Clickers as an Assessment Tool in a Middle School Classroom

The Clickers allow teachers to address questions about the lesson and assess student comprehension of the lesson.

This can be done immediately because of the response that students provide with the Clickers

Clickers as an Assessment Tool Cont.

To start the assessment, a PowerPoint is created with a set of math questions that has multiple choice answers.

The Clickers are labeled by giving each student a number.

As the slides are displayed, the students use the Clicker to give their response by choosing the correct letter

Visual Display

After each answer is scored a graph is displayed to give a percentage of right and wrong answers.

Based on the graph, the teacher can determine the students’ level of understanding and plan further instruction
