WHY STUDY @ PORT MACQUARIE?

IMPORTANT DATES - 2016

Nestled on NSW’s mid-north coast, Port Macquarie is world-famous for its stunning white-sand beaches and rolling coastline. As a city, it boasts a vibrant cultural and shop-ping precinct, and a friendly community spirit.

With the launch of UNSW’ s Shared Research and Education Campus (SHREC), Port Mac-quarie is now on the map as a regional hub of excellence in medical and allied healthcare training and research.

So if you are keen to get an award-winning medical education and enjoy life in one of Australia’s premier beach destinations, UNSW’s Port Macquarie Campus might be for you!

Through this program, medical students have the opportunity to complete their entire six-year medical degree outside of Sydney, in the regional centre of Port Macquarie. Alternatively, students can choose to complete the first two years of their degree at Port Macquarie Campus, and do their final years at UNSW’s Sydney campus or another rural campus.

With its cutting-edge facilities and first-rate teaching staff, UNSW’s Port Macquarie Cam-pus will give medical students the option to do all six years of their medical program — from the initial coursework to clinical placements — in Port Macquarie.

Students at the Port Macquarie Campus will be offered the same course content and teaching excellence as Sydney-based students.

With incredible beaches and friendly academic, professional and hospital staff, Port Macquarie Cam-pus offers an amazing life-work balance. There is a great sense of camaraderie amongst students who provide each other with personal and academic support — ranging from peer-tutorials to engaging in social events that take advantage of the stunning natural surroundings.
