CourseDescription Fromtheeconomytotheenvironmentandfrompoliticstoentertainment,creativityisanendlesslyrenewableresourcethatoffersbenefitsforallcitizensandmaywellbethemost important human element for our future. Students from all disciplines caninvestigatethepracticesandprocessesofcreativityandexplorethewaysinwhichitcanhelpenrichtheirlives.
CourseOverview Creativityisnotexclusivetomusicians,performersorartists.Manypeopleincorrectlythinkthattheylackcreativityandthatitisanabilitythatcannotbelearned.Thiscourseisdesignedtodemonstratethatcreativityexistsineveryoneinamultiplicityofways.Itisaskillthatcanbelearnedandincorporatedintoeverydiscipline,decision,andaspectofone’slifetogenerateopportunitiesandpossibilities.Everyword,object,andactionisanoccasionforcreativeingenuity.Thiscoursewillinvestigateandconsiderthewaystoencourageandfostercreativity,aswellasmeansthatcreativityisthwarted.

SCPAClaimYourSeatProgram:StudentGuidelines
1. TheClaimYourSeat(CYS)programallowsallUniversityofCalgarystudentstoattendon-campusSchoolofCreativeandPerformingArts(Dance,DramaandMusic)eventsfreeofcharge.
2. Dependingontheperformance,thereisalimitednumberofseatsavailableforCYS.ThereisnotaguaranteethatticketswillbeavailableforallCYSpatronsforeveryperformance,basedonaudiencesize,demand,etc.
3. CYSticketsareaprivilege.Ifastudentreceivesatickettoattendaperformance,itisexpectedthattheywillrespectthevalueoftheadmissionandattendtheperformance.
4. Processforstudents:Onthedateoftheperformance,from45minutespriorto15minutespriortotheperformancestarttime,theyarrivetotheCYStablenexttotheBoxOfficeandshowtheirUnicard.Ifstudentsarriveafter15minutespriortotheperformancestarttime,theycangototheBoxOfficeandpurchaseaticketatthestudentrate.StudentsshouldnotgototheBoxOfficeunlesstheyarepurchasingaticket.
