FORWARD THINKINGThe FM Environmental Group, incorporating its Malta based Mediterranean and Middle East sales office, is one of Irelands and the UK’s longest established water and wastewater engineering companies.

Available to end-users, service partners and management companies, Grease Guardian World enables accurate and traceable maintenance records, manuals, installation details, pump out frequencies and other information to be stored on-line and easily accessed by the click of a button.

GREASE PROBLEMS AND THE SOLUTIONWHY IS GREASE SO PROBLEMATIC?Each year millions of tons of fats oils and grease (FOG) enter the facility drainage and sewerage systems throughout the United States. Grease will stick to pipes, valves, manholes, pump stations and eventually cause blockages.

FOG gets just about everywhere and can seriously damage waste water treatment equipment, costing municipalities millions on dollars in repairs every year. Fats, oils and grease (FOG), if allowed to enter natural water courses will cause obvious damage to the environment.

Grease is a problem for most towns and cities municipalities and consequently legislation to prevent FOG pollution is being enforced. Polluters face large fines or closure if they fail to manage their FOG waste effectively. Luckily there are numerous systems for handling FOG. Active Grease Removal Units can be installed by kitchen operators to trap FOG at source and remove it before any damage is caused.

STAGE 1: Solids CollectionWastewater from the kitchen is directed through the inlet of the Grease Guardian where a removable dry strainer basket collects any incidental solids

STAGE 2: Grease & Oil SeparationGrease in the wastewater floats to the surface and is trapped while the clear water leaves the unit and enters the drainage system.

STAGE 3: Active Grease RemovalThe PLC controlled heating element is activated to liquefy grease, which is then removed by the skimming wheel and deposited into a portable container for recycling.
