Variturn Electro Products Pvt Ltd ( VEPL ) was established in the year 1990 and specializes inmanufacturing and supply of Wire Wound Resistors and Rheostats for Industrial, Defense,Energy Metering, Elevators and allied Engineering applications, Non Conventional Energyapplications. The Company got Quality Assurance Certification from DGQA in 2001 and ISO 9001Quality Certification from RMTUV in Nov. 2003. VEPL Wire Wound Resistors approved with LCSOas per defense standards JSS 50402 and also with CACT and C-Dot for Telecom applications.

VEPL led by Mr. K.K. Raju, Managing Director & C.E.O. who is a technocrat with over 20 years offunctional experience in the field of Electronics. Under his able Leadership, a team of peopleembedded with special Talents, Expertise, Vision, Drive and Commitment, have created andnurtured an outstanding talent in the company specialized in planning, Product Design anddevelopment, Production, Quality Control & Quality Assurance, Testing & Analysis, TechnoCounseling and Customer relationship.

VEPL has its manufacturing facility in a built-up area of 35,000 sq. feet. with an operatingcapacity of 30 Million Pieces per annum and having technically qualified personnel to meet theCustomer Demand. Highly accurate manganin re-sistance d.c. shunts. When acurrent is passed through theshunt, a proportional millivoltoutput is produced.

Application :

RESISTANCE(DISCHARGE) BOX

VEPL undertakes custom based products. This is a custombased item mainly used for wind power generators.

The main application of this resistance box is to control surgecurrents whenever lightning strikes the blade of generator.

This is a 50 Kilo Ohm wire wound resistance box. The resistorsare wound on high alumina tubes and molded in an ABS box.The molding compound is PU-304 polyurethane material.

ALUMINIUM HOUSED RESISTOR (CHOPPER RESISTOR)

VEPL undertakes custom based products. This is a custombased item mainly used for handling braking loads.

This is a 220 Ohm wire wound resistor encased in an aluminumencase to dissipate heat faster. The continuous wattage is 200Wand it can dissipate up 20 times of its normal power for a shorttime. One normally closed thermal cut-off switch is providedinside the case to cut-off at peak temperature.

3. Breakdown strength 2.5 KV for 1 min. (Between terminals and mounting hardware)

4. Impulse withstanding 3.8 KW 10s/120s, 3 cycles

5. Casing material Aluminum 6. Thermal cut-off 208ºC-210ºC OFF and 163ºC-166ºC ON respectively

7. Connecting cable 2000mm length, 1.5 sq.mm, silver plated teflon insulated copper cable for load and 1000mm length, 0.65 sq.mm cable for thermal switch

8. Filler and end seal filled with quartz and sealed with silicone cement
