Perfect Party Because planning the party

should be as fun as the party itself

I am a party host – I like to have people over, cook, and think of fun activities I would like to do with other people (friends and

family). I am trying to think of the perfect party, but there are so many factors to consider – I know why I am having the party, but how many people are coming over? How much would cooking this cost? Is the weather going to be nice that we can BBQ? This

makes me feel unorganized and a little stressed.

Shereen

Shereen 31 years old Recently married Bought her first house Looking to start a family

Target Audience

Shereen has matured beyond her youthful parties. She no longer plays beer pong at parties, but is great at “Cards Against Humanity” at one of her game nights. Shereen is recently wed and is hoping to start a family soon. All her friends are married and beginning to have kids of their own. When she host parties, she has to think of the age range that is coming over. Not only do friends come over, but so do their babies and also the in-laws, and the cousins. After buying her first home with her husband, Shereen is enjoying the additional space and is excited to have people over. When having people over, she makes sure she puts together a checklist, because “when I don’t have a list, I usually miss something and have to call a friend to ask them to bring over the ice, or snacks or whatever.” She usually prepares everything, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like a good deal. Sometimes, she hold a potluck dinner with a theme and give guests options of what to bring An activity is always prepared, because “without an activity, people will gravitate toward the TV”. Activities will range from game night to holidays to TV/Culture themed dinners.

Caroline

Caroline goes out twice a week with her friends. She likes to have friends over, but mostly it’s to host a pregame before going out for the evening. Caroline would love to have people over all the time, but she HATES cleaning her apartment to make sure it is nice for her guests and a disaster after they leave. When Caroline does have people over they are mainly her friends (who are friends with each other). “We will normally hang out until we decide to eat and then we eat.” There is usually no set activity when people come over, but that doesn’t stop an impromptu dance partying from happening. With an expensive apartment and a not-well paying job, Caroline will usually prepare food, but will have guest bring their own alcohol, desserts, or just pay them back for food (e.g. pizza). Caroline likes to be active with her friends, but it doesn’t necessarily need to be at her apartment. She can hang out at a bar, in the park. As long as Caroline is with her friends, she is usually having fun.
