WELCOME FROM BOXER’SCOMMANDING OFFICER

Welcome aboard USS Boxer (LHD 4). A multi-purpose amphibious assault ship, Boxer is capable of performing a multitude of missions in support of national interests and objectives. Boxer and the other ships in the Wasp class are vital to today’s Navy and are intrumental in conducting maritime security operations around the world. Our ability to conduct amphibious operations and support rotary wing aircraft and fixed wing AV-8B Harrier jets places us at the tip of the spear. All of this would mean nothing if it were not for the fine men and women who make up Boxer’s crew. From the engineers down in the engine roon providing power to the ship, to the flight deck crew launching and recovering aircraft, the men and women on board Boxer are commited to meeting every challenge. The Sailors on board this ship demonstrate pride and professionalism in all they do. Thier ability to take fight to the enemy around the world is a testament to the commitment of each Sailor on board. It is with great honor and a deep sense of pride that I welcome you to America’s “Golden Gator.”
