WORLD No. 11 VICTORIA AZARENKA AND WORLD No. 13

CAROLINE WOZNIACKI ENTER FAMILY CIRCLE CUP

Two of the Fastest-Rising Young Stars on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour

Join World Class Player Field in Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (February 24, 2009) – World No. 11 Victoria Azarenka, fresh off

capturing the second Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles title of her career in Memphis two days

ago, and also marking the highest world ranking of her career this week, has officially entered

the Family Circle Cup. World No. 13 Caroline Wozniacki, also coming off a strong result last

week as the singles finalist in Memphis, will make her debut appearance in Charleston and join

Azarenka in strengthening the world class player field set to compete in Charleston. These two

young stars join World No. 1 Serena Williams, World No. 5 Vera Zvonareva, World No. 6

Venus Williams, and World No. 9 Nadia Petrova in headlining the Family Circle Cup, a Sony

Ericsson WTA Tour Premier Event, scheduled April 11-19, 2009 at the Family Circle Tennis

Center in Charleston, SC.

“Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki are two of the most exciting young stars on the

Sony Ericsson WTA Tour,” commented Eleanor Adams, Family Circle Cup Tournament

Manager. “Azarenka’s strong play in last year’s tournament earned her a lot of fans who will be

thrilled to see her return in April. Equally exciting to our patrons will be the debut of Caroline

Wozniacki, a player who has climbed the rankings with three impressive tournament wins in

2008 and has already posted some great results this year.”

Victoria Azarenka has already notched an array of strong victories this year. Her success began

with a title at Brisbane, the first tournament on the 2009 calendar, which marked the first singles

championship of her career. She followed that success with a fourth round appearance at the

Australian Open, equaling her best Grand Slam result. Continuing her success, she entered

Memphis as the No. 2 seed where she won the second title of her career in a two-set upset

victory over No. 1 seed Caroline Wozniacki. Also at Memphis, she partnered with Caroline

Wozniacki to capture their first doubles title together. As the tournament’s No. 2 seed, Azarenka

and Wozniacki did not lose a set throughout the tournament. These victories combined to push

Azarenka’s career earnings over the $1.5 million mark. Azarenka is currently the third youngest

Top 20 player at nineteen years, 7 months old. She was a member of the Belarusian Olympic

Team in 2008. Azarenka is making her second appearance in Charleston where she reached the

third round as the No. 13 seed last year and posted a 2-1 record on Daniel Island. Azarenka has

her own web site at VikaAzarenkaTennis.com

Having just laid stake as champion of the inaugural Monterrey Open in Mexico, Marion Bartoli of France is set to bring her powerful two-handed ground strokes to Charleston’s green clay for the 2009 Family Circle

Cup, scheduled April 11-19. Adding to the anticipation of having this top-ranked female tennis player compete in the Cup, Bartoli will be arriving in the Holy City a week early to take in the beautiful city and

prepare for the 2009 clay-court season.

It took Bartoli only six break points in the Monterrey final to win her fourth career Sony Ericsson WTA Tour

title in 1 hour, 21 minutes. Now she moves on to Indian Wells followed by Miami and then Charleston in

April. "I feel really good about how I played the whole week," Bartoli said of her time in Monterrey. "I had

some tough matches, not just today but also in the semifinals. They were both two sets but tough. I hit some

great shots at the right moment. I'm happy about my level."

Her semifinal win at the Monterrey Open marked her 300th

career singles match win.

Bartoli departed from Mexico’s “Northern Sultan” with her newest singles title, having previously won in

Auckland, Tokyo and Québec City in 2006. She’s done a lot since then, including her first Grand Slam final

appearance at Wimbledon in 2007, and breaking into the Top 10 soon after that strong result.

While quietly rising back up towards the highest ranks of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in 2009, Bartoli

again stands as a force to be reckoned with, having scored wins over top players including former World No.

1 Jelena Jankovic who fell to Bartoli in the Australian Open in January.

With two tournaments on her schedule before Charleston, Bartoli is a mere 102 points away from a Top 10

world ranking and is sure to color the courts with thrilling tennis action along the way.

Arriving in Indian Wells as the No. 10 seed, tennis fans everywhere will be watching Bartoli as she plays her way through the draw, and then forward to Miami and the Family Circle Cup.

Arriving early in April to acclimate herself to the clay of the Family Circle Tennis Center, Bartoli will

prepare for the upcoming clay-court season and the road to Roland Garros.

Bartoli will face stiff competition in Charleston, including Top 10 players Serena Williams, Venus Williams,

Vera Zvonareva and Nadia Petrova, in addition to young stars Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki.

But, after closing on her fourth WTA Tour singles title, Bartoli has opened the door to what she hopes to be a

long tournament win-streak continuing through the Family Circle Cup.

More information on Bartoli’s pre-tournament appearances around the Charleston area will be posted in the

near future on familycirclecup.com.

Check out Which Charleston Restaurants Players Enjoy

A city recognized for its regal shopping and exquisite cuisine, Sony Ericsson WTA Tour

players travel to Charleston not only for illustrious tennis but also for unique off-court

attractions. Many players look forward to visiting their favorite Charleston shops and

restaurants after match-point. Lowcountry allure is not found in high-priced luxury

establishments, however, but rather in shops and restaurants visited by locals day after

day. In fact, it is likely that you will find yourself next to a star WTA Tour player when

dining out in this fine city. If you are new to the area, or would just like a few insider tips

on how to dine like the top players, the Best of Sony Ericsson WTA Tour 2009 Zagat

guide serves as a useful resource. With this guide, the world’s best players act as your

personal concierge. After all, what would Charleston be without southern cooking and

barbecue?

Perhaps the only thing as powerful as Serena Williams’ serve is the powerful soul found

in Jestine’s Kitchen. A favorite of Serena Williams and many Charlestonians alike,

Jestine’s Kitchen offers traditional southern cuisine. “I always make sure I visit Jestine’s

at least once each time I go to Charleston” says Williams.

Also offering sultry southern cuisine, Poogan’s Porch on the picturesque Queen Street

offers delectable cookery with a nostalgic twist and is a favorite of dog lover, Lisa

Raymond.  “The crab soup, fried green tomatoes and crab cakes are so good, and how

could you not love a place that’s named after the owner’s beloved dog?” says Raymond,

who travels with her dachshund, Casey, whenever possible.

When it comes to good southern barbecue, Dominika Cibulkova turns to Sticky Fingers,

also a popular pick for many Charleston locals. While offering traditional southern pork

barbecue, Sticky Fingers has something for everyone.  “The food is so good…The

chicken is fantastic” says Cibulkova.

A culturally diverse city, Charleston has award-winning eclectic restaurants as well.

Patty Schnyder awards Basil, a King Street Thai restaurant, first prize when it comes to

their curry, proclaiming it “the best curry I have ever had”. She also highly recommends

the pineapple curry.

Flavia Pannetta frequents Chai’s Lounge and Tapas on King Street in downtown

Charleston and eats there as much as possible when playing the Family Circle Cup. She

says “you can definitely expect good food at this restaurant”.

King Street, the Grand Slam of Charleston’s shopping and dining experience is a popular

destination for players on the WTA Tour. Pannetta may also be seen carrying bebe bags

Commander Naval Region Southeast

Beginning in 2001, bases under the Commander Naval Region Southeast (CNRSE)

adopted a risk management program that is known today as the Integrated Management

System (IMS). This program has resulted in a significant decrease in accidents and the

receipt of numerous safety awards, including recommendation for OSHA VPP status at

two of the bases.

Debra Simeone, Safety and Occupational Health manager at the Naval Submarine Base

Kings Bay, which was recommended for VPP Star status, believes IMS to be a great asset

to the naval bases under the CNRSE.  “The integrated Management System helped us to

implement programs such as Job Hazard Analysis, the Integrated Safety and Workers

Compensation Action Committee, the Workers Integrated Safety and Health Group, and

the Management Assessment Program” said Simeone.

IMS is a total business integration process that is tailored to a specific operational and

regulatory environment. The system was implemented in order to achieve the Secretary

of the Defense’s mandated 75 percent reduction in mishaps and their associated costs by

the end of FY08.

Federal government agencies and their representatives are offered the opportunity to

procure cutting-edge technical services at volume discount pricing through the General

Services Administration Professional Engineering Services Schedule. The initial and all

subsequent contract modifications to assist in implementing the IMS at the Commander

Naval Region bases were costed and executed using GSA Professional Engineering

Service (PES) rates. Potential benefits of ordering through a GSA Schedule include

shorter lead-times and lower administrative costs.

NAS Kingsville and NAS Key West (NASKW), the original two sites for the pilot

program, initially focused on achieving the objectives of the Mandate. Objectives for

these two sites included aligning and promoting safety with the Navy’s mission of

national defense and obtaining a self-sustaining long-term cultural change concerning

reduction of mishaps and their associated costs. IMS assists with the achievement of

these objectives.

In 2004, Congress authorized the expansion of the IMS project that included NASKW

and nine additional sites within the Naval Region Southeast. The initial objectives were

carried over to the added sites. These new installations adopted the IMS as their industry

best practice for meeting the Secretary of the Defense’s Mandate.

IMS is designed to incorporate management and work practices, address all types of work

and all types of hazards to ensure the safety of the workers and the public, and protection

of the environment. The success of IMS is based on worker safety requirements which

call for necessary tools, training, procedures, equipment, and supervision in combination

with formal feedback mechanisms used to improve the work planning and execution

process. Feedback, subsequent to the implementation of IMS, allows for improvement in

work implementation and productivity. IMS ensures that all aspects of business are

integrated.

While bridging gaps between performance and compliance, the IMS program maximizes

safety performance, productivity, and profitability by providing tools to improve the

REFERENCE FOR VALERIE ANTAKI

To whom it may concern

I confirm that Valarie Antaki was employed as a Proposals Editor with this organisation from 1 February to 24 September 2010. Valerie’s job of Proposals

Editor carried the following responsibilities:

· come up with a bespoke look and feel for each proposal document and

create all graphic content

· work with Bid Manager and production team to agree strategy, content, presentation and actions

· review, edit and write material for proposal document (and pre-qual

document when required)

· ensure timely dispatch and take responsibility for arrival of document

· prepare material for post-tender interview and responses

Valerie has a pleasant and confident inter-personal manner and excellent

editorial and design skills. I have always found Valerie a dedicated and hard working individual and would happily recommend her for any position as I considered her a valuable member of the team who had the ability to get on with a whole variety of different people. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her

and I was extremely sad when she told me that she was leaving. If you decide to

employ Valerie, I am sure that you will not regret it!

Yours faithfully

Lindsey Peck
