JÜLICH 2010

The term 'soft matter' refers roughly to materials that respond

readily even to modest stimuli. This responsiveness motivates at

present a wide range of technologies, cf. Nature

Objective:JÜLICH 2010

Object of Interest:JÜLICH 2010

Soft matter forms a multitude of mesoscopic structures using its wealth of freedom degrees. By applying external fields such as normal or shear loads, electric fields, or guests’ inclusions, and the likes, the mesostructures show up structural transitions, which brings an appreciable change of the physical properties.

Powodem tych różnych form jest to zo zwykle - dążenie do minimum energii. Powoduje ono występowanie dwóch konkurencyjnych efektów <klik> foldingu i agregacji.
