Vidya Bharti is involved in the field of providing educational services, end to end solutions in training and educational related products and publications. It caters to various educational institutes and government organisations. It is headed by Mrs. Sonal Soni and employs 18 people in various capacities and 10 in-house trainers.

Vidya Bharti as a business venture is a brain child of Ms. Sonal Soni, its roots can be traced to Shri Maganbhai Soni‘s pioneering work in the field of education in Kutch, Gujarat. He started a residential school Sadanwadi in 1933 in Nakhatrana taluka of Kutch.

Later, in 1951 he started a residential school named Sardar Chhatralaya at Vallabhpur, Rapar Taluka Kutch. The students hailed from the Koli community which had high illiteracy and were economically backward.

Today Sardar Chhatralaya completes 61 years of providing education in this extremely remote part of our country.

One of the key initiatives of Vidya Bharti is to conduct Enterprise Training Programs (ETP), primarily in the area of women, adolescent girls and youth empowerment and through its modules aim to instill enterprise skills amongst the target group that will form the basis of an entrepreneurial mind set.

It works to raise the students’ awareness of self-employment and entrepreneurship as possible career options and provides specific business skills and knowledge of how to start and successfully run an enterprise. To this end, it is geared to bring together resources that will help an entrepreneur to make the right decisions at the right time. Vidya Bharti also develops books and teaching aids for early learning.

In the recent past, Vidya Bharti has worked with social bodies like CEDPA & UNICEF; across states.

With a degree in Bachelor of Arts (Specialisation in Psychology) and a special course on ''Enterprise Training Course for Women” from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai one of the prestigious management institutes in India, Mrs. Soni started her career in 2002 with a passion and desire to do something significant in empowering women and youth.

Her Professional Journey since 2002 involved: - Setting up a “Creative Kids Club”, - Significant contributions in family business - Starting a Publication House; - Launched a women oriented global magazine in a regional language which was a huge success. - Published books, periodicals for spiritual groups, educational institutes, social events

About Mrs. Sonal Soni - CEO

During her professional journey, Mrs. Soni had always wanted to do something at the grass root level; empowering women and youth. She got the opportunity through Gujarat Government’s Youth

Specific Programme. Since 2006, Mrs. Soni has involved herself in education and training

field.

Mrs. Soni is also one of the trustees in 3 trusts in Kutchh, Gujarat which are mainly running education, schools, hostels for Adivasi, Harijan girls.

Mrs. Soni is also an active Rotarian member.
