This project was derived from the word “incomplete”, by finding an incomplete building (a project which had become disused or never finished) to be analyzed with reference to the context of the city in order to find poten-tial opportunities for future development.

De La Warr Pavilion, case study site, address at Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex TN40 1DP (south east of UK). It stands by the sea side of the Bexhill town centre. This gigantic entertainment building built in 1935 for the Bexhill-on-sea town development plan by 9th Earl De La Warr(mayor of Bexhill 1933-1935). The pavilion was meant to be a new landmark. By the existing of the building has marked the town on the map. The pavilion has completed the town up as to be a luxury seaside resort town. Many activities had been launched in-side. This gigantic facility has already full-fill the town. Unfortunately, the world war has thorn the town out in 1939. People moved out. Ho-tels were closed. Schools were evacuated. At last it turns the town to an elderly residential seaside town. The pavilion itself has turned to be a heart of activity for the old. But to spur the economic for the town the pavilion was re-generated to survive as an art culture gallery in 1999. The change has made a silence impact to the town.

Comparing concept for space using between past and present

The main objective of this thesis was to de-velop and argue for a design project through historical research and writing. Both writing and design have analysed the solution based on the current situation and also with the future predictable circumstance. The main argument of this thesis is hence the direct rela-tion of analysis to a proposition: any change of ur-ban facility also has to bear in mind the history and the impact of the social well-being. The urban planner or designer needs to understand the circumstance in each situation clearly as to stand in the right posi-tion. In somehow, it is research and the investment in ‘knowledge’ and its documentation that might provide the planner and his /her collaborators with the neces-sary tools of decision-making.

From the earlier issue the problem con-cerning the incomplete of the regenera-tion was the change of the De La Warr Pavilion use. Hence, most of the residen-tial were lacking of the space to do the activity as the pavilion was meant to be a public facility for the town at first place.

The risen up of the elderly has produced a distribution of the elderly in many areas across England, especially south east of the country as the number of the elderly has risen up from 26 % from 1980 to 34 % in mid 2009 of all the elderly popula-tion number.

As the case study site, Bexhill popula-tion has changed as the immigration trend was spread to the south east of England. The elderly population dramati-cally change by the year 1970-1990 and increase over 45 percent of all the popu-lation number.

The analyses of the density show how the town movement as the elderly has emerged after the year 1970.

Then to sympathize how the circulation in town were made, overlap-ping all the circulation was use to show which area were most used. To construct clearly, separate each group by the age will display how each age circulate clearly.

As the solution the link in which this study has concern to improve the use of the facility has been found. Analyze the main public facility around the link by the criteria identified as vi-tal were: availability, financial viability, impact, profile and quality, unique selling point, attrac-tion, health, grouping community, fit with the De La Warr Pavilion.

Having applied these first criteria, 6 sites were asses in detail:

Site 1: Sainsbury’s – site size 7,067 m²Site 2: De La Warr pavilion– site size 1,218 m²Site 3: Town hall – site size 3,589 m²Site 4: The De La Warr pavilion parking space- site size 5,975 m²Site 5: Bexhill Senior Citizens Club – site size 950 m²Site 6: Bexhill community health centre club- site size 985 m²

The most suitable options were concluded to be the sea front and Sainsbury site. The connection between both sites and other sites were not connecting with each other enough.

The Sainsbury site was identified as an im-portant development area to draw visitors through the town.

The sea front is a high profile space that could be available in the short term. It offers signifi-cant scope for business, education, and so-cial and leisure developments.

To improve the transport and the linkage will increase the latency of the town.

In the early stages of the design approach, the conclusion from the spatial analysis has analysed the approach link which will stimu-late the relation and the activity for the town. As it has been concern by far the problem of the space is about the space relation also with facility space need. And from that rea-son, I began developing a visual theory of an inside out to strengthen the centre area. While creating more facility space will be al-low to put in the pedestrian area, strengthen the commercial in town centre, connecting each part of the town with easier connec-tion, creating sense of the seaside town by visionary; using the advantage of the urban geography as this town has the sea combin-ing with the mountain slope. To create more vision of the seaside will also be a part of the design. Although the concept is criticised as surreal, it remains as contemporary theory of a universal design balancing between all age of people to be able to use the space.

To complete the design task, improving pub-lic space and strengthen the pedestrian from the residential area to the seaside is required. The most suitable options were concluded as the connection from sea front and the rail-way station. The connection between both sites and other sites need to connect with each other. Therefore, putting more public facility in the space will persuade and allow the people to use the space more. The sea-side walkway towards the pavilion is also the public space which needed be concern as to support the user including the wheelchair access. Including the high street analyze the space for public activity still lack. As the pro-posal concept explain the idea to extend the pedestrian to create more facility space in-cluding strengthen the access ability for the shops in the street.

As a result the design brings the sense of the seaside town back to live. Moreover, the space problem has been solved. The town centre has been reborn. As a part from this the second proposal was influenced by the knowledge gained through my site interven-tions and was an attempt to develop a con-cept of a seaside city. The outcome was a model of inserted landscape integrated with the inside out concept .Bringing different cen-tre areas along the seaside combine with the design link concept. As a result the seaside town has now generated the seaside panora-ma perspective. I used the advantage of the urban geography, the slope of the mountain with the perspective of the sea as a design concept.

The concept of the panorama link was influ-enced by the concept of creating more fa-cility space and the recent methodologies of creating the sense of the town centre. From this point the concerning of the facility space needed for the elderly has been found. The design has generated a public space which can be served all the age user in which also including the concept to create the identity of the seaside city along with the De La Warr pavilion.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN 02DESIGN FOR ALL Project type: Urban planning and design Disable facility in urban area. Urban facility such as pedestrian, road, lamp, etc. Location: Rachadamneon road, Bangkok

This project focus mainly about dis-able people in Bangkok, Thailand. The facility for disablity people in Bangkok which is still lacking and did not focus enough for disable people.

At Rachadamneon road, site area, is where many disable people especially blind and lame come together to sell lotto for their living.

However, the urban facility in this area did not suite for disable people. There-fore, this project study their lifestyle use in area and analyse the space which will help and improve the use for all.

Nakorn sawan province is the place where main river Ping, Wang, Yom and Nan meet and become to be “Jao Pra Ya” river. In past time this province uesd to be a port city for all trading in Thailand. But as time goes by the trading way has changed. As a result this town has change from a port city to a countryside village.

In this project has focused mainly in the change of the town and research for town development potential by:

As the conclusion after the 3 alternative plan for Nakorn Sawan should focus mainly in processing industry for argriculture.

The up rise in the population of New Delhi is mainly due to the mi-gration of people to the capital in search of better living standard.

The people living below the pov-erty line accounted to 8.23% of the total population in 1999-2000 and recorded the highest per- centage of crime report in India.

The population of New Delhi is ex-pected to rise to 40% by 2021. The total density of Delhi is 9340 per sq km.

After Mumbai, Tokyo, and Japan, Delhi is expected to become the third largest aggregation in the globe by the year 2015. the popu-lation of New Delhi together with Delhi as a whole has ascended to 46.3% in 1991-2001.

“Delhi, being a low-density sprawl of even distribution, cannot support an economical mass transport system. Because of its evenly-spread mesh land use, it’s best for Delhi’s people to be individually mobile.”,Charles Correa, 1980

In conclusion this study has shown that Delhi is predicted to continue its growth to be inexpediently more dense in the next decade. Serious efforts, including a number of trans-port infrastructure projects, under way to encourage usage of public transport in the city.

Other than the general public is ben-efited by its safe and efficient servic-es. Visible changes due to the Metro system can already be seen all over, huge rise in prices of properties along the Metro line, shifting of mul-tinational companies offices to new suburb or satellite cities. In the long run, the system is going to integrate the capital to its satellite towns by saving public travelling time to those areas. The city is defi- nitely going to be re-shaped.

In past Thai culture used to stay together in a big family. Nows a day people moved to a town house. Elderly people have to stayed in high rise building.

Working with the Royal Thai embassy is a very good opportunity for my life. I have been working in many of event project. My duty is to control and make sure that every event run smoothly. One of my pride working at the embassy is the booklet which I create for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn as she came a celebration of 20th year of the Thai Music Circle, Thai music band.
