They should be as inconspi-cuous as possible. Adjust to thevariable pressure of high-perfor-mance fans in island and wall-mounted hoods - and still lookgood.

To fulfil all the technical air flowand architectural demands ofmodern exhaust and supply airyou have to offer a wide rangeof highly flexible flat duct systems.

COMPAIR® systems with theirspecifically constructed diameter geometry areoptimally constructed for exhaust air routing in kitchenswith permanently low backpressure. This is the outcome ofin-house developments and productions which are perfectlyengineered down to the last detail.

The advantages of exhaust air technology start where others stop...

The recirculating hood can beused in areas where exhaust airoperation isn’t feasible or only possible after expensive structuralchanges. As a kitchen sales expert, in individual kitchen planning, you should always mention to your clients thatrecirculating hoods aren’t a goodalternative to exhaust hoods. Stiftung Warentest's statement (test8/2007) could be seen as anargument for the more effective useof exhaust hoods: "No charcoalfilter can absorb cooking smells aseffectively as an exhaust duct canextract them."

The fact that recirculating hoodsaren’t at all able to clear the humidity in kitchen fumes is another problem which, with growing insulationawareness, can over time lead tomildew, which poses a health risk.

With the COMPAIR® range weoffer you technically sophisticatedair duct technology for individualexhaust air solutions whenplanning new constructions andrefurbishments. While developingthe products we made a point ofbeing in constant dialogue withuniversities and research institutions.

The focus was on harmonising theenergy efficient usage of systemparts with powerful exhaust hoods.

Ventilation technology

Exhaust air example

Reasons for exhaust air technology: Everything you need to know in anutshell• Smells, dampness and carbonmonoxide (gas stoves) are almost completely diverted to theoutside.

• Due to the removal of dampnessthe danger of long term healthrisks (allergies etc.) due tomildew infestation are reducedand also damage caused bycondensed water can be avoided (i.e. swelling up ofwooden surfaces).

• Given the same construction andvolume flow, an exhaust hoodcombined with a fluidic adapted

air duct/wall conduct installationis much less noisy than a recirculating hood.

• The costs for the necessarychanging of the activatedcarbon filter in a recirculating air system are much higher than forthe installation of an exhaustduct including the wall conduct(calculation basis 15 years/3 changes per year).

• Heat losses are minimised by theuse of a wall conduct, like theCOMPAIR® flow Star, that onlyopens when the cooker hood isin operation. Since during recir-culating air operation extra ventilation is usually needed, theheat losses should be com -parable.

• The replacement air neededduring the exhaust air operationcan get to the cooking areathrough a window, door gap oranother air supply opening*.

*Secure air supply openings are alwaysstipulated when an exhaust hood and anambient air-dependent furnace are in -stalled in dwellings. The smallest solution isa contact switch, that automatically closesthe exhaust hood when the window is closed. Alternatively, an electrical windowdrive that is controlled by the on/off switchof the exhaust hood can be installed. Thisavoids the window staying openconstantly.

COMPAIR®More performance through"conduction"

As a result of the patented guidevane technology, vapour flows aresmoothed in the duct and directed tothe environment with very little lossof pressure. Using COMPAIR® flow150, up to 79 % less pressure islost, depending on the length andstructure of the waste air duct – witha cross-sectional increase of only2.9 %, compared with the 150round pipe.

Strikingly unobtrusive form

Using the modern COMPAIR® flow150 rectangular profile, freedom ofdesign is retained in kitchen plan-ning. The external system dimen-sions H 89 mm x W 222 mm andcorner radiuses of 20 mm enableyou to plan inconspicuously and ina space-saving way.

COMPAIR® flow Star GTS 150The first wall conduct with guide vane technology

Optimum flow under inclusion of the wall conduct on the external wallis decisive for the overall efficiency of any kitchen waste air system. The flow Star wall conduct enables the combination of good flowperformance, perfect seal of the wall joint with "blower door" certifi-cate and prize-winning external appearance. Performance figures andenergy efficiency may be improved even more by connection to theCOMPAIR® flow flat duct system.

The functional principle of flow Star uses the pressure effect of the airstream (volume stream) created during hood operation, combined withmechanically controlled spring and magnetic force when openingand/or closing the wall conduct. With flow Star GTS 150, the highenergy generated by the large flow cross-section is absorbed by anadditional integrated pressure spring. With the hood switched off, thefront plate closes flush with the outside wall. With its modern, flush exterior appearance, flow-Star meets the expectations of modern kitchen planning and architecture.

Advantages

– optimal flow performance due to integrated guide vanetechnology

– lowest drop in pressure of all commercially available wall conducts

– maximum flow rate of the exhaust hood– minimisation of noise emissions by the extractor hood

Energy efficiency

– no other power supplies are necessary for theuse of the wall conduct. Uses the flow energygenerated by the air stream (volume flow)when the cooker hood is in operation.

– optimal heat isolation when closed– an all-round labyrinth seal prevents heat lossand saves heating energy (high tightness)

– perfect solution for a secure sealing of thebuilding shell acc. ENEV09 (Blower-Door certificate)

– appropriate for energy efficient houses– the electricity consumption of the connectedcooker hood is reduced due to flow optimisation

Material & design

– elegant, contemporary design– rust free and high class stainless steel cover– the cover can be disassembled without any problems for extra handling (i.e. surface coating)

– multiple awards for design and functionNomination for the Design Award 2011 of the Federal Republic of Germany

Technology

– fully mechanically controlled opening and closing function withspring and magnetic force

– robust construction with ball bearings that are sealed and don’trust

– a backpressure shutter isn’t necessary– with the hood switched off, the front plate made of stainlesssteel closes flush with the outside wall

– simple assembly without electrical connection, no extra boreholes are necessary

– ideal for the exchange of old systems with existing tapping drillhole

– fail safe against freezing, strong winds, driving rain and dirt

flow Star GTS 150 wall conduct GTS stands for "generation two springs", which refers to the two integratedsprings. Compared to the original flow Star, a pressure spring has been added, which slows the flow body over the last 10 mm, thus avoiding a hard impact onthe end stops. The kinetic energy created during the opening process is absorbedand released again in the closing direction, against the volume flow. In this way,the opening width of the flow Star GTS is individually adapted to the specificvolume flow of the hood.An all-round sealing lip positioned at the outer flangeprovides added protection in colder weather.

Properties and functions— optimum flow performance due to guide vane technology— elegant design (smooth surfaces instead of lamellas)— closing of the wall conduct by spring force and additional magnets— easy installation without additional drill holes— sturdy design with no-rust, sealed ball bearings— lowest pressure loss of all commercially available wall conducts— maximum feed performance of the vapour hood— low noise generation of the vapour hood— optimum heat insulation— increased resistance to weathering— no rattling of backpressure shutters in case of gusts of wind— good seal when the vapour hood is switched off— blower door certificate— no electrical connection required— for the installation of the mounting pipe, a core drilling hole (Ø 155 mm) isrecommended

Klima 150 waste and fresh air wall conductEvery vapour extraction system also needs "air to breathe":

Without a supply of fresh air, a vacuum is created in the room, which makes aircirculation and therefore perfect functioning of ventilation impossible. Besidesthis, an exchange of spent and fresh air ensures a comfortable and healthy roomand working climate.

But it is not always possible to effect the ideal spatial separation of air intake andoutlet. Using the combined waste and fresh air wall conducts, an elementcombining both functions in one compact component has been created.

E-Jal HK flow 150 external blindThe stainless steel external blind COMPAIR® E-Jal HK offers additional possibilitiesfor laying the exhaust air system in difficult installation situations. Through avertical assembly position, it is now possible to place the air duct and theexternal blind upright in a minimum of space without reducing the flow characteristics of the duct system.

The COMPAIR® E-Jal HK is installed in the desired place on the external wall. Theupright flat duct COMPAIR® flow 150 is installed in a space-saving manner on thewall coming from the extractor hood and attached directly to the external blindwithout changing the cross-section.

The aesthetics of the classic, factual design language of the established andaward-winning COMPAIR® E-Jal series were taken up and adapted to the newform. The torsionally rigid construction of the stainless steel frame element meansit does not even deform in case of long-term use and weathering. The lamella design of the stainless steel external blinds with spring-loaded back pressure flapsreliably prevents the penetration of strong wind and driving rain.

F-bion 150 deflector 90°Energy efficiency for extremely powerful hoods

Bionik deals with the research and the systematic transfer of solutions from natureto the technical applications of products. For COMPAIR® bion, the flow-dynami-cally optimal meandering systems in watercourses formed the natural example. The development of the deflector was carried out using the latest simulation andmeasurement technology. Here, the focus was on the energy efficient use of thesystem parts with extremely powerful hoods.

Contrary to the trend of constructing large space-consuming duct systems withØ 180 mm or Ø 200 mm for powerful hoods, for which the installation space isoften lacking, with the help of the new deflection curve Naber COMPAIR® F-bion,the proven space-saving flat duct system Naber Compair can be optimised.Using the bionically shaped 90° deflector F-bion, the pressure is reduced by upto 80 % compared to conventional 90° bends without guide-vane technology. Thanks to this reduction in pressure loss, larger volume flows can be channelledmore efficiently and virtually noiselessly from the hood to the outside.

The COMPAIR® bion deflectors for the Naber COMPAIR® exhaust air systems125/150 can also be subsequently integrated into existing systems taking theduct geometry into account and significantly improve the extraction power ofthe hood.

DN 150/160 roof hoodThe optimally designed roof hoods work with extremely low pressure loss, sinceair flow is largely without resistance. This is the advantageous effect of the amplydimensioned cross-section reserves of the hood heads: with the same nominalwidth, the clear profiles of the upper pipe and the hood head are always clearlylarger than those of the ventilation pipes to be connected. The unique sandwich system provides for an absolutely secure mount of theuniversal pass-through roofing tile on the lath. Whenever an extractor unit – such as an extractor hood– and an open fireplace -such as a stove - are operated simultaneously, with thewindows closed there is the risk of fatal carbon monoxide poisoning. To preventthis hazard, in the firing ordinance M-FeuVO, the legislator prescribes that incase of simultaneous operation of a fireplace dependent on ambient air and anextractor unit, it has to be insured that no dangerous negative pressure occursand a sufficient amount of outdoor air is able to flow in - for example through anopen window or a ventilation flap.Using a window contact switch queries if the window is open, to ensure thesupply of fresh air.To guarantee safe functioning even under difficult reception conditions, theproven model of the window contact switch has been extended with an externalantenna. A typical application of the window contact switch with externalantenna is the installation of the receiver unit of the exhaust switch for exhausthoods with stainless steel flue casing. This metal casing largely shields the internalantenna of the radio-controlled switch unit so the signals from the radio trans-mitter can only be received to a limited extent or not at all. Here the externalantenna offers a remedy! It is mounted on the outside of the metal casing andguarantees unimpeded reception of the control signals. A 1000 mm longantenna cable connects the external antenna to the exhaust switch unit.

COMPAIR®More performance through "conduction"

As a result of the patented guidevane technology, vapour flows aresmoothed in the duct and directed tothe environment with very little lossof pressure. Using COMPAIR® flow125, up to 59 % less pressure islost, depending on the length andstructure of the waste air duct – witha cross-sectional increase of only3.9 %, compared with the 125round pipe.

Strikingly unobtrusive form

Using the modern COMPAIR® flow125 rectangular profile, freedom ofdesign is retained in kitchen plan-ning. The external system dimen -sions H 77 mm x W 169 mm andcorner radiuses of 20 mm enableyou to plan inconspicuously and ina space-saving way.

COMPAIR® flow Star GTS 125The first wall conduct with guide vane technology

Optimum flow under inclusion of the wall conduct on the external wallis decisive for the overall efficiency of any kitchen waste air system. The flow Star wall conduct enables the combination of good flowperformance, perfect seal of the wall joint with "blower door" certifi-cate and prize-winning external appearance. Performance figures andenergy efficiency may be improved even more by connection to theCOMPAIR® flow flat duct system.

The functional principle of flow Star uses the pressure effect of the airstream (volume stream) created during hood operation, combined withmechanically controlled spring and magnetic force when openingand/or closing the wall sleeve. With the hood switched off, the frontplate closes flush with the outside wall. With its modern, flush exterior appearance, flow-Star meets the expectations of modern kitchen planning and architecture.

Ventilation technology

Advantages

– optimal flow performance due to integrated guide vanetechnology

– lowest drop in pressure of all commercially available wall conducts

– maximum flow rate of the exhaust hood– minimisation of noise emmissions by the extractor hood

– fail safe against freezing, strong winds, driving rain and dirt

flow Star GTS 125 wall conductGTS stands for "generation two springs", which refers to the two integratedsprings.

Properties and functions— optimum flow performance due to guide vane technology— elegant design (smooth surfaces instead of lamellas)— closing of the wall conduct by spring force and additional magnets— easy installation without additional drill holes— sturdy design with no-rust, sealed ball bearings— lowest pressure loss of all commercially available wall conducts— maximum feed performance of the vapour hood— low noise generation of the vapour hood— optimum heat insulation— increased resistance to weathering— no rattling of backpressure shutters in case of gusts of wind— good seal when the vapour hood is switched off— blower door certificate— no electrical connection required— for the installation of the mounting pipe, a core drilling hole (Ø 132 mm) isrecommended

Klima 125 waste and fresh air wall conductEvery vapour extraction system also needs "air to breathe":

Without a supply of fresh air, a vacuum is created in the room, which makes aircirculation and therefore perfect functioning of ventilation impossible. Besidesthis, an exchange of spent and fresh air ensures a comfortable and healthy roomand working climate.

But it is not always possible to effect the ideal spatial separation of air intake andoutlet. Using the combined waste and fresh air wall conducts, an elementcombining both functions in one compact component has been created. Itrequires only a single wall breakthrough and is accordingly inconspicuous on theoutside.

F-bion 125 deflector 90°Energy efficiency for extremely powerful hoods

Bionik deals with the research and the systematic transfer of solutions from natureto the technical applications of products. For COMPAIR® bion the flow-dynami-cally optimal meandering systems in watercourses formed the natural example. The development of the deflector was carried out using the latest simulation andmeasurement technology. Here, the focus was on the energy efficient use of thesystem parts with extremely powerful hoods.

Contrary to the trend of constructing large space-consuming duct systems withØ 180 mm or Ø 200 mm for powerful hoods, for which the installation space isoften lacking, with the help of the new deflection curve Naber COMPAIR® F-bion,the proven space-saving flat duct system Naber Compair can be optimised. Usingthe bionically shaped 90° deflector F-bion, the pressure is reduced by up to 80 %compared to conventional 90° bends without guide-vane technology. Thanks tothis reduction in pressure loss, larger volume flows can be channelled more effi-ciently and virtually noiselessly from the hood to the outside.

The COMPAIR® bion deflectors for the Naber COMPAIR® exhaust air systems125/150 can also be subsequently integrated into existing systems taking theduct geometry into account and significantly improve the extraction power of thehood.

DN 125 roof hood The optimally designed roof hoods work with extremely low pressure loss, sinceair flow is largely without resistance. A specially shaped mounting platemade of galvanised steel plate makes the roof penetration extremely stable.

DN 125 roof hoodThe universal roofing tile is quickly and securely mounted. Due to the Z edge ofthe bracket plate it immediately achieves a secure grip and may comfortably bemoved to the exact installation point on the roof lath. Window contact switch wireless systemWith external antennae. Whenever an extractor unit - such as an extractor hood -and an open fireplace -such as a stove - are operated simultaneously, with thewindows closed there is the risk of fatal carbon monoxide poisoning.

Window contact switch radio systemSafety switch with wireless radio transmission via an external antennae for appli-cation under difficult reception circumstances, such as installation behind stainlesssteel casing. Wireless temperature sensorThe wireless temperature sensor is integrated into the radio system of the windowcontact switch. Here, the temperature of the operating state of the fireplace ismonitored. The window only needs to be opened with the fireplace in operationwhile the hood is active. Thus, the strict coupling of the active hood and openwindow is not necessary. The temperature sensor is suitable for installation inclosed and dry living areas.

A hand riveter is required for installation!

Klima 150 waste and fresh air wall conductEvery vapour extraction system also needs "air to breathe":

Without a supply of fresh air, a vacuum is created in the room, which makes aircirculation and therefore perfect functioning of ventilation impossible.Besides this, an exchange of spent and fresh air ensures a comfortable andhealthy room and working climate.

But it is not always possible to effect the ideal spatial separation of air intake andoutlet. Using the combined waste and fresh air wall conducts, an elementcombining both functions in one compact component has been created.

On the supply side there is a gridoutlet with a connector on the round pipe. Both elements can be used next to each other as a set, or as single elements.Optimum flow values are achieved through volume-flow controlled waste andfresh air openings. Klima 125 waste and fresh air wall conductEvery vapour extraction system also needs "air to breathe":

Without a supply of fresh air, a vacuum is created in the room, which makes aircirculation and therefore perfect functioning of ventilation impossible. Besidesthis, an exchange of spent and fresh air ensuresa comfortable and healthy room and working climate.

But it is not always possible to effect the ideal spatial separation of air intake andoutlet. Using the combined waste and fresh air wall conducts, an elementcombining both functions in one compact component has been created. Itrequires only a single wall breakthrough and is accordingly inconspicuous onthe outside.

Window contact switch wireless systemWith external antennae. Whenever an extractor unit - such as an extractor hood -and an open fireplace -such as a stove - are operated simultaneously, with thewindows closed there is the risk of fatal carbon monoxide poisoning. It is mounted on the wall or ceiling next to the metalcasing at a distance of 100 mm and guarantees unimpeded reception of thecontrol signals. A 100 cm long antenna cable connects the external antenna tothe exhaust switch unit.

Window contact switch radio systemSafety switch with wireless radio transmission via an external antennae for appli-cation under difficult reception circumstances, such as installation behind stainlesssteel casing. Ready to plug with transmitter and receiver, including installationmaterial and batteries (long life, low energy consumption).Switching capacity up to 1150 W (5 A)
