BOSTON BRUINS 1The Vegas Golden Knights returned to their winning ways, defeating the Boston Bruins 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. The game was tightuntil late in the second period when Alex Tuch and Vadim Shipachyov each scored their first NHL goals, giving Vegas a 2-0 lead aftertwo periods. Malcolm Subban was stellar in his first NHL victory, stopping 21 of 22 shots. Subban, who was a first round draft pick bythe Bruins in 2012, was 30 seconds away from his first career shutout, but Boston was able to post a late goal. Oscar Lindberg followedup by scoring an empty net goal with 14 seconds left in the game to clinch the victory for the Golden Knights. Gerard Gallant was named the first head coach in Vegas Golden Knights history on April 13, 2017. He enters his seventh season as an NHLhead coach after spending parts of six seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets (2003-07) and Florida Panthers (2014-16) and has compiled acareer record of 156-141-4-31.
