Ideas:

There are many ways to teach Social Studies/Science using PowerPoint.

One idea: If you are going on a field trip, try and get some disposable digital cameras for the students to use on the field trip. When you get back load all the pictures onto a computer so students can access them on any computer.

Con’t.

Have students access the pictures to make a slide show off their favourite part of the field trip, organize the pictures in chronological order/ alphabetical order.

If it was a field trip to the zoo they could put the pictures of the animals in geographical order, order by size, what they eat, sleeping patterns, etc.

Con’t.

A teacher could get students to bring in digital pictures of their summer vacation and put them on a computer so all students could access them.

Put the students in groups and have them sort the pictures by location, province, country, alphabetical order, favourite places, etc. and develop a PowerPoint presentation
