Alkalizing Secret #2 --- Eat Celery…. This is one of the most alkaline foods you can eat. It quickly

neutralizes acids. Eat it before, after or during a meal. Celery is so high in water content that is also works as an excellent thirst quencher. Celery is excellent for digestion.

Alkalizing Secret #3 -- Eat Green Salads – forget the cheese and croutons! Always have a green salad on hand. Make a huge salad every 3 days and keep it in your fridge to make it very easy to alkalize your body. Some greens that have the highest water content are: cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, celery, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, cauliflower, carrots, and onions. A great dressing would be cold pressed extra virgin olive oil with some lemon juice. Keep this in a bowl in your fridge (tip: add cucumbers and tomatoes right before eating). Eat a HUGE salad with every meal!

Alkalizing Secret #4 - Switch from cow’s milk, to almond, soy, or rice milk. Cows milk has shown to produce an abundance of mucous in the human body. There are also few adults who can metabolize the protein in cow’s milk properly. This protein, casein, is what a cow’s metabolism needs for proper health, not for a human beings health. Also note that most dairy cows are injected with hormones such as the Bovine Growth Hormone to increase their milk production. Many of these hormones have potentially horrific side effects that can be passed on when consumed. Almond, soy and or rice milk are excellent alternatives to dairy. They are well worth trying out.

Alkalizing Secret #5 – Avoid artificial sweeteners! This includes: NutraSweet, Sucralose, Aspartame, Saccharin…. There is one natural sugar substitute that has had no reported side effects: Stevia. Xylitol is a natural sweetener that is made by the body and can also be used in place of sugar.

Alkalizing Secret #6 - Eat a grapefruit in the morning wait 15 minutes before ingesting a carb or protein. Grapefruit, similar to lemons, is also alkalizing when ingested. Some people believe grapefruit to be a miracle fruit and I tend to support that group. Grapefruits have a very high water content and are highly alkalizing. Eat one first thing in the morning, and wait 15 minutes before eating a carbohydrate or protein (one or the other – do not mix). (The 15-minute suggestion is in accordance with proper food combining and allows your system to more easily digest. This recommendation applies to eating any fruit – fruit shouldn’t be combined with any other food type. Once eaten, wait 15 before consuming any other food type…ie: protein or carbohydrate).

Alkalizing Secret #7 - Eliminate consumption of red meat, pork, lamb…substitute chicken, turkey or fresh fish in small quantities. Red meats, pork and lamb are highly acidic a very low water content, not to mention being hard on the digestive system. If you must have meat, opt for chicken or turkey. How to Alkalize Blood

Creating an alkaline environment in the body may help prevent disease and support the body's defenses to promote health, according to Felicia Drury Kliment in her book, "The Acid-Alkaline Balance Diet." When the body produces too many acids, a condition known as acidosis occurs, which keeps systems from functioning to their full potential and may allow disease states to worsen. Using foods and other edible food additives to alkalize the blood and stabilize the pH may help bring the body back into a state of balance.

Step 1

Make a drink with 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 8 oz. water and consuming it all at once. Baking soda neutralizes stomach acids and helps to alkalize the blood systemically, according to Drugs.com. This drink is especially helpful if you suffer from acid reflux and should be taken in between meals to reduce burning pain. Baking soda can raise blood pressure, so if you are taking blood pressure medication, consult your doctor before using this recipe.

Step 2

Add fresh lemon juice to your water at meals to change the pH and alkalize your blood, suggests Total-Health-Care.com. Lemon is high in potassium, which helps the kidneys better control blood pressure and keeps urine alkaline rather than overly acidic.

Step 3

Mix 1 to 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar in a 8 oz. glass of water and drink at once. Dr. Theodore Baroody explains how apple cider vinegar is one of the most important foods to help aid the body in maintaining an alkaline pH. Drink at least one glass daily to alter your body's pH. Because the baking soda has been neutralized, it is not as problematic and will not cause your blood pressure to rise the way plain baking soda does.

The pH is a chemical rating system used to measure acidity in a solution. In the human body, pH balance is disturbed by mainly poor diet and, when left unchecked, high levels of acid in the body can lead to most degenerative diseases. Keeping the body's pH levels balanced can be done by improving diet, consuming more fruit and vegetables including dark leafy greens, but it can also be achieved with the ingestion of sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate, also known as baking soda, is a natural antacid and a cheap, yet effective, way of balancing pH levels in the body.

Step 1

Purchase distilled water and baking soda from a health food store. This will ensure there are no unwanted chemicals in the products. This would be ideal but not mandatory. If an organic or natural food store cannot be reached or is too expensive, try a trusted brand of sodium bicarbonate available at your grocery store.

Step 2

Mix 1/4 tsp. baking soda with a glass of water. Drink it on an empty stomach once a day, preferably in the morning. This may have to be done for a few days before a pH balance is achieved.

Step 3

Purchase a pH test kit from a health food store or pharmacy and test pH levels in the body. Different test kits may have different instructions, so read the label for directions. Baking Soda Boosts Athletic Performance by Alkalizing the Body

(NaturalNews) Baking soda can indeed increase athletes' speed, according to a pair of recent studies giving confirmation to a belief that scientists have long been skeptical of.

For years, professional athletes have sworn by "soda doping," the practice of taking baking soda before competitive sporting event in order to improve speed and endurance.

In the first study, researchers from Loughborough University gave baking soda to nine swimmers, finding that eight of them reduced their time in a 200 meter race by an average of 1.5 seconds.

"At the last Olympics, the top four swimmers in the men's 200 meter freestyle were separated by just 1.4 seconds," lead researcher Jonathan Folland said. "So, in theory, it could be the difference between winning a medal and not."

In the second study, researchers from the American College Sports Medicine gave either a capsule of baking soda or a placebo pill to a number of runners in an 800 meter dash. A number of those taking baking soda suffered from indigestion, a well-known side effect.

"If you took out the participants who experienced negative side-effects ... you'd see an average improvement in running times of about 2.2 seconds," said lead researcher Ronald Deitrick. "For a relatively short running distance, that's very significant."

Researchers believe that baking soda increases athletes' speeds due to its well-known alkaline nature - the same nature that makes it function well as a cleaning product or antacid. Baking soda, scientists believe, prevents the buildup of the waste products of anaerobic exercise, such as lactic acid, that can lead to soreness or fatigue.

The new findings raise the question of whether baking soda should be added to the list of banned substances in sporting competitions.

"It comes down to whether or not the athlete has a competitive advantage by taking an aid," Deitrick said. "And in the case of sodium bicarbonate, I believe the answer is yes. It violates the spirit of fair play by artificially enhancing performance."

Ted's Alkalizing Formulas

Updated: 07/21/2012

The formulas:

1. ACID DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS AND EXTREME ACIDITY FORMULA

1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/2 glass of water taken after every meal. I am assuming you take three meals a day. So this would mean you take it twice a day. This will help the digestion and stop the constipation.

2. ALKALIZING THE BLOOD FORMULA

1/4 teaspoon of baking soda added to only 1/2 glass of water. This is taken once in the morning and once before bedtime.

3. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA FORMULA

Two tablespoon of ACV plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. Take this two to three times a day on an empty stomach. It is supposed to give you more energy. The pH of this formula is about 7.

4. LEMON BICARBONATE FORMULA

This simple formula will normalized many biological parameters, pH, ORP, phosphates, icarbonates and antioxidants of vitamin C. A potential miracle water. One whole lemon freshly squeezed. Keep adding baking soda slowly bit by bit until the fizz stops. Then you will add water to one half glass. This is often taken twice a day. To be taken once in the morning and once before bedtime on an empty stomach.

5. LIME BICARBONATE FORMULA

Same as above, but I use lime instead. The lime formula is the one I actually used in Bangkok and all measurements that normalized many biological parameters were based on lime formula. The reason is simple: lemon is non-existent in Bangkok. We use only lime. One whole lime freshly squeezed. Keep adding baking soda slowly bit by bit until the fizz stops. Then you will add water to one half glass. This is often taken either twice a day on an empty stomach, once in the morning and once before bedtime.

Note: Basically, lemon/lime juice idea is also good for people who fear some sodium retention issues. Since the lemon is already high on potassium, adding the sodium to neutralize the acid along the way will also create a sodium potassium balance.

6. FOR PEOPLE WITH SODIUM ISSUES

a) 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda 1/16 teaspoon of potassium bicarbonate 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid. Add water to 1/2 glass of water. Take this twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening on an empty stomach. This is done to avoid diarrhea problems, if taken along with food.

b) One whole freshly squeezed lemon (or lime) and keep adding the bicarbonate until the fizz stops. The bicarbonate is made of 50/50, sodium bicarbonate and potassium bicarbonate. Sorry, sodium must always be there to achieve somewhat of a sodium/potassium balance. Take this twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening on an empty stomach. This is done to avoid diarrhea problems, if taken along with food.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

To make these alkalizing formulas work, it is necessary that you drink plenty of water while you are eating any food. The water you drink will allow the food to be properly pH neutralized so that there is no "pockets" of acid that exists. Chewing and eating slowly is another thing that helps.

To allow the foods to be properly digested without unnecessary acid/base interaction in foods. Make sure you eat just one kind of food category for one meal, and another kind of food a category for another meals. It tends to bring homogeneity and less upset for the stomach. So do not eat many kinds of food in one meal.

If you want just protein, then protein for morning meal. And maybe starch for lunch meal, then finally a vegetarian meal in the evening.

Make sure the last meal of the day is a light meal so the body doesn't need to do extra homework while it is resting during the night!

And to repeat again: drink plenty of water while you are eating. Do not try to conserve water to sacrifice pH imbalances. Water is a natural neutralizer. Ted"

Often the best times to start can be in the morning, early afternoon, or late evening. owever, the best times seems to be in the afternoon or evening because that is the time that the body's pH has the most problem. Morning is really never much a problem bcecause the body had enough rest.

In my opinion the best formula to use is the lime-baking soda formula, after drinking it many biological terrain parameters would be normalized the best. But when people do get sick,

certain problems of very specific nutrition had to be addressed first depending on the condition. If the body's pH buffer is quite serious, such as an acid tongue, then it is very likely baking soda alone would do. In some cases of acid reflux, of course ACV and baking soda would work.

If you are having trouble getting your pH to normal despite efforts to take plenty of icarbonates, then a lime baking soda formula would do best. But there are also a hidden problem of your diets, often it is the bread, vitamin B6 (usually in HCl form, instead of the correct pyridoxine 5 phosphate form, too much table salt instead of sea salt (too much halogens and not enough minerals on the left handed side of the periodic tables!), or drinking excess coke, and coffee.

One case had a love of pizzas and burgers which after I asked him to discontinue, his pH went to normal within one day, but he too had to take the bicarbonate still, from some of the meats he eat. This is unusually fast since he had trouble normalizing the pH for over a month, despite taking baking soda.

If your body is of low energy level, then an ACV and bicarbonate would do. In fact this issue becomes quite common in U.S. on low energy level, which is why ACV remains most popular so far. The problems often occurs when ACV is alone. The correct way of taking it is to use ACV and plenty of baking soda.

It also is indicative of subnormal levels of iodine that the body. Often in my opinion, a decolorized form of iodine is better then a povidone iodine. While I have not yet gotten a chance to measure the U.S. form of decolorized form of Iodine (I make my own), the ORP of decolorized form of iodine is often better and less acid forming than a non-decolorized form of iodine. But this is just a theory of mine as well as the advantages of non-staining. Ted"

How to Do the Saliva pH Test

Wait at least 2 hours after eating. Fill your mouth with saliva and then swallow it. Do this again to help ensure that the saliva is clean. Then the third time, put some saliva onto pH paper.

The pH paper should turn blue. This indicates that your saliva is slightly alkaline at a healthy pH of 7.4. If it is not blue, compare the color with the chart that comes with the pH paper. If your saliva is acid (below pH of 7.0) wait two hours and repeat the test.

Where to Get pH Paper

It would be good if health food stores and pharmacies would stock pH paper. Why not go to your local health food store or pharmacy and suggest this to them? There are many suppliers of pH paper. Look for laboratory suppliers in the phone book. You want narrow range pH paper measuring pH 4.5 to 7.5 or pH 4.5 to 8.5. One source is Micro Essential Laboratory Inc., Brooklyn, N.Y. 11210 telephone 718-338-3618. They will send you a catalogue. When sending a container of pH paper through the mail to a friend, a single roll dispenser (catalog #334 that measures pH 4.5 - 7.5) is quite sturdy and should not break. However, the Jumbo strips (catalog #3827) in the more fragile plastic tube container are larger and easier to read. These pH strips to measure acid/alkaline balance belong in every family medicine kit, right beside the thermometer to measure body temperature.

Saliva pH and Cancer

Alkalizing your water at home is performed with a water distiller, an ionizer, a filter or by adding a number of natural ingredients. Use the following information to learn various ways for how to alkalize water at home.

Purchase a pH testing kit. This first step is crucial for determining your base acidity level. The kits typically contain strips of stiff paper that change color based on the pH when placed into water. The kit also should include a color chart that explains what each color means relevant to the pH scale. Water is naturally a 7 on the scale, but impurities in the water tend to tip the scale toward the left (more acidic). The ideal pH level for pure drinking water is an 8 or a 9, which is achieved through alkalizing the water.

Get a water distiller. Water distillers range in size and price and can be found in stores with kitchen appliances. Many water distillers resemble coffee makers.

The distillation process purifies the water, removing bacteria by increasing the temperature of the water to boiling. A water distiller can make your home water slightly more alkaline, but its main job is purification and the removal of toxins.

Buy a water ionizer. Pour your home tap water, or your already distilled water, into the product. The ionizer separates the alkaline particles of the water from the acidic particles of

This type of filter is known as a hyperfilter, and it uses an especially fine membrane for iltration.

The delicacy of the filter allows it to capture more elements than regular water filters, which ltimately alkalizes the water more completely.

Add 1/8 tbsp (600 mg) baking soda to an 8 oz. (0.237 liters) glass of water to achieve a similar effect. If you do not have baking soda, you can purchase pH drops from most health stores to make water alkaline.

For any of the methods of alkalizing water, more water will be used than what will be drinkable at the end of the process. For the reverse osmosis method, if you want 1 gallon (3.785 liters) of pure water, you may need as much as 3 gallons (11.356 liters) of tap water to start.
