You are the most important part of making this movement a reality and we are thrilled to have you on board. We have put together this toolkit to provide you with the information and resources you need to put your hand up and go orange to end family violence and violence against women and girls.

The colour orange is a symbol of a future free from violence against women and girls. The campaign is timed to coincide with the global 16 Days of Activism against gendered violence campaign—commencing on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25 November) and concluding on International Human Rights Day (10 December). It promotes the colour ‘orange’ as symbolic of a future free from violence against women and girls.

After two years of raising awareness about family violence, in this third anniversary of the State Government’s Victoria Against Violence campaign we are calling the whole community to action.

Every Victorian has a role to play in preventing family violence. That’s why we need you to lead the way in bringing together families, businesses, students, communities and organisations across the state for one common purpose: to unite to create a Victoria free from violence.

The campaign theme is “Put Your Hand Up To End Violence”, supported by the ‘GoOrange’ initiative. These themes (using the hashtags #putyourhandup and #goorange and #freefromviolence) will form the basis of the actions you and your networks and communities can do to participate in the campaign.
