Jucu is a small resort, still quiet, located 15 kilometers from the center. It is a old village of fishermen. It still having the character of small

village. It is near to the river Jucu. The place has several beaches, frequented by the surfers and by

anyone that loves beaches. Surf championships, some of them of national level, take place in the city. In spite of that, during most of the time, the place is calm, and the

beaches are sought by who wants peace.

The bridge of Madalena allows the access to the Ecological Reserve of Jacaranema, occupying an area exceeding 1 million m2, Its a  preservation area, which saves a rich diversity of native vegetation of Espirito Santo. It was builted in 1896. The name is a homage to the band of Barra do Jucu Congo, which became famous for the song "Madalena."

In Ponte Madalena (Madalena bridge), you have a great view.  The best waves come in the winter. Sometimes local and Vila Velha surfers promote some parties to heat up the nights.

  There are some really cool bars at the seashore, where, on Fridays, the nights  become a point to the youths from Vitória (mainly in the summerBarra is a very eclectic place, and it is very frequented by Espirito Santo's artists, that always play for free to make the night even better!  You can also watch the show af the local band, called Casaca. They play a rhythm called "rocongo", which is a mix of rock and congo. Congo is a rhythm played with drum, ataba, reco-reco.
