Interview Questions

1. Q: Why do you want to work in this industry?

A: Tell a story about how you first became interested in this type of work. Point out

similarities between the job you’re interviewing for and your most recent job. Make your

passion for your work a theme that you allude to throughout the interview.

My answer: What made me want to become a medical assistant is my dad. My dad was sick

with heart failure. Growing up watching him suffer from the pain, hurt me very much. I

wanted to make his illness go away. From that day on I knew I wanted to become a medical

assistant.

2. Q: Why should we hire you?

A: This addresses the candidate’s motivation for adding “true value” (beyond what’s

expected) to the job. What specific qualities and transferable skills make you stand out from

the competition? Have you had a specific job experience that would make you more valuable

to the employer? Have you had multiple promotions? What makes you unique and

irreplaceable? What’s the most compelling item you can describe to prove your

qualifications and interest? Is there something extra you offer besides the basic job

qualifications? *** GIVE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES TO SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER. ***

My answer: why should you guys hire me because I may not have the experience but what

made me stand out the most is that I’m a good listener, and I’m a good team player. The

reason why I say that is because I make sure my patients and my coworkers can understand

me. And say to themselves that I can trust her, I can tell her anything.

projects to the job you’re interviewing for. Name a couple skills and tell how and when you

used them at school or in the workplace. *** PROVIDE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES FOR THIS

QUESTION. ***

My answer: Two skills that I learn from school is doing the vital signs and the injections. The

reason why I say that is because I felt that doing the vital signs and the injection has made me

feel like I’m doing a good job and that has a MA im doing it the right way.

suit her daughter the most, the lady was please with the dress but she kept on saying no I

thought someone say yes. The elderly lady got mad.

R: The manager came to solve the problem; I told another employer that it was my fault I

didn’t look carefully and she told me to tell the manager. I went to tell the manager and he

say it was okay. I went to say sorry to the elderly lady and she forgave me. I told her that she

can look at Target or Wal-Mart for the frozen dolls.

S: There was a time that the team leader in the women’s department wanted all the cloth out

before the store open.

A: I told my coworkers that work with me that day that we must work together as a team to

put all the cloth away. We also gave each other tacks to do. After we were all done with one

rack we help each other with one. By the time we know it was already time for the customers

to come and shop. We all look at each other, and we all plan to talk to the team leader in the
