CSU, who entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed, earned a 4-3 victory over De-troit in the semifinals and upset the reigning Horizon League Champions in the final match. The Vikings will find out who they will face in the first round of the NCAA Tourna-ment on Tuesday (April 30), as the NCAA Selection Show is slated for 5:00 p.m. First and second round ac-tion will take place May 10 through May 12. Jorg van der Vloet was named to the All-Horizon League First Team, while Matt Kuelker and Ali Shabib picked up second team honors. Niklas Jonsson clinched the title with his three-set win at No. 4 singles against Green Bay.

WOMEN’S TENNIS CSU’s season came to an end last weekend, falling in the semifinals of the Horizon League Championship. The third-seeded Vikings posted a 4-0 victory over Wright State in the first round, and then fell to second-seeded Youngstown State, 4-2 in the semifinals. This was the fourth straight year that the Vikings advanced to the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament. Three Vikings picked up postseason awards over the weekend, as Mathilde Orange, Alex Bush and Alex Power were named to the All-Horizon League Second Team. Nicole Janek and Maria La-zaris finished the spring with a team-high 15 wins, while Kara Sherwood ended the year with a 13-7 singles mark. Cleveland State finished the season with a 13-11 record, in-cluding a 5-2 league mark and a 6-1 record at home.
