or non-period body changes not offered for that model by the manufacturer such as :
o Power steering o Power windows o Aftermarket seats o Disc Brakes o Alternative wheels from a different manufacturer
o Intake and exhaust systems from a different manufacturer exclude a vehicle from HVS.
RMS Compliance has advised that it will continue to act against breaches of vehicle HVS or CVS eligibility, and its website will soon enable such breaches to be reported directly.
Alternatively, breaches may be reported to CHMC’s RMS Liaison Officer (Peter Wright). Reports will need: Vehicle HVS or CVS registration number, date, location and photograph/s with description indicating noncompliance concern.
CHMC will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in conjunction with next year’s half yearly General Meeting It will be held at Raymond Terrace on the weekend of 24th /25th October 2020.
Heritage motorist and Cartoonist Warren Brown will feature as Guest Speaker
Clubs are encouraged to plan a Club visit or tour to the area, either before, after, or spanning the celebration
Council will keep members updated with further information regarding our upcoming anniversary
For further information contact:
Peter Wright (RMS Liaison) phone 0417 250 798 regarding RMS, or
