promote, protect, and enhance the Nation’s

economy, security, environment, and quality

of life.

NMFSStewardship of living

marine resources through science-based

conservation and management and the promotion of healthy

ecosystems.

NOSTranslates science, tools, and services into action,

to address threats to coastal areas in the

environment, all working towards healthy coasts and healthy economies.

OARConduct research to

understand and predict the Earth system;

develop technology to improve NOAA science,

service and stewardship; and translate the results

so they are useful to society.

NWSProvide weather,

water, and climate data, forecasts and

warnings for the protection of life and

property and enhancement of the national economy.

OMAODeliver effective Earth

observation capabilities, integrate

emerging technologies, and

provide a specialized, flexible, and reliable team responsive to

Teaming Opportunities:Grants and Contracts

We recommend that MSIs: Introduce themselves as potential sources

for services and products Demonstrate your understanding of our

programmatic mission and how you can effectively team with us.

Page 35: U.S. Department of Commerce Strategies for MSIs Interested in Contract Opportunities

Strategies for Teaming

Like many for-profit businesses with little Federal acquisition experience, it may be necessary for an MSI to team with another entity, e.g., another MSI, IHE, or small business.

Teaming takes the form of prime/subcontractor or joint venture.
