System Training

It is essential that you arrange for training on any campusmultimedia podium system before you use it !

System Overview

Juice Goose Surge Protector

VCR / DVD Player Combo Unit

Make sure the Document Camera is set to “ON”

Document Camera

Switch for the Document CameraNote: Power switch might be located

elsewhere on different models.

Some devices are routed through this Document Camera. If the Document Camera is off, the projector may not detect the those

devices.

System Power Up

Step 1. Use the Juice Goose to power up the LCD monitor.

Step 2. Power up Extron MLC 226IP Controller. This will also power on the projector.

STEP 1. Insert video tape into VCR / DVD Combo Unit

STEP 2. Press the VCR button on the Extron MLC Controller

STEP 3. Make sure VCR/DVD player light on the DVD/VCR unit matches the source you want to play ~ (DVD for DVD discs or VCR for VCR tapes).

TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES

If the indicator light on the VCD / DVD unit does not have the correct source light lit up: (DVD for DVD discs or VCR for VCR tapes)

press the VCR/DVD button on the remote or the unit to switch between the two.

STEP 4. Cue up tape to starting point by using remote & pressing “play” button. (Must be behind podium pointing remote at VCR).

STEP 5: Adjust Volume as needed using the Volume knob

STEP 1. Press the DVD button on the Extron MLC Controller

STEP 2. Open DVD Player and insert DVD

STEP 3. Make sure VCR/DVD player light on the DVD/VCR unit matches the source you want to play ~ (DVD for DVD discs or VCR for VCR tapes).

STEP 4. Use the DVD Remote to navigate around the DVD Menu and play the DVD.(Must be behind podium pointing remote at VCR).

NOTE: Must be in “TV”mode to see DVD moviein WIN TV window &send video to projector

STEP 5: Adjust Volume as needed using the Volume knob

TO USE ELMO DOCUMENT CAMERA

STEP 1. Press the “Doc Cam” button on the Extron controller

STEP 2. Unlock Document camera drawer.

A Document camera is permanently installed in the side drawer of the podium. Set

up lamps and use the camera per system training.

STEP 3. Switch the monitor to “Analog Input”

To Display the Document Camera on the Monitor

Press the Input button until the words “Analog” appear on the monitor

STEP 1. Press the PC button on Extron MLC controller

STEP 2. Power on the PC and use as usual

STEP 3. Switch the monitor to “Digital Input”

To Display the PC on the Monitor

Press the Input button until the words “Digital” appear on the monitor

TO USE MONITOR USB PORTS

NOTE: The Podium PC’s are equipped with 2 USB 2.0 ports on left side of podium monitor. These ports may be used to connect peripherals such as Flash drives (aka Thumbdrives) or external hard drives to the computer.

STEP 1. Press the laptop button on Extron MLC controller

STEP 3. Use function keys (specific to your laptop) to activate laptop display

OPTIONAL: To Black Out The Projection Screen Image

Press the “PIC MUTE” button on Extron MLC controller once to black out the projection screen.

Press the button a second time to return the screen to normal.

TROUBLESHOOTING: If the Projected Image is the Incorrect Size

Press the “Auto Image” button on Extron MLC controller once to correct any resolution issues with the projector. It should readjust the projected image

until the resolution returns to its proper size.

SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE CHECKLIST

Remove All Tapes, DVD, Diskettes

Shutdown PC Correctly

Power off Power Switch

Press the “OFF” button to power off the Extron Controller and LCD Projector

Lock Up Podium
