Han Solo

A smuggler who pilots the Millennium Falcon to transport his shipments, Solo inadvertently stumbles upon the Galactic Emipire’s war against the Rebel Alliance when he meets Skywalker and Kenobi in the Mos Eisley Creature Cantina and agrees to take them to Alderaan.

Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi

A hermit on the planet Tatooine who saves Luke from a sandpeople attack, it is discovered he was once a Jedi knight with the Rebel Alliance and tries to persuade Luke to assist him in bringing the droids safely to the planet Alderaan. Chewbacca

A wookie from the planet Kashyyyk, he serves as Han Solo’s copilot and smuggling partner aboard the Millennium Falcon.

C-3PO

A protocol droid who is fluent in over six million languages and other forms of communication. He and his counterpart, R2-D2, escape Imperial capture and accompany Luke and Ben Kenobi on their journey to Alderaan.

Princess Leia

Leader of the Rebel Alliance, she uploads the stolen Imperial Death Star plans into R2-D2 along with a message for Obi-Wan Kenobi begging for his assistance in seeing the Death Star plans via the droids safely to her home planet of Alderaan.

R2-D2

Counterpart to C-3PO, R2-D2 carries the stolen Death Star plans the Imperial Army is seeking to recover. With the plans programmed onto his hard-drive by Princess Leia, R2-D2 escapes with C-3PO to Tatooine to contact Obi-Wan Kenobi. Uncle Owen

Stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker, Owen Lars is a moisture farmer who becomes Luke Skywalker’s guardian caregiver after Luke’s mother dies and his father, Anakin, is betrayed and murdered by Darth Vader.

Jawas

Dwarf inhabitants of the planet Tatooine, Jawas are scrap metal and discarded technology scavengers who peddle their salvaged goods (C-3PO and R2-D2 amongst them) to whoever will buy them from their traveling bazaar. Aunt Beru

Wife of Owen Lars, Beru Lars helps to raise young Luke into becoming a moisture farmer but sympathizes with Luke’s longing to leave Tatooine to pursue his dream of becoming a fighter pilot.
