No, we do not teach to the textbook,

HOWEVER, textbook = organization

For some subjects, you can move around the textbook (Science, Health)

For other subjects, it can be beneficial to use the order of the material presented in the textbook (Math, Social Studies)

In English, often you will move all over the textbook based on your design of your unit.

Be sure to include a variety of activities (audio, visual, kinesthetic) to encourage student learning.
