After being practised on the streets of Kuwait, this sport had been brought to the public for the first time as a competition. Red Bull Urban Jump boasts the best 30-40 freerunners in Kuwait. The participants have to reach their limits in a safe and competitive environment.

The event features two categories Parkour and Freerunning/Freestyle. Parkour (in English is the art of moving) is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one’s path by adapting one’s movements to the environment. Participants run along a route attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way possible, as if moving in an emergency situation. Skills such as jumping and climbing, or the more specific parkour moves are employed. The object of parkour is to get from one place to another using only the human body and the objects in the environment.

Freerunning is a form of urban acrobatics in which participants, known as free runners, use the city and rural landscape to perform movements through its structures. It incorporates efficient movements from parkour, adds aesthetic vaults and other acrobatics, such as tricking and street stunts, creating an athletic and aesthetically pleasing way of moving. It is commonly practiced at gymnasiums and in urban areas that are cluttered with obstacles.

Challenging obstacles are being built for this event such as plateaus, walls and wooden boxes. The participating athletes will perform breathtaking flips, spins and jumps from walls as well as somersaults over car roofs.

26 years old Ryan Doyle who won the 2009 Red Bull Art of Motion World Championship was available in Kuwait to judge and perform a show during the event. Doyle said before the event: “I am very excited to come to Kuwait and help the scene to develop; this is an amazing new sport which shows lots of skills and acrobatic moves. I am very positive that the guys will perform an excellent show for the audience. From what I have seen on the internet, the level in Kuwait looks very promising.”

The first ever Freerunning competition in Kuwait, Red Bull Urban Jump, took place on March 12, 2010 at the eXtreme Skate Park

located at the Marina.

This is not the first time NBK has organized such an offer. Al Shabab Account holders may recall that even last summer they were entitled to discounts at movie theatres across the country during the month of July.

ExxonMobil announces winners of its Science TripEssay CompetitionFinalists to fly to London and visit UK refinery

ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Kuwait Limited announced today the winners of the “ExxonMobil BBS Science Trip Essay

Competition” launched in collaboration with Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) in January 2010. Finalists were rewarded a five-day trip to London in April 2010, during which they will visit Imperial College, one of the UK’s most prestigious universities, in addition to ExxonMobil’s UK refinery.

The ‘ExxonMobil BBS Science Trip Essay Competition’ was launched as part of ExxonMobil’s ongoing support for education in Kuwait. The competition required participants to write an essay on what they deem as the most significant scientific achievement of the last decade, and defending their case by arguing its impact on society.

The eight winners, Mohammed Rakan Al-Sabah, Nasser Bahzad, Nour Ghadanfar, Aseel Al-Salem, Dawood Almatar, Marwan Al Enezi, Jassim AlBahar and Soud Al-Rashed were picked by a panel of judges comprised of ExxonMobil Kuwait and BBS staff.

ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Kuwait Limited President, Mr. John Hoholick, said: “We actively support educational initiatives and programs that stimulate students’ interest in math and science because we believe that education plays a major role in building future skills. We are very excited to welcome the winners to our UK refinery where they will learn more about the oil and gas industry.”

Bayan Bilingual School Principal, Mr. Jihad Sadeddin, said: “This competition allows students to express their views while supporting it with an analytical argumentation based on what they’ve learnt in math and science classes at school. The competition is a great way to nurture their young minds with knowledge and passion and we thank ExxonMobil Kuwait for its continuous collaborations in educational programs here in Kuwait.”

Globally and in Kuwait, ExxonMobil is an active supporter of engaging students in the fields of math, science, and analytical thinking. In Kuwait, ExxonMobil is the founder of the annual Kuwait Science Fair competition, Kuwait>s largest math and science competition launched in 2008. ExxonMobil Kuwait also organizes yearly educational trips for students, and for the last two years, about 40 students have visited Qatar, courtesy of the company.

In a press conference held today, organizers of the better health initiative gethealthykuwait.com announced that Kuwait has lost

1221 kilograms of body fat, equivalent to an average of 51 kilograms per week or 7.3 kilograms per day, since the launch of the campaign in June 23, 2009; a direct result of the campaign’s weight loss program and community outreach events.

The amount of weight lost is calculated by Diet Care and Taiba Hospital based on weight checks of GHK subscribers conducted at the beginning and the end of their 28-day weight loss program.

According to the World Health Organization, over 25% of people in Kuwait suffer from diabetes or its complications, while other studies show that over 80% of Kuwait is overweight. Gethealthykuwait.com is a community-based initiative that helps people get healthy through real, one-on-one help.

GHK Chief Nutritionist and Diet Care Operations Manager Sami Al Bader said: “We are very excited to announce these results following six months of non-stop outreach initiatives to people across Kuwait. Jafza based Nestlé Middle East FZE, the regional headquarters of Nestlé Group, the world’s largest nutrition, health and wellness

company, commenced full fledged production in its new facility in TechnoPark.

Built over an area of 6.5 million square feet, the new 1.78 million square ft. facility is currently devoted to producing powdered milk and the repacking of Mackintosh’S Quality Street chocolates. Nestlé plans to start manufacturing chocolates and wafers, as well as water from the new facility later in 2010.

“The production capacity of the new facility will be more than 100,000 tons per year. We have made enough provision to expand our operations to meet growing market demands for the next few years,” said Yves Manghardt, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé Middle East FZE, commenting on Nestlé’s new manufacturing facility.

“The Middle East region is part of the Nestlé Group’s Asia, Oceania and Africa Zone, and is considered as a region having tremendous growth potential. We have invested more than US$ 400 million in the Middle East over the years and our new multi million dollar manufacturing facility in TechnoPark is another testimonial to our deep commitment to this region,” he further added.

Performance, efficiency and driving fun is what MINIMALISM stands for and is why the 2010 MINI, MINI Clubman and MINI Cabrio

have a revised range of petrol engines. Modifications to all MINI engines include targeted updates that further increase performance and considerably reduce CO2 emissions.

Also joining the model line up for 2010 are two variants of the new MINI One MINIMALISM Line, as well as the MINI One Cabrio. ‘MINIMALISM’, is the term derived by MINI, that incorporates all technological measures designed to further increase the driving fun typical of the brand but at the same time keeps both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as low as possible. In the new MINI petrol powerplants, measures such as reducing friction and improving heat management in the basic engine have enabled further improvements in efficiency. These engines are now served by a map-controlled oil pump which ensures extremely efficient use of energy.

The new engine fitted in the MINI Cooper S, MINI Cooper S Clubman and MINI Cooper S Cabrio, is the world’s most efficient unit in its class. It develops maximum output of 184bhp and has peak torque of 240 Nm that can dip to an engine speed as low as 1,600 rpm. VALVETRONIC technologies from BMW engines have also been incorporated in the latest MINI Cooper S 1.6-litre engine. These new

Etisalat Remains Positiveand is Reaching beyond the Economic Crisis at Mobile World Congress 2010

Etisalat is currently participating or investigating opportunities across North Africa and the Middle East. Omran indicated six possible markets which would involve both the acquisition of green-field licenses within markets with low penetration levels and industry consolidation stressing that size and scale are extremely important for to avoid small operators being marginalized. “Etisalat is in an excellent position – financially and operationally to capitalize on these opportunities,” Omran added.

Etisalat is committed to investing in new technologies across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Broadband and fiber-optic fixed-line infrastructure is a clear example of such an investment. Etisalat has deployed fiber-optic networks in Sudan and also in the UAE to great effect and will shortly begin offering GPON connectivity to the home with a capacity of 10Gbps shared between 32 residences –a 400% increase to what is currently on offer today.

Etisalat also announced that it has started the commercial trial of LTE, an important step towards 4G. The expected date for launching LTE services in UAE is by the end of 2010. Later in the first half of this year, Etisalat will be introducing new technology which will enable downloads of up to 42mbps, which will grow to 84mbps by end of year.

In conclusion Mohammad Omran highlighted Etisalat’s commitment to environmental initiatives. “Etisalat has successfully combined the welfare of the environment and advanced technology by investing in fiber optic networks can enhance the energy efficiency of our networks and reduce our carbon emissions. ومن جهتها، قالت ليزا البونتي، الرئيسة التنفيذية ل� »مؤسسة تطوير مشاريع الشباب العرب«: »انطالقا من مكانتها الرائدة كقوة مؤثرة في قطاع التعليم بدولة

اإلمارات العربية املتحدة، توفر مجموعة ’جيمس‘ التعليمية انسجاما رائعا يتيح تنمية املهارات املتنوعة للطالب، من مرحلة الروضة وحتى مرحلة التعليم الثانوي،

وتشجيعهم على املشاركة في مختلف املشاريع التعليمية وبرامج التبادل التي توفرها ’ناسا‘».

وتأتي زيارة رائدي الفضاء في أعقاب الزيارة الناجحة التي قام بها طالب من »مدرسة دبي الثانوية احلديثة«، التابعة ملجموعة »جيمس« التعليمية، إلى مقر

»ناسا« في واشنطن بالواليات املتحدة األمريكية في ديسمبر من العام املاضي. وخالل تواجدهم هناك، قام الطالب بأداء مهام خاصة، وبناء صواريخ ودروع واقية

من احلرارة، وتصميم بدالت فضاء، كما شاركوا في الغطس حتت املاء، وأجنزوا تدريبا حول القيادة والعمل اجلماعي، وقاموا بإجراء تدريبات على الطيران.

وستقوم مجموعة ثانية من الطالب بزيارة مقر »ناسا« في شهر مارس ضمن إطار برنامج تعليمي مماثل.

ستضافت »مجموعة جيمس التعليمية« في ست من مدارسها، أول زيارة لرواد االفضاء في وكالة الفضاء األمريكية )ناسا(، إلى منطقة الشرق األوسط.

وخصصت رائدا الفضاء احلاليني وقت الفراغ املتاح لهما بني الرحالت، ملشاركة خبراتهما وجتاربهما مع طالب مدارس املجموعة في دبي، خالل الفترة بني 21 -

24 فبراير.

وبهذه املناسبة، قال أندرو غريغوري، مدير قبة منوذج املجموعة الشمسية )البالنيتاريوم( في »أكادميية جيمس العاملية«، القبة الوحيدة من نوعها على مستوى

مدارس املنطقة: »لقد تعهدت مجموعة ’جيمس‘ بإدراج دراسات الفضاء ضمن املناهج التعليمية. فدراسة الكون ال تقتصر في فائدتها على تعزيز فهم الطالب

للعالم من حولهم، فهي تساعد أيضا على رفع مستوى تطلعاتهم، وحتفيزهم على معرفة املزيد، والتطلع إلى املستقبل بعني الباحثني واألفراد الطامحني«.

وكان لغريغوري دور بالغ األهمية في استقطاب رواد فضاء »ناسا« إلى دبي، انطالقا من قناعته الراسخة بأن دراسات الفضاء وعلوم الفلك تلعب دورا محوريا

في تطور الطالب.

وأضاف: »متثل الزيارة التي يقوم بها رائدا الفضاء من ’ناسا‘ خالل هذا األسبوع جتربة مدهشة بالنسبة لطالب مجموعة ’جيمس‘؛ ونحن محظوظون بأن وقع اختيار ’ناسا‘ على مدينة دبي في زيارتها املدرسية األولى في منطقة الشرق

األوسط«.

وعلى مدار أيام الزيارة األربعة، توجه الكابنت باري ويلمور والدكتور روبرت ساتشر، الرائدين في طاقم الرحلة املكوكية رقم 31 التي زارت محطة الفضاء

الدولية في نوفمبر، إلى 6 من مدارس املجموعة في دبي وهي: »مدرسة جيمس ww

التحديات واالنجاز" حضر هذه المحاضرة جمهور كبير خاللها لهم كشفت والمدعوين واألس��ات��ذة الطلبة من السلسلة ه��ذه ف��ي رويناها التي اآلب��ار ح��رائ��ق أس��رار المبلغ الذي تم توفيره باختصار ومن بين هذه األسرار يعادل وال��ذي أشهر إلى سبعة الزمنية من سنين الفترة ما يمكن أن يحترق من النفط خالل الفارق الزمني وهو ونصف ثالثين ب� يقدر المبلغ وه��ذا أشهر وخمسة سنة مليار دوالر وأذكر حينها أنني قمت بتوضيح عملي لمقدار هذا المبلغ حيث أخرجت من جيبي ورقتين نقديتين من فئة المائة دوالر وقلت للجمهور لو أنني حصلت على هذا المبلغ الشرقي الساحل من برحلة وب��دأت البنوك أح��د من نقدا للواليات المتحدة مكونا شريطا ملتصقا من المائة دوالر إلى الساحل الغربي ثم عدت أكمل المشوار إلى الساحل الشرقي

مرة أخرى ورجعت إلى والية بنسلفانيا "منتصف أمريكا" يظل لدي فائض ما يقارب المليون دوالر، ولو صرفت هذا المبلغ من فئة العشرة دوالر يمكنني أن أبدأ برحلة من سطح األرض إلى القمر مكونا شريطا ملتصقا من النقود ابتداء من سطح األرض إلى سطح القمر ثم أعود إلى األرض ويظل لدي فائض ما يقارب النصف مليون دوالر. وهذه ليست مبالغة إنما هي عملية محسوبة وقد ضحك أحد األساتذة الحاضرين وقال إنني أتمنى أن أذهب في إحدى هاتين الرحلتين وأجمع المال في طريقي، هذا إذا كان

الفارق الزمني سنة وخمسة أشهر فما بالكم لو كان الفارق الزمني المبلغ هذا باإلضافة إلى الدمار الذي بضع سنوات لتضاعف هذا

استمرت لو الكبير البيئي والضرر النفطي بالمكمن يلحق أن يمكن الحرائق إلى سنوات عديدة، وفي نهاية هذه المحاضرة قدمت لهم خريج أنني أفتخر أنني وقلت American كلمة تحمل شريحة ينهجه الذي الكبير بالتحدي أعتز وأنني األمريكية الجامعة هذه المبدعين األمريكان والذي دفعني إلى هذا التحدي ولو نظرنا إلى Amer I Can هذه الكلمة وشرحناها إلى ثالثة أقسام ألصبحتوهذه دفعتني إلى هذا اإلنجاز حيث أنني أخاطب أمير الكويت وأقول : "أيها األمير إنني أستطيع" وعندما قسمتها إلى قسمين يستطيع" "العميري Ameri Can التالية بالطريقة وكتبتها أن اإلب��داع إلى اسمي وه��ذا ما أسميه الكلمة وهكذا نسبت تأخذ شيئا مألوفا وتحدث عليه تغييرا طفيفا فتبدع إبداعا كبيرا وتنجز انجازا عظيما وهذا ما تم في إستراتيجية إطفاء

في عام 1994 أي بعد مرور أربع سنوات على إطفاء أخر بئر تلقيت دعوة "penn state university" إللقاء محاضرة من جامعة والية بنسلفانيا "Distinguished Alumni lecture" حيث الخريج المتميز الشرفية الذي المتميزين خريجيها أحد دع��وة على عام كل في الجامعة اعتادت حقق انجازا على مستوى دولي إللقاء محاضرة حول هذا االنجاز يتم بعدها

تكريمه باعتبار أن هذا االنجاز ينسب ألحد خريجي الجامعة.

وقبلت الدعوة وكان عنوان محاضرتي "إطفاء حرائق آبار النفط الكويتية...

كبر تحدي واجهني في حياتي على اإلطالق ، إطفاء آبار النفط أالكويتية المشتعلة ، بعد تحرير الكويت مباشرة ... إنها أيام ال تنسى

أجمع الخبراء بأن اإلطفاء والسيطرة على اآلبار يتطلب عدة سنوات فلما أنجزت المهمة في سبعة أشهر قيل أنها معجزة !! كيف حدث ذلك؟.. في هذه السلسلة نكشف األسرار لحرائق اآلبار في قصص

مثيرة فيها دروس وعبر وفيرة ألجيال طموحة.

ن منا ال يشعر أحيانا بأنه ال يستطيع التواصل مع اآلخرين، وكسر أو تخطي محاجز االنعزال ل� الشخص اآلخر وأحيانا اإلنغالق يبعدنا عن الغي�ر،كما

ويجنبا املسير على جسر الوصل، ولكن ماذا لو كان الغي��ر "ورق��ة" وكان جسر الوصل "قلم"؟.

هل فعال نستطيع أن نتواصل مع هذا الغير! اإلجابة نعم بكل تأكيد.. إن كنت ال تصدقني جرب ذلك بنفسك فأنا، لم أعهد خيانة أصدقائي: القلم + الورقة..

فأنا ال أدري ملاذا.. هل ألنني أحبهم.. أم ألنهم ليس لهم سواي! أم ألنه جتمعنا عالقة املالك واململوك.

ف� صديقي القلم معي في كل األوقات يذكرني ب� بعض الذكريات اجلميلة أحيانا.. وعلى العكس أحيانا أخرى فأمازحه ب� بعض الكاركتير ليلطخني ب�

أحباره أحيانا وميازحني بكتابة بعض األخطاء اإلمالئية، ف� كلما أهدرت أحبار هذا القلم على األوراق حتى يكاد يأخذ أنفاسه األخيرة اليتركني حتى يثأر مني

بالسهر واستقبال شروق الشمس أحيانا..

أما الورقة املسكينة فدائما هي الطرف املظلوم - كما أراها -، ذلك ألنها تفرح ب� فرحي وحتزن مع��ي فإذا أحببتها جمعتها مع صديقاتها األوراق، أما إن لم

تفهم ما أخبرها به مزقتها حتى تتناثر لتلفظ أنفاسها األخيرة فتموت دون أن تدينني ب� موتها فهي مظلوم��ة.. فدائما أخبرهم بأن هناك شخصية

واحدة هي األوفى منهم ولكنهم دائما ما يثبتون العكس..ما أجمل أن يكون لديك من يكتم أسرارك دائما، وما أجمل أن

يكون لديك من يحافظ على أفكارك، وما أجمل أن يكون لديك أصدقاء يفرحون معك ويحزنون حلزنك أصدقاء من نوع

آخ��ر، أصدقاء ال مشاعر لهم سوا مشاعرك، أصدقاء ال يبوحون بأسرارك إال أن أردت أنت أن تبوح. لم أكن أبوح

مبدى حبي الشديد لهما، حتى أن رأيتهم يرافقوني في كل وق��ت.

وتتميز هذه املدينة باختصارها الفريد ملتناقضات املغرب، فهي تضم في وقت واحد الثلوج التي تعمم هامات اجلبال، وكثبان الرمال، والفيافي اجلرداء، والواحات اخلضراء. واملنابع التي ال تنضب، واألودية اجلافة وأشهرها وادي العطش. كما أنها أرض الزراعات اخلاصة التي تكاد ال تنبت في املغرب كله، إال في هذه املنطقة شبه الصحراوية، مثل النخيل واحلناء والزعفران احلر والورد البلدي. هذا التميز املتنوع في الطبيعة العذراء، وفي أزياء املنطقة وأهازيجها ومعمارها ومنط العيش بها، كان

له تأثير كبير في جعلها حاضرة السياحة اجلبلية والصحراوية في البالد. وهذا أحد األسباب التي جعلت املدينة مقصدا للسينمائيني العامليني.

فقبل أكثر من 100 عام مت تصوير أول فيلم سينمائي في املغرب وكان بعنوان »لو شيفريي ماروكان« )راعي املاعز املغربي( الذي أنتجه مؤسس الفن السينمائي

الفرنسي لويس لوميير عام 1897، وكان من بني أول التجارب السينمائية في العالم. وتوالت بعده األفالم الدولية التي اختار منتجوها أرض املغرب فضاء

للتصوير. وفي عام 1927 انتهى احتكار السينما الفرنسية لهذه املنطقة، حيث شهد هذا العام تصوير الشريط األملاني »عندما تعود السنونو الى أعشاشها« جليمس بوير. ولم تتأخر السينما األميركية في اكتشاف مفاتن ورزازات التي

استضافت عام 1930 تصوير »قلوب محترقة« جلوزيف فون ستيرنبيرغ، وهو من بطولة مارلني ديتريش وغاري كوبر. والتحقت السينما البريطانية بالركب منذ

1938 بتصوير »قافلة الصحراء« لثورتون فريالند. واذا كانت تلك األفالم أقرب ما تكون الى حاالت االستثناء، فان درجة إقبال السينمائيني العامليني على ورزازات

ارتفعت وتنوعت بعد احلرب العاملية الثانية، لتتأسس قاعدة جديدة. فاحتضنت ورزازات أفالما فرنسية وأميركية واسبانية وايطالية وهولندية وسويدية وبلجيكية،

بل وحتى أفالما من كوريا اجلنوبية وجنوب إفريقيا وكوبا والبرازيل.

ومنذ أكثر من 20 سنة واملدينة تتوفر على استوديوهات لإلنتاج السينمائي العاملي مجهزة بأحدث املعدات السينمائية، كما ان املنطقة احمليطة بها تتوفر على مناظر جذابة جمعت سحر الطبيعة وتنويعها مع انتشار واحات وقالع عتيقة تشير إلى إن

املنطقة حتتفظ بتاريخ وتقاليد عمرانية أصيلة. ومنذ مائة سنة وهي وجهة لتصوير أشهر األفالم التاريخية واألفالم التي حازت على أوسكار، ومن أشهر األفالم

troy، babel، Alexander، sahara، lawence :التي صورت بوارزازات هيd>arabie، Cleopatra، gladiaror، kingdom of heaven

وزيادة على املناظر الطبيعية املمتازة التي تزخر بها املنطقة، إلى أنه هناك أسباب أخرى تعود وراء إقبال املنتجني العامليني عليها وهي: التشجيعات اإلدارية

والتسهيالت املالية التي تقدمها السلطات الرسمية، والتي متكن من تخفيض كلفة اإلنتاج ما بني 30 و40 في املائة مقارنة مع تكاليف تصويره في أوروبا أو الواليات

املتحدة. إضافة للخبرة التي توفرها املؤسسات احمللية املتخصصة في تقدمي اخلدمات اإلنتاجية املختلفة والتي أصبحت تضم مهارات محنكة.

كما أن السينما املغربية بذاتها تستفيد من تعدد وتنوع األفالم الدولية التي يجري تصويرها في استوديوهات وارزازات، خاصة على املستويات الفنية، حيث أكدت املركز السينمائي املغربي أن حوالي 1500 فني مغربي من مختلف التخصصات

يشاركون سنويا في األفالم العاملية التي يتم تصويرها بهذه املنطقة. كما تقوم مجموعة من املمثلني املغاربة بأداء أدوار ثانوية في هذه األعمال الدولية، إضافة

إلى حوالي 16 ألف مغربي أسندت لهم أدوار كومبارس خالل العام املاضي. إضافة إلى أن اإلنتاج السينمائي األجنبي في املنطقة يدر على البالد مردودا هاما بالعملة الصعبة، حيث يتعدى أكثر من 200 مليون دوالر في املوسم الواحد بسبب استثمار

شركات اإلنتاج العاملية.

وارزازات...هوليود إفريقيا

ارزازات.. أو كما يسميها البعض هوليود إفريقيا أو هوليود الثانية، فهي مدينة ومغربية تقع في اجلنوب الشرقي املغربي، تبعد بحوالي 200 كيلومتر عن مدينة مراكش. وأيضا بحوالي 295 كيلومترا عن مدينة الراشيدية بجنوب جبال أطلس العليا على ارتفاع 1.135 مترا، أي أنها متثل قلب اململكة املغربية. ورزازات عبارة

أمازيغية مركبة من كلمتني، »وار« وتعني دون، و»زازات« وتعني الضجيج. هكذا اختار أهل املنطقة أن يطلقوا هذه التسمية التي تعني »دون ضجيج« على هذه املدينة التي بنيت انطالقا من عام 1920 حول ثكنة عسكرية أقامتها سلطات

احلماية الفرنسية.

A decision, an action, and then a tragedy of tears are the obstacles that lead to regret and self blame. Life is simply a collection of

your own choices. You are the one that is in charge of polishing your own shoes, cleaning out your closet and brushing your teeth. These are all personal issues of everyone’s life. One can chose to take his or her shoes to a shoe shinning place or do it themselves. Or demand a house helper to clean out their own closet for them or not and so on…. A wise person once said, “Everything is a choice, except to die”.

Life is a bundle of surprises, expectations, choices and drama. Picture that, watching your life on a T.V screen is exactly the same way you watch a movie or series of some kind. Whether its comedy, romantic or whatever. We are the ones that direct our lives to where they are characterized now. Some people are able to take a little bite of each treat and yet without affecting themselves by placing one priority over the other. For Instance, you may find a person that is able to deal with the ups and downs of his love life while, concentrating on his studies with great grades. He chose his way and he was able to live through his life plan. However, not anyone is capable of doing it. That’s why we find high school dropouts, worn out house wives, overweight bookworms, rag dolls and ect. These people did not take direct action to prove themselves or show themselves the right way to society.

The path is never vacant, there must be blockades of many shapes and sizes that we must learn to leap over. She has failed her first test, she must simply plan to study harder or ask for help to do well the next time. However, she must not give up, considering herself dumb or that the subject is too complex for her brain. If everything was handed over to us on a silver plate, success won’t have its unique taste. On the other hand, if we fight for what we want and work hard to reach it, it will have a different meaning. Yes, there might be days of non-sleep, thinking or tears of joy or sadness, but that’s all part of the package. Remember high school graduation? Was it worth it? Didn’t your eyes water? Were you able to sleep the day before graduation and after? You’ve failed tests, had best friend fights, personal family problems, got bad days, said words you didn’t mean and made choices you regret latter. Yet, we didn’t sleep to pass the next test, talked with our best friend and made it better, sat with family members and solved the problem, and made the right choice by saying sorry to the people we hurt. A broken glass can never be put back together, but can be mended into a new one!

ليش.. كلمة صغيرة من ثالث حروف كبيرة مبعانيها عشرات األلوف.. في حياتنا اليومية نستخدمها أول ما ينطرح علينا السؤال؟! وغالبا ما تكون اإلجابة -ليش-

حتى لو كانت اإلجابة في واد آخر.. عندما يتصل بك اقرب أصدقائك ويسألك أنت وينك؟! تلقائيا تكون إجابتك: ليش؟ ثم تقول له أنت أين.. ملاذا ليش؟ ألنها

باتت طبيعتنا.. صفتنا.. إال من أنقذ نفسه بنفسه وفكر بها وتداركها..

لذلك اخترت ليش لنتواصل بها ومن خاللها.. ليش كثيرة بحياتنا – يومياتنا – طلعاتنا – حتى مبشاعرنا – وتفكيرنا.. والدليل.. ليش عندما حتب تفكر ماذا

سيقدم لنا من نحب؟ وليش ال تفكر ماذا ستقدم له؟

- ليش نريد الوصل إلى الكاشير باجلمعية أسرع ممن أمامنا وال نسال ليش ماننتظر أن ينهي دوره؟

راح يذبح البنت وما رجع لني أحلني قال األبو: إذا ما ذبحها راح ينقلب غزال. وصج انقلب الولد املسكني غزال حلو وبالليل يرجع ولد صغير وعاش جذي.. الصبح ملا يصير غزال تاخذه إوخيته عند املاي وتسقيه ويلعب معاها وبعدين يرجعون

الكوخ بالليل يقلب ولدطبيعي.. ويوم من األيام وهي تلعب مع أخوها الغزال عند املاي كان أمير األمراء يقنص عند املاي قرب على صوتها وهي تغني: غني يا عنب

وصفق يا رمان.. وكان الشجر يغني معاها وهي ترقص ومعاها غزال ينقز ويلعب وبعدين ت��تبعها ويشوف عندها أهل.. وشافها وهي تدخل كوخ صغير وقام ينطرها مع احلرس ويوم صار الليل جان ينفتح الباب ويطلع منه صبي اشحالته شاب عاد إهني خذته الغيره وحب ياخذ البنت منه.. ملا هدا الليل دخل األمير الكوخ ولقاها

ناميه ميه على طول سل سيفه وذبحه وسألته ليش!! قال: آنه أحبج وأبي آخذج قالت له بس إتنه ذبحت أخوي.. وعطف عليها وخذاها ألنه ما عندها أحد فقام تزوجها ويتودد لها و ياب منها أوالد وما كان يقصر معاها بهالعطايا الزينه إلي

جتبر اخلاطر ألنه يحبها بس غلطته انه ذبح حشاشت يوفها أخوها وكان يسأل الوزير انها داميا ما حتبه وما يلقى ذاك الترحيب والتهليل منها فقال الوزير: اصبر

عليها بس دير بالك ال حتط سيفك بعيد عنها خله حتت راسك عشان ال فكرت تذبحك إال ميك سيفك.. إعرفت مرته إنه ما حط السيف ميه إال انه خايف منها وفكرت انها تتودد له وانها حتبه فأمن منها فقال حق وزيره: انها تغيرت وحتبني

وتلعب معاي. فقال له الوزير: ميكن نست خالص.. وبيوم حط سيفه بعيدعنه وبهذي اللحظه سلت السيف وذبحته.. وشقت صدره وخذت املالس وسوته حميسه

وطقت الباب على امه وقالت لها: خالتي ذوقي ما ذقت وقامت أميمته تاكل وخنت حيلي ما درت انها جبدة ولدها.. وقامت البنت وراحت وركبت اخليل ماله وانحاشت حق أهلها إلي كان اخوها الغالي يقول لها عنهم.. وانطرت األم ولدها

الصبح يفتح الباب راحت له ولقته مذبوح.

Away….. Away… Away…! From life, From boundaries, From surroundings, From heart breakers. Too weak! Can’t live with

such pressure, can’t swallow my feelings! Though, I seem to scream loudly, laugh and giggle apparently and talk freely. But, still my chains are too tight, to close to my life’s rope. Clogged chest with life’s daily sights, life’s daily situations and life’s daily conversations.

Laid on my bed, head on my pillow, neck rested perfectly. Sounds of people I love and people I abhor vividly in my ear, things I said I regret or feel stupid that I said during the day, or scenes of people I hold something for, doing or saying something that belittled them in my eyes, in my sensations. Did they mean it? Why did they do it? His hand was around her. She had her mouth near his ear, whispering something. Next, day he was tickling her and she was jumping, with a high pitched scream following it.

Jealousy! No, I don’t think so! It can’t be to every close friend I have. No, it’s not it. Because, I predict their emotions, their future actions and condition. I feel sorry for them, thought I know it might put them through contentment. But, for a while now or momentary only. I seem to watch everything I can, what they say what they do really closely. But, I fail at times by catching their eye. Is this stocking… Is this annoyance…. Is this wrong? It seems I care too much of my surroundings, than watching over myself. I relate certain things that happen to what I’ve been through. I don’t it that to happen to him or her, but it seems they like it. Sometimes I chose to say nothing, but latter words and accusations scatter them. The only powerful weapon I have, «WORDS». They do understand it, I thought they didn’t. THEY DO! But, it’s hard to follow up, hard to know exactly what they want at this time, at this age. Everyone is doing the same thing, impressing him and grasping her attention.

Everyone swims in the same river, that’s why they find it hard to jump out, predicting they will lay dead on the side of the river. While, everyone else is jumping, leaping and bumping into each other, either getting to know each other or altering each other’s lives. I watch little things that bother my thinking or my thoughts. He’s a left handed, how does he write? Plus, he’s a great artist too. How does he hold the pencil? WOW, real different and real unique. I get caught trying to do the same, and might be proven as zany and wacky from the act of stupidity. Why is that? Is wondering and fishing thoughts limited within our brains? I find it hard to flip my pages up, over there in my head. Need to see it, need to hear it and need to prove it. I think too much, very much! In moment of pure silence, in moments of being motionless and in moments of life actions. The teacher explained a complex problem, and I’m between of analyzing a situation 2 minutes ago.

We are playing Volley ball, I ponder on a girls converse shoes, instead of the ball. It’s hard, knowing it’s not comfortable cuz I have the same, is she in pain but putting a smile? Looking at my baby brother talking, saying things not his age not necessarily bad, but doesn’t fit on his face on his size. Did I talk like that, when I was his age? Was my imagination infinite, like his? Was I free- going, not fearing consequences of any kind? So many questions in my head, so my thoughts in my brain! Why is it I look at her and decide I disgust her and look at her friend and decide she’s friendly? I hate that thing I do, evaluating before I know! Makes me mad, makes me furious and every adjective that’s a synonym to those.w

هذا ما آلت إليه أمتنا، فما بالنا ب� رئيس إحدى الدول التي تدعو إلحالل ال� سالم عي اجلميع بأنها جزء و كيان من روحه وهي في تلك البقعة - املنطقة التي يد

في األصل ال متثل أي شئ بالنسبة له، يحتسى ال� ..... كي يفيق من غفلته نهارا د هراء، أيعقل أن يكون هناك عربي يسد سبيل النجاة ويدافع عن فلسطني.. مجرالوحيد على أشقائه وعندما يتحدث في احملافل الرسمية والتي بالكاد أستطيع أن أسميها بال� مقابر الرسمية، يقول بأني دافعت عن غزة دافعت من أجل حتريرها..

ويسهب اآلخر ويستخدم أفضل ما لديه من أساليب كي يوصل لألمة بأنه محب لتك األرض وأنه سيبذل قصارى جهده كي تتحرر، منطقيا لم لم تقل دافعت شكليا كي أحمي نفسي، صحيح إني ال أعلم ما تخفي تلك األنفس والصدور، والله وحده

هو عالم الغيب والشهادة ولكن واقعنا وآه مائة مرة من واقعنا بنفسه يتحدث ويشهد ويقر بذلك.

قبل فترة معينة "بعيدة" بدأ الهجوم البري وال زال مستمرا وآل أن ال يستمر مع أنه أمل باهت ولكن البد أن يظل لدينا بصيص من األمل، أسننتظر إلى أن يأتو لديارنا كي يطرقوا بيباننا ويستأذنونا بالهجوم علينا أم سنفعل كما فعلوا هم بإحالة قضية ال� 60 عاما وأكثر إلي مجلس األمن الدولي كأنها قضية حديثة النشأة واملولد ولم

ميضي على ظهورها سوى 60 دقيقة!

بتفكيرهم احملدود يظنون أن لدى ذلك اجلهاز املسير من قبل تلك القيادات قدرات للتسلل بني تلك الشعوب احملاصرة وتخليصها مما هي عليه اآلن، منذ بدأ ذلك

الهجوم أستشهد عدد كبير من األشخاص ماذا ننتظر إلى اآلن..!

ويعيد السؤال نفسه كل مرة، ونستثنيي طبعا عدادات الشهداء طيلة تلك الفترة التي لم تتوقف فيها عن التزايد.

عني، ابتعدوا عن ساحة النزال واتركوا التحدي ملن هو أجدر همسة إلى هؤاالء املدبه.. وال تكونوا كتلك الزوايا املخفيه بني اجلدران، كاخلفافيش تستمتع باإلنقضاض على فريستها بالظالم، سؤالي، ملاذا لستم بارعني باملواجهة أمام العالم أجمع، ملاذا

تتخفون خلف ستار تلك الدول وتنادون باحلرية والسالم واألمن واألمان وتدعون كذلك إلى إنشاء منظمات إلحالل السالم الدولي وما إلى ذلك من أمور متشابهة

وقد تكون مختلفة، أتقومون بكل هذا من أجل التستر على ما تقومون به من أالعيب بل بقاموسي أسميها أباطيل؟ ألم متلو من هذا اللعب أبدا، ألم تستصغروأ أنفسكم وأنتم كاألطفال في دوامة يصعب اخلروج منها ومجبرين على مواجهة ما أنتم بصدده بفعل أيدكم و بإرادتكم املطلقة طبعا، من دون إجبار من قبل أي أحد

كان ..

بالرغم من تلك املساندة واملساعدة التي يحقنون بها اخلصم دوريا ودائما وهم معميون موضوعا وليس حقيقة، إال أنني آمل أنه ما زال هناك ذرة من الوالء

يحملونها في أجواف قلوبهم ولكنهم يخافون إظهاراها خشية مما سيئولو إليه، ولكن هذا ما أرادوه و انساقوا إليه بفعل أيديهم و عقولهم، فعليهم أن يتحملوا

نتائجه.

تغلق األضواء، يفتح ضوء خافت، جتلس تلك املجموعة على الطاولة، يبدأون بتوزيع ورق اللعب، وبعد انتهاء ذلك العرض أو تلك اللعبة وتفتح األضواء س� تكشف كل األالعيب ولكنني متأكدة بأنهم سيندموا أشد الندم على ما يفعلونه اآلن و سأرد عليهم مقدما "ملك لم حتمه كالرجال فال تبك عليه كالنساء" كما قالت اخلنساء

إلبنها عندج خرج منهزما من أرضه.

مهال؛ هل ذكرت في كافة ما كتبت فوق فلسطني؟ عذرا فأنا أقصد )غزة( وما غزة إال منوذج مصغر وحي عن فلسطني بأسرها أكملها، هل حديثي فيه نوع من

الغرابة؟ رمبا..

أكثر من 60 عاما و فلسطني محاصرة من تلك التي تسمى أو يقال عنها "إسرائيل"

على الهامش : 60 رقم أصبحت أتشائم منه كثيرا.

معروف علميا أن لكل جرح ومتزق مدة معينه و يلتئم و يشفى !

فما باله ذلك اجلرح ، الذي لم يلتئم منذ أكثر من 60 عاما ..!

60 عاما و س� نتشاور ، و نعقد املؤمترات ، و س� جنتمع و نقرر ..

Why do we always have to put obstacles between us and happiness. Why do we always say IF I got that house, that car ,or what ever your looking forward to have or do ,I will be Happy!! .Happiness is not about Haves and Dos . Why don’t you be happy NOW?! Why don’t we enjoy life weather we achieved goals ,had things or not.

If Happiness is a state of inner feeling ,a feeling of expansion,relaxation and satisfaction, then we can be happy now!! Its affordable, free of charge and its too close to you (closer than you can ever imagine) not in the new car ,new house, money or people around you. It’s even closer,,, it’s in your mind. You don’t need to search for it, it’s just there ,,and you are the one who is putting those materialistic things between you and your happiness ( your inner state of satisfaction, relief and fulfillment.)

Count your blessings that god gave you,, then kneel to pray and thank god for them.

االعتذار

على العكس من ذلك فهو قمة الرجولة، وهناك بعض الرجال ال يعترفون بأخطائهم فيضعون اخلطأ دائما على زوجاتهم ليخرج هو من املأزق مثل الشعرة من العجينة،

وينسى الرجل أن املرأة عاطفية كثيرا وحساسة جدا، وبأن كلمة صغيرة أو فعل طيب صغير يرضيها، فليس بالضرورة أن يكون االعتذار بكلمة آسف.. بل هناك

بعض التصرفات الصغيرة التي من املمكن أن تذيب جبل الثلج بني الزوجني املتخاصمني، كأن ينهي الزوج اخلصام مبزحة أو تعليق ما حتى تضحك الزوجة، أو أن يساعدها فى أعمال البيت على غير عادته فهذه رسالة حتمل فى طياتها

االعتذار والتقدير للزوجة، وبأنه قريب منها ودائما في عونها. ويعبر بعض األزواج عن االعتذار بالهدية، فهي تعبر عن االعتذار أكثر من الكالم، حتى لو كانت هذه

الهدية عبارة عن وردة.

واملرأة متيل لالعتذار غالبا أكثر من الرجل ليس ضعفا منها بل لطبيعتها الرقيقة وحسها املرهف ورغبتها في استمرار حياتها الزوجية والعيش بسالم، وكذلك هناك

طرق غير مباشرة تفعلها املرأة لالعتذار لزوجها مثل حتضير طبق يحبه، أو أن ترتدي مايحبة من الثياب، فهي بذلك تقول له أنها تشتاق إليه وتفتقده، وكذلك

متتلك املرأة أسلحة طبيعية كالدالل والغنج، فلتستخدمها.. فتجد الرجل سرعان ما يصفو ويغفر لها خطاها. ويجب أن ال ننسى أهمية العتاب بني الزوجني، فالعتاب دليل احملبة، كما أن تراكم املشاكل واملضايقات يجعل األمور تسوء وتتعقد بينهما، فعلى الزوجني عدم العناد واإلصرار على الرأى، وطرد فكرة أن االعتذار هو قلة

قدر أو إهانة، فال كرامة بني االزواج، في سبيل استمرار احلياة الزوجية وفي سبيل األوالد وصحتهم النفسية، فالزواج مؤسسة مشتركة فعلى الزوجني عمل املستحيل

إلجناح هذة الشراكة.

يس منا من لم يخطىء فى حق اآلخرين.. كل ابن آدم خطاء.. وكلنا مررنا فى لجتارب أخطأنا فيها بحق اآلخرين.. وكذلك هناك الكثير من أخطأ في حقنا..

ولكن هل فكرنا باالعتذار أو هل اعتذرنا؟ وهل الذين أخطأوا فى حقنا اعترفوا بخطئهم أو اعتذروا؟ فهنا تكمن أهمية االعتذار.. لو أن كل شخص اعتذر عن

خطئة فمن املؤكد ستكون الدنيا بخير، فاالعتذار يجعلنا نعمل ألف حساب قبل أن نخطىء بحق اآلخرين، فالكثير من الناس يعتقدون أن االعتذار ضعف وانكسار أو تقليل من القيمة، بل في الواقع هو عكس ذلك متاما، فهوشجاعة وثقة في النفس

وقوة فى الشخصية، كما أنه ذوق وفن وأخالق، فاخلالفات وسوء الفهم حتدث بني األصدقاء واألقارب واألهل واألزواج واحملبني، فما أجمل من أن يعترف املخطىء

بخطئة ويبادر باالعتذار، وال يلجأ إلى العناد واملكابرة، كما يفعل الكثير من الناس، فكلنا خلقنا من الطني وإلى الطني سنعود، وكل ابن آدم سواء صغيرا كان أو كبيرا،

عامال كان أو أميرا، رجال كان أو امرأة، كلنا مخلوقات الله ولدينا جميعا نفس املشاعر، فما أجمل من أن نبادر باالعتذار إذا أخطأنا في حق أحد، فاالعتذار

شىء عظيم يذيب الغضب ويداوى القلب املكسور.

واالعتذار بني الزوجني له أهمية كبيرة وذلك ألن الزوجني قدما من بيئتني مختلفتني ويتعايشان حتت سقف واحد، فيكثر التصادم واخلالفات وسوء الفهم بينهما، واالعتذار عن اخلطأ له أهمية كبيرة في حياتهما ألن العالقة الزوجية

من أسمى العالقات البشرية، وألن املودة والرحمة من أهم األسس لهذا الرباط املقدس، فعلى من يخطىء من الزوجني أن يبادر باالعتذار، ألن كثرة اخلالفات

Make runningeasier

Lots of us have a love-hate relationship with running. We love the pure fitness, the endorphin high, the feeling of accomplishment,

the peerless love-handle-zapping power. Yet we hate the aching knees, ankles and Achilles tendons, the elaborate warm-up and warm-down times, the endless stretching. In fact, we often hate running simply because it seems too much like work--hard work.

Wouldn’t we enjoy running more and do it more often (and thus keep up the calorie burn and fat loss) if there was some way to make it a little, uh, easier?

Da! says Nicholas Romanov, Ph.D., a Miami-based Russian sports scientist who has devoted his adult life to that seemingly impossible dream. A trainer of world-class athletes such as Svetlana Zakharova, who won the Boston Marathon earlier this year, Romanov says he not only can make running easier, but he will make you faster and reduce your injuries, too--all in the span of a couple of hours. All you need to do is something you probably never thought of before: Learn how to run.

“You learn how to shoot a basketball and how to play golf,” says Romanov. “But you don’t learn how to run--you just do it, and suffer the consequences. People tell you how to train, to run four miles

After discovering that great runners have certain technique similarities, Romanov institutionalized an ideal running body position, or pose, he teaches as the “pose technique,” which he says will make you more efficient, require less effort, lessen impact, and greatly reduce strains to muscles and connective tissues. It’s been effective enough to be adopted by top coaches of the official sanctioning body of American triathlons, not to mention high-profile fitness enthusiast, radio-show host and King of All Media Howard Stern. Whether you love or hate running, Romanov’s pose technique could help you get much more out of it.

CONTROLLED FALLING

Explained biomechanically, Romanov says the pose technique is “controlled falling.”

“Think of a pendulum,” he says. “It uses gravity to swing forward--not mechanical or muscular power.” Leaning over just to a point where he will nearly fall over, a good runner actually is letting gravity swing his lifted leg forward. That simplifies the process of forward motion quite a bit. “Theoretically, legs should not play a major role in propulsion,” says Romanov. “They are just carriers, like wheels.”

The hardest part of the pose technique may be learning to flick the heel up toward the butt the second the forefoot touches the ground rather than pushing off with the toes. To help you master this movement, imagine you’re running barefoot on broken glass, or that you’re stepping on something very hot. Or visualize yourself as a bouncing ball, a rock skipping across a lake, or a perpetual-motion machine.

BREAKING A HABIT

The pose technique is simple, but the hard part is practice, practice, practice--undoing years of running the wrong way. Among the most egregious of the ingrained running inefficiencies is landing on the heel.

“That is the worst possible thing you can do,” says Romanov. “Not only does it transmit a tremendous amount of ground shock to knee and hip, but it applies a blunt braking force to your forward motion.” Instead of slamming into the pavement, he explains, you want to feel more like you’re springing along. Romanov says his method transmits 30% less shock than normal running.

Getting results.

“For me, the benefits of the pose technique readily became apparent.

On a treadmill at 8 mph, I saw my heart rate drop and my labored

breathing disappear when I switched in midrun from my normal long-

striding style to the pose method. Now I definitely can run longer at

the same speed. Other graduates of Nicholas Romanov’s nationwide

weekend clinics I’ve met are ecstatic. Of the dozens of ‘posers’ I’ve

met, none has said the technique did not produce benefits. Once it’s

been explained to them, I’ve yet to hear any non-posers criticize it.”--

THE BASICS

* Lean machine: At all times, angle your body forward to the point

where you feel you’re about to fall. Do not bend at the waist. To go

faster, lean more.

* S-shaped body form: Run with your back straight and your knees

slightly bent at all times, including at impact. You should run at a

height two or three inches shorter than your normal standing height.

* Short stride: Your foot should land under your body, not ahead of it.

Remember that “distal” (far from body) equals weak, poor leverage,

while close to core equals strength and good balance.

* Land on forefoot, not heel: Initially contact the ground only on the

ball of the foot. Landing on the heel transmits maximum shock and

has a momentum-killing “braking” effect

* Fast cadence: Minimum leg turnover should be 180 to 190

strides per minute. Increase as you get fitter and want to go

faster. Remember: The longer the foot’s on the ground, the more

momentum you lose.

* Pull, not push: This is the hardest-to-master part of the pose

technique. After the foot strike, pull the heel straight up in the

direction of the butt by contracting the hamstring. It should go up

like a rubber band. Fight the urge to push off from the toes as you

normally do, instead using the quads and calves.

* Flick it: Don’t yank the foot up; flick it up just enough to get it off

the ground an inch or so. It will continue upward on its own; the

faster you’re running, the higher it goes.

* Free fall: Once airborne, don’t reach with your stride. You’re in flight,

Nicholas Romanov, Ph.D., discovered the importance of running

skill in 1976 while studying for his doctorate in sports pedagogy

and culture in the Soviet Union. Since the program required him to

develop training plans for running, which the former world-class high

jumper knew little about, he did what any logical outsider would

do: He analyzed the body positioning of great sprinters and distance

runners. He looked at the form of ancient Greek runners as depicted

on museum murals and pottery. He even studied the running form of

fast animals, including cheetahs and greyhounds. Eventually, he would

refine his research into the “pose technique.”

If Cesc had not grown up to be a football player for a living, he might well be wearing a hard hat. Cesc has said of his father’s company,

“It’s a family business, my grandad had it, my great grandad. The year before I came to Arsenal, I wanted to go and help my dad and if I wasn’t a player I’d be doing what my friends do, working with their parents, trying to get money any way they can.”

Cesc recalled in an interview with Arsenal TV online that his father was still young when he was born and enjoyed playing football. Young Cesc attended his father’s matches but he did not see his father play, he was too busy playing with the other children.

His father was his first football coach and Cesc said he always encouraged him and believed in him, but that he never pressured him. Cesc said,”He wasn’t one of those dads who goes crazy with their sons, saying, ‘You have to be a footballer’.”

Cesc, when asked what his first football memory was, replied, “I would have been 6 or 7 years old. I was in a tournament between three schools of Arenys: el Maragall, Cassa and La Presentacio. I went with this team. That was my first playoff, or championship game, with all the parents looking on in the Arenys pavilion, which no longer exists. I have the videotape recorded by my mother of when my father gave me the shirt, socks, shorts to wear. I was the happiest child in the world. I scored 3 goals. We won 3-2 and then 2-1. It was an unforgettable memory. Later I started football at seven. With 8 or 9 year olds coordinating already with the big football. With the school I played Saturdays at 12 and 4, with ’small fry’ A team of Arenys. It was a complete weekend. Tired? Never. I was doing what I like most!”

Cesc was 10 years old when he first realized he might have a future in professional football he recalls, “I was playing for a little town next to mine and I was lucky to be playing in the same league as Barcelona on that day and they came to see me – I also played against them as well a few times – and they called my family, my parents and we decided too go for a try out with Barcelona and they took me.”

At first he would train once a week at the Barcelona FC Youth Academy ‘La Cantera’ and the rest of the week in Mataro

It made for a demanding schedule. Cesc said, “When I went to Mataro, although I trained with the “small fry” A team of the Barca. I hurried, rushed from school at 5pm because a taxi came to collect me and the other kids of the Maresme. At 7pm we trained and we did not get home until 11pm. We also had to have dinner and do home work. So it was for five years until during my last year as a cadet I lodged at La Masia. They were the best years of my life.”

In an interview that aired on Cuatro his parents told of Cesc’s natural affinity for football. They said that since he started to walk it had been obvious, you could tell, all he wanted was the ball… They also found that when it came to giving young Cesc presents nothing but items in the football line would do. They tried everything else, Playmobil toys etc, but Cesc was not having a bar of it. However, they found that they could usually solve their gift-giving headaches with a trip to the Barca store. The Barca kit was a favorite.

His mother also recalled how Cesc even at 8 and 9 years of age would go to bed early the night before matches and would watch his diet. If it was suggested that they have dinner at McDonalds on a Friday night, Cesc would refuse! He only wanted soup, fish, fruit etc and for a child of only 8 or 9 this was an unusual attitude!

Cesc is a lifelong supporter of FC Barcelona, he first went to the stadium when he was nine months old, with his grandad. He even lived at Barca’s ground, leaving home at 14 to move to the dormitory inside the stadium complex that houses youth academy players.

Amongst his fellow cadets in the youth academy was, Lionel Messi. Cesc and Lionel complemented each other well. “We won everything together in our age group and we used to love playing one-twos on the pitch. We had a great understanding,” recalls Cesc. “He made a big impression on me, but he was very shy and that complicated his integration,” said Cesc. “We thought he was dumb. Until, being kids and thanks to Play Station, we discovered he could talk.”

CescFabregas

Francesc Fabregas Soler was born on May 4, 1987, in the pretty port of Arenys de Mar, a town more famous for its turnip festival

than its footballers. He was the first child of Nuria Soler, a caterer, who is now the director of a sales company and Francesc Fabregas Sr, a bricklayer, who now runs his own construction business.

“It was great to play for Barcelona,” Cesc reminisces, “but when we played it was 30-0. What’s the point? I need to have competition. From when I was in the under-13s we started winning by 15 goals and I was thinking about leaving. If the coaches can see you’re better than the opposition, why don’t they let you play against a higher age group? I almost went to Espanyol but the president said, ‘Let’s try and find a solution’. I stayed but then Arsenal came and I knew it was the chance of a lifetime.

The first time I came to London I saw the facilities. I talked to the boss, they treated me as if I was an adult, a big player. I had the feeling something special could happen for me here.”

He adds: I talked to a lot of people, all my family, especially, and people here, too, and we thought it was the best decision. I was 16. At Barcelona, I was captaining the Under-16s. Here, they gave me the opportunity to play for the reserves straight away, soon the Carling Cup. It gave me the motivation that I needed.

Fabregas had been placed on Wenger’s radar by his man in Iberia, former Arsenal youth player Francis Cagigao, and tracked closely after a starring performance for Spain versus England Under-16s in 2002. Steve Rowley, Arsenal’s chief scout, put in the groundwork with Cesc and his family. Cesc joined Arsenal on September 11, 2003.

In the summer of 2003, Cesc starred at the FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland. He won both the Golden Ball for best player and Golden Boot for top scorer. Spain finished second in the tournament. Cesc scored a brace, including a golden goal in the 117th minute, in the semi-final against Argentina, to take Spain into the final, where they dominated for long periods but in spite of this, Brazil ran out winners 1 – 0.

The team coach Juan Santisteban said at the end of the tournament, “In Cesc we have discovered a great talent for Spain”. This precocious talent was to lead to his involvement with Spain’s U-21 squad at just 17. Talent scouts at the tournament showed a lot of interest in the top scorer and player of the tournament but to no avail as Cesc was already bound for Highbury.

Cesc moved to England on his own at 16 years of age and went straight into digs with Philippe Senderos and the only necessity was that, before bringing him over, Arsenal waited until he finished the school semester.

The first time Cesc set foot in Highbury, in September 2003, he watched his new club get blown away by Inter Milan. As he watched the horror show unfold – Arsenal were 3-0 down by half-time – what thoughts ran through his mind? Was there at least a silver lining in the fact that Arsenal’s much-vaunted World Cup-winning midfield pairing

– Patrick Vieira and Gilberto Silva – were so thoroughly outplayed that Fabregas, despite his 16 years of age, believed he might get a shot at the first team sooner rather than later?

Not at all. “I certainly wasn’t thinking about it,” he says. “I knew they were great players, but I also never really thought of the first team at that point. I mean, I was there to play for the youth team, I never imagined I would have to worry about the first team’s midfield, let alone those two. I was 16 years old… normally players get a chance when they turn 22 or thereabouts. I thought it would be the same for me. I certainly did not imagine that, in less than a year, I’d be playing regularly alongside them.”

Of course, when it comes to developing youth players and launching them in the first team Arsenal embrace a different philosophy to many clubs. Yet off the pitch Cesc’s first year was no different from that of any 16 year-old who lands at a top premiership side with a duffel bag, a pair of boots and a heart full of hope.

Cesc lived in a bedsit in Barnet, Hertfordshire, run by Noreen Davis, a woman who looks after young players on behalf of the club. It was comfortable, but spartan, miles away from the “Footballers’ Pads” image.

“I had a stereo, some clothes, a computer, a tiny television which was

hooked up to my PlayStation. In fact, it was so small I think I nearly went blind playing on it,” he says. “Philippe Senderos was there, too, though he had a much bigger room.”

At first, as with most things, everything seemed shiny, exciting and new. By the time winter set in, however, things began to change somewhat. “After four to six months it became tough,” he says. “Every day, the same routine, the same things. When I wasn’t training or going to my English lessons, I’d spend all day in my room, staring at the computer, not knowing what to do with myself. It was incredibly boring. And weekends were no better. The reserves played during the week, so on Saturday and Sunday, because I had no friends, I would just sit there.”

Little by little, he found things to do, usually with Senderos in tow. The shops of Barnet High Street – Block-buster in particular – became a welcome distraction. And occasionally, they would hop on the Tube into town, making a beeline for Niketown and Selfridges on Oxford Street. Standard teenage fare, albeit a world away from his friends back in Barcelona.

“I’d think about my friends back home, who were out clubbing and having a good time and there I was, all by myself, in front of the computer, wondering what the hell I was doing,” he says. “It was tough, but it was a choice I had made.”

Windows Phone 7 Series is the successor to Microsoft’s line of Windows Mobile phone operating systems. It’s based on the

This time, the potential revolution in public health, Mr. Goetz said in an interview Friday, will be led by digital technologies that enable people to live healthier lives and make better treatment decisions.

On the healthier lives front, the digital tools are mostly not strikingly high-tech (unlike genomics), but ones that are suddenly affordable and useful. For example, Web sites with personal databases, Smartphone and Twitter apps for logging diet and exercise routines, pedometers, accelerometers and heart-rate monitors.

Constant feedback of personal information, studies show, can act as an incentive to nudge people to adopt healthier habits. Digital tools, he writes, “offer self-awareness, a way to turn action into change and to do it scientifically, rigorously, methodically. To do it with data.”

I wrote about the emerging “pay for prevention” health industry, led by companies that create programs for corporate clients that use

digital technology and financial incentives to prompt employees to exercise more and eat wisely. The young companies developing these programs include Redbrick Health (backed by Kleiner Perkins and Highland Capital Partners), Tangerine Wellness and Virgin Health Miles, part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group.)

Money incentives can help, Mr. Goetz said, but the key to long-term changes in health behavior is engaging people emotionally as well as rationally. Everyone has heard the simple health edict: Eat less, exercise more. But too few of us follow that entirely rational advice. Witness the American epidemic of obesity. Behavior change is hard.

In his book, Mr. Goetz points to Weight Watchers as an example of an approach that works. Its points system is information presented in simplified, understandable terms. It has long used group meetings for social support, encouragement and friendly prodding – face-to-face social networking.

“Weight Watchers kind of lucked into these principles, but now they can be democratized because of technology,” Mr. Goetz said.

The Web, he notes, is made for information gathering and social networking – an ideal medium, it seems, for tracking activity and changing behavior. Digital tools, Mr. Goetz said, open the door as never before to a “personal path to better health,” by combining personalized data with the social support of online communities.

20-Year Sentence inTheft of Card Numbers

A computer hacker from Florida was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison for helping engineer one of the largest thefts of

credit and debit card numbers in American history.

Judge Patti Saris of Federal District Court sentenced the hacker, Albert Gonzalez of Miami, who pleaded guilty last year to breaking into computer systems of major retailers, including TJX Companies and BJ’s Wholesale Club.

Prosecutors sought 25 years for Mr. Gonzalez, saying he victimized millions of people and cost companies, banks and insurers nearly $200 million. His lawyer argued Mr. Gonzalez should get no more than 15 years.

Mr. Gonzalez pleaded guilty last year in three separate hacking cases brought in Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. The Thursday hearing dealt with the Massachusetts case. A second sentencing Friday, also in Boston, will deal with the others.

Mr. Gonzalez’s Boston lawyer, Martin Weinberg, said his client, a self-taught computer expert, displayed behavior consistent with Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism.

A defense psychiatrist’s report described Mr. Gonzalez as a socially awkward Internet addict with an “idiot savant like genius for computers and information technology.”

Authorities said Mr. Gonzalez and two foreign co-defendants, with a laptop computer, would drive past retailers and tap into those with vulnerable wireless Internet signals.

They would then install “sniffer programs” that picked off credit and debit card numbers as they moved through a retailer’s computers before trying to sell the numbers overseas, authorities said.

Mr. Gonzalez, known online as “soupnazi,” became a Secret Service informant after he was first arrested for hacking in 2003.

But even as he helped the government catch other hackers, prosecutors said, he kept breaking into retailers’ computer systems, amassing $2.8 million he used to buy a Miami condominium, a car, Rolex watches and a Tiffany ring for his girlfriend.w

Career

While in New York, Bullock took acting classes at the Neighborhood Playhouse. She appeared in several student films, and later landed a role in an Off-Broadway play No Time Flat. Director Alan J. Levi was impressed by Bullock’s performance and offered her a part in the made-for-TV movie Bionic Showdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman (1989). One of Bullock’s first notable movie appearances was in the science-fiction/action movie Demolition Man (1993), which starred Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. Early life

Sandra Annette Bullock was born in Arlington, Virginia, the daughter of Helga D. Meyer (1942–2000), a German opera singer and voice teacher, and John W. Bullock (born 1925), a voice coach and executive from Alabama. Bullock’s maternal grandfather was a rocket scientist from Nuremberg, Germany. Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood in Salzburg. Debutante director Shawn Arranha surprises you in his very first outing. It may not be the most captivating thriller you’ve watched, but there are moments that keep you hooked to the proceedings. Also, a suspense saga works if you continue to play the guessing game till the end and in this case, you can’t tell who the culprit is. That is nothing short of a victory for this film!

The film unfolds the story of six friends Om, Abhi, Jaideep, Imran, Gunita and Jyotika. They were kids And it all started as a game on a chilly Christmas night. But little did they expect that night that the game would change their lives forever. Twelve years later, while some still wrestled with memories of that fateful night and others left it buried deep within them, it was a past that came back to haunt them again.

Twelve years later, someone was bringing them all together. To play that game all over again. Six best friends turn into worst enemies when trapped in a shopping mall.

Performance wise, all the newcomers did a wonderful job. All of them played their part very well. Purab Kohli is superb, as always. Arjan Bajwa gets into the skin of the character. Samir Kochhar leaves a strong impression. Ayaz Khan is decent. Mrinalini Sharma springs a pleasant surprise with a ‘spirited’ performance. Amruta Patki impresses as well.

On the whole, Hide & Seek is a nice thriller film. Good work by debutant director Shawn Arranha. Nice experience to watch such a thriller film.

Alice in Wonderland is an upcoming fantasy adventure film directed by Tim Burton. It is an extension to the Lewis Carroll novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. The film will use a technique combining live action and animation. Mia Wasikowska plays the

role of Alice, alongside Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen, and Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts.

Plot:

19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.

The film is scheduled for release on March 5, 2010 through Walt Disney Pictures in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3-D, as well as in regular theaters. The film has been rated PG by the MPAA for “fantasy action and violence involving scary images and situations and a smoking caterpillar”.

Dana Elaine Owens (born March 18, 1970), better known by her stage name Queen Latifah, is an American rapper,

actress, and singer. Queen Latifah’s work in music, film and television has earned her a Golden Globe award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Image Awards, a Grammy Award, six additional Grammy nominations, an Emmy Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination.

Latifah was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey the daughter of Rita, a schoolteacher who worked at Irvington High School, and Lancelot Owens, Sr, a police officer. Her parents divorced when Latifah was ten. Latifah was raised in the Baptist church. Her stage name, Latifah (لطيفة), meaning «delicate» and «gentle» in Arabic, was given to her by her cousin when she was eight. Always a large girl, the 5>10» tall Latifah was a power forward on her high school basketball team She performed the number «Home» from the musical The Wiz in a high school play.

Music career

Beginning (1988–1989)

Latifah started beatboxing for the rap group Ladies Fresh. Latifah was one of the members of the original version of the Flavor Unit, which, at that time, was a crew of MCs grouped around producer DJ Mark the 45 King. In 1988, DJ Mark the 45 King heard a demo version of Latifah>s single «Princess of the Posse» and gave the demo to Fab Five Freddy, who was the host of Yo! MTV Raps.

Rapping (1989–2002)

Freddy helped Latifah sign with Tommy Boy Records, which released Latifah>s first album All Hail the Queen in 1989, when she was nineteen. That year, she appeared as Referee on the UK label Music of Life album «1989—The Hustlers Convention (live)». In 1998, Co Produced by Ro Smith now CEO of Def Ro Inc. she released her fourth hip-hop album Order in the Court.

Singing (2003–2007)

After Order in the Court, Latifah shifted primarily to sing lyrics in soul music and jazz standards, which she had used sparingly in her previous hip-hop-oriented records. In 2004, she released the soul/jazz standards The Dana Owens Album. On July 11, 2007, Latifah sang at the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles as the headlining act in a live jazz concert. Before a crowd of more than 12,400, she was backed by a 10-piece live orchestra and three backup vocalists, The Queen Latifah Orchestra. Latifah performed new arrangements of standards including «California Dreaming,» first made popular by <60s icons The Mamas & the Papas. Later in 2007, Latifah released an album entitled Trav>lin> Light. Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Joe Sample, George Duke, Christian McBride, and Stevie Wonder made guest appearances. It was nominated for a Grammy in the «Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album» category.

On September 12, 2008, Rolling Stone reported that Queen Latifah is working on a new album called «Persona». The cover of this album has a striking resemblance to the video game, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona. Not only do the different versions of Latifah line up in a similar fashion to the cover of the Playstation Portable game, but Latifah>s cover uses a very similar font, with only slight differences such as the <e> in Persona turned counterclockwise. The song «Cue the Rain» was released as the album>s lead single. She also has a song with Missy Elliott.

Film and television

Early career (1993–2001)

From 1993-1998, Latifah had a starring role on Living Single, a Fox sitcom; she also wrote and performed its theme music. She began her film career in supporting roles in the 1991 and 1992 films House Party 2, Juice, and Jungle Fever. She had her own talk show, The Queen Latifah Show, from 1999 to 2001. She also had recurring roles during the second season (1991-1992) of the NBC hit The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She made a guest role as herself on Hangin> with Mr. Cooper in 1993. Latifah appeared in the 1996 box-office hit, Set It Off and subsequently had a supporting role in the Holly Hunter film Living Out Loud (1998). She played the role of Thelma in the 1999 movie adaptation of Jeffrey Deavers> The Bone Collector, alongside Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.

Mainstream Success (2002–present)

Although she had already received some critical acclaim, she gained mainstream success after being cast as Matron «Mama» Morton in the Oscar-winning musical Chicago, the recipient of the Best Picture Oscar. Latifah received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role, but lost to co-star Catherine Zeta-Jones.[4] Latifah is one of three hip-hop artists to receive an Academy Award nomination in an acting category (Best Supporting Actress, Chicago, 2002). The others are Will Smith (Best Actor, Ali, 2001, and Best Actor, The Pursuit of Happyness, 2006), and Mark Wahlberg (Best Supporting Actor, «The Departed,» 2006).

In 2003, she starred with Steve Martin in the film Bringing Down the House, which was a major success at the box office. She also recorded a song «Do Your Thing» for the soundtrack. Since then, she has had both leading and supporting roles in a multitude of films that received varied critical and box office receptions, including films such as Scary Movie 3, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, Taxi, Kung Faux, Beauty Shop, and Hairspray. From 1960 to 1961, Graves starred as leading character Christopher Cobb in 34 episodes of the TV series Whiplash. In the story line, Cobb is an American who arrives in Australia in the 1850s to establish the country’s first stagecoach line, using a bullwhip rather than a gun to fight the crooks that he encounters. The series also starred Anthony Wickert. Graves also starred in Court Martial as well as guest roles in such series as Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Route 66.

In 1967, Graves was recruited by Desilu Studios to replace Steven Hill as the lead actor on Mission: Impossible. Graves played Jim Phelps, the sometimes gruff leader of the Impossible Missions Force or IMF, for the remaining six seasons of the series.

After the series ended in 1973, Graves played a cameo-type support role in the feature film Sidecar Racers in Australia which was released in 1975. Graves also made a guest appearance in the teen soap opera Class of ‘74 in mid-1974, playing himself.

In 1988, a Hollywood writers’ strike resulted in a new Mission: Impossible series being commissioned. Graves was the only original cast member to return as a regular (although others made guest appearances). The series was filmed in Australia, and Graves made his third journey there for acting work. The new version of Mission: Impossible lasted for two seasons, ending in 1990. Bookending his work on Mission: Impossible, Graves starred in two pilot films called Call to Danger, which were an attempt to create a Mission: Impossible-style series in which Graves played a government agent (the Bureau of National Resources) who recruited civilians with special talents for secret missions.[9][10] The 1960s version of the pilot, according to Patrick White in The Complete Mission: Impossible Dossier (which White reports was actually the second such pilot, but Graves was not involved in the first), is credited with winning Graves the role of Phelps; after Mission: Impossible ended in 1973, Graves filmed a third version of the pilot (this one structured as a made-for-TV movie), but it did not sell as a series. The concept was later used in the brief 1980s adventure series Masquerade.

During the 1990s, he hosted the documentary series Biography on A&E. He also acted in a number of films featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000, which subsequently featured running jokes about Graves’ Biography work and presumed sibling rivalry with Arness. The films that have been featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000 include SST: Death Flight, It Conquered the World, Beginning of the End, Parts: The Clonus Horror, and an uncredited voiceover in Attack of the the Eye Creatures. The movie Killers from Space was featured in The Film Crew, Michael J. Nelson’s follow-up to MST3K. Graves himself parodied his Biography work in the film Men in Black II, hosting an exposé television show.

In the 1996 film update of Mission: Impossible, the character of Phelps was reimagined as a traitor who murders three fellow IMF agents, a decision that disappointed Graves. Jon Voight was cast as Phelps.

On October 30, 2009 Graves was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In 2009, AirTran Airways featured Graves in a series of web-only “Internetiquette” videos in which Graves appeared in a pilot’s uniform and references classic Airplane! lines.The videos were part of an AirTran Airways campaign to promote their in-flight wireless Internet access.

In the summer of 2009, Graves signed on as a spokesperson for reverse mortgage lender American Advisors Group (AAG). Graves appeared in a national commercial in which he educated seniors about the benefits of reverse mortgages.

Personal life

Graves was a devout Christian.He was married to Joan Endress from 1950until his death. Their marriage produced three daughters: Kelly Jean, Claudia King and Amanda Lee,all of whom survive him. Graves had six grandchildren.[citation needed]

Death

Graves died of a heart attack on March 14, 2010,four days prior to his 84th birthday. The actor had just returned from brunch with his wife and children, collapsing before he could enter the house. Although one of his daughters administered CPR, she could not revive him

Graves was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 1971 for his role as Jim Phelps in the series Mission: Impossible.He also received nominations for an Emmy Award and Golden Globe awards in other seasons of that show. Chapter Four ofThe Legacy

When I slip into the hotel, I don’t ask anyone about Jordan Paxton’s room number. I follow his scent from the staircase

and wait by his room. Jordan had been so shocked about my father’s friendship with Luis that he forgot his gun at our house. I intended to return it. Yet the way he thought of me made my skin crawl. Why does he liken me to my father so much? Why does my …disposition… appear as a curse?.

To be honest, I do not know what my disposition is. I keep asking myself, “Why me?” Why not Ali, or Hussein, or Hamza, or Zahra? And this is the first time I hear about hereditary shape-shifting. If there really is a “lycanthrope” gene, why are werewolves represented viciously biting and mutilating humans in literature?

Darkness. A transparent ambience. Hues of purple blend with orange and red. A silhouette of a man looms large in its midst. He speaks and the echo reverberates against an enclosed space, “Fati!” A weaker echo follows, uttered by a little girl, “Papa!” The large man swoops down and embraces the little girl. He pats her head. Chocolate brown hair with ochre highlights, gathered and held by a golden hair bobble. One pat. Two pats. Three… She doesn’t feel the third. She looks up.

“Papa?” The echo is somber. “Papa?” The silhouette is gone. A tear drop slides down a forlorn face. It slides down the chin and falls into the abyss.

I shake my head. Paxton is downstairs in the lobby. I suddenly sense his awareness. I wet my lips and concentrate. I feel my way through crevasses, one step at a time, until I find a cerebral blockade. This is not a static barricade. This blockade is violently vibrant. It is a hurricane composed of images, scenes, floating phrases and broken memories, like the flotsam and jetsam of a wreckage, swirling in the eye of a cyclone, preventing my entry. Should I persist? What am I risking? Is it merely submersion? Or is it death as well? He is aware. He is aware and he avoids me. I sigh and slip out.

I weigh the gun on my palm. It is the first gun I ever touched. Even during the invasion I never touched any weapons. An overpowering gray. The polluted clouds form the phrase “menace” in the sky before it breaks. Every letter falls to the ground with a loud thud!

Screams crackle in the distance and rival the thunder. A stout woman is huddled in the corner of the house hugging an adolescent to her bosom. “Don’t go.” “I have to.” “Don’t go.” “I’ll be right back.” “Don’t go.” “I think I saw someone.” The phrases collide, merging and mixing with one another. A third woman heads to the door, her abaya flapping behind her. She stretches her arm; her fingers grope the door handle. Click.

I blink the memory away. My chest rises heavily. I rest the back of my head against the wall and try with Paxton again. This time, I catch him unawares. He’s perturbed. He’s on the phone with a woman. His mental vessel is wide open. I wade through effortlessly, glancing left and right, where images and thoughts are rooted, ripe and ready for easy picking. At least this is what I think I am doing until I notice the moving current. It is not I who chooses willingly what to examine, but the current that carries me from one place to another.

When he mentions my father I snap my teeth inadvertently. A heavy rain of memories washes over me. I do not lose myself in a memory for their succession is rapid. One replaces the other like droplets in the rain. But every one of them touches me and leaves me wet. My body ripples with anger. Paxton. I think the name with loathing. I always knew that my father had been pursued by a Paxton. This is why he left us in 1983. I had been ten. My mother grew desolate. My sister… The loud wail of a siren blasts through the air and the sky turns black. The nothingness is so palpable. It oozes like tar. It suffocates. I fumble for my sister. Zahra!

No! I snap out of the memory. Not now. Not now! I hear the elevator door and I act without thinking. I level the gun and aim at the sliding door. I cock the gun, my heart races. I will not let this Paxton get away. Not this time! Not after everything that has happened! I might have growled. The doors slide apart.

I swallow. My index finger quivers on the trigger. Had I seen fear, maybe I would have let the bullet rip into the air. Fear is not the expression that coats the American’s face. Paxton stands dumbfounded, not afraid. He takes one step forward and stops when I snarl. The fool smiles and I get the urge to rip his lips apart.

“Fatma?” He says with his awkward tongue.

“Shut up or I’ll kill you!”

“So why don’t you?”

I apply more pressure on the trigger. I narrow my eyes. I expose my teeth. And I chicken out.

He chuckles under his breath and takes regular steps in my direction. He has linked with me.

Let’s talk inside.

Never.

Why are you always like that?

Like what?

He slips his key in the keyhole and unlocks the door. “After you.”

“Over my dead body,” I say.

His genuine smile touches his eyes and he enters before me. I dawdle in the hallway for a couple of moments before following suit.

My emotions are a yoyo. One second they rage like a storm in an ocean, and the next they become placid, calm and still. This in turn frustrates me. I have always been able to control my emotions. When my father left us, I didn’t cry. I hopped into my mother’s shoes as she regressed to a solitary lifestyle. I mothered my younger sister, tended to my older brothers’ needs and befriended my twin brother. The invasion had been shocking. It made me determined rather than depressed. I worked with my siblings in their orchestrated resistance. I didn’t even cry when Zahra was taken as a prisoner of war.

“Fatma,” begins Jordan when I finally enter his hotel room. “New rule.”

“You can trust me.” As he says this he advances and I lash out. I don’t know what I was thinking. Reflex. I extend my arm and slash his face with all my might. Four crimson lines materialize from his left ear to his lips.

His cries out and covers the burning excisions with his right palm.

“I’m sorry…” I breathe, appalled by my action.

“You’re nuts! You know that? First you punch me. Now you cut me. I can only expect you to be the death of me.”

I drop his gun by his feet and abhor my tempestuous emotions. My eyes burn and I feel them moisten. Rivulets of shame trickle down my face.

“What’s happening to me?” I weep on my knees, supported by the ground, betrayed by my genetics. “I’m… turning… into a monster…”

This is the last person I wanted to confront. He had been nothing but malevolent toward my family. He’d chased and prosecuted my father for decades. And yet, here I sit, on my knees like a beggar, losing buckets of tears and asking for explanations. Humiliation has never been so gross.

He kicks the golden gun with his feet away from me and stands in silence. I cannot help what I feel. I cannot control my fluctuating emotions. Like severe pre-menstruation or hormones during a pregnancy, I am viewed as a hysterical female, lacking in mental efficiency.

You’re not hysterical says a voice in the back of my head.

I thought we weren’t going to invade one another’s privacy…

This is an exception. He pointed at his facial scar. I needed to know what was going on in your mind.

Apparently nothing…

Quite the opposite actually. He hesitates to approach me. May I help you up?

No. I pull myself together and push myself off the ground.

He wears a proud smile. I’ve never met anyone more profound.

“You can stop that and get out of my mind.”

“Your wish is my command,” he bows ostentatiously.

“Do you…do you know what is happening to me?”

Jordan Paxton sits on his bed. “I’m no expert. I just read a few books, that’s all.” We both stayed clear from mentioning my father. “I know about ingrainment.”

“It’s the mind reading thing, right? How does that happen?”

“It’s a werewolf thing. It happens only once. When a werewolf ingrains upon someone, the union endures everything apart from death. It involves reading thoughts, memories, images as well as experiencing emotions.”

“Can I control you?”

His smile is mischievous. “What would you have me do?”

“Just answer the question!” I snap.

“Ha! Ha! Well, it’s an interesting question, I’ll give you that. But I do not know the answer. Maybe you can, maybe you cannot.”

Though I asked the question, embarrassment heats my cheeks. When I think of changing the topic my eyes fall onto his wretched scar.

“What about…” Guilt prevents me from forming the words.

He caresses his left cheek. “I don’t know, really, but I think, I don’t know, maybe like puberty or something. Since you’re metamorphosing, maybe your hormones need a while to stabilize.” I guess he saw horror in my eyes because when he next spoke, his words were tinted with humor. “How does it feel to be a paranormal teenager?”

I throw the closest thing at him. Lucky for him it was just a tissue box.

“Easy!”

“Shut up.”

“There is something you should know though. You’ve got the gene. So you are a werewolf by birth.”

“I wasn’t always like this!” I protest.

“That’s not what I meant. The lycanthrope gene exists from birth and lies dormant. External events activate the gene. When did your—“

“Invasion.”

“Oh. That makes sense. Anyhow this is what I wanted you to know. There are two kinds of werewolves: those that are born with this gene and those that are bitten.”

“Bitten?” So the mutilation and literary brutality is real after all.

“Yes. When a hereditary werewolf bites humans, he—or ‘she’” he gestures in my direction, “might succeed into making other werewolves. When the bitten ones bite humans, however, they only succeed in killing, not transforming.”

“Oh…”

“And you can have a family. A bitten werewolf cannot.”

“A family of werewolves…” I say woefully.

“Not if they live in tranquility.”

An image flashes before me and vanishes almost instantly. “Is that why he returned?” I mumble.

“Who?”

“My father.” As soon as the words come out I regret them. Jordan’s demeanor changes and the air thickens. The awkward silence floats heavily around us.

“Your father…returned?”

I try to penetrate his body and fail. He has reconstructed his barricades. I wonder why he does not wish me to intrude. Does he desire to harm my father?

His eyes dilate and I capture his line of sight. His gun. What happens next occurs simultaneously. He lunges on the floor, arms extended, ready to hold his gun and I pounce upon him, knocking him, rolling with him backward and losing my scarf in the process. ي الثالث من حيث املساحة في العالم بعد روسيا وكندا. تشترك الصني هفي حدودها مع 14 دولة : أفغانستان، بوتان، ميامنار، الهند، كازاخستان،

قرغيزستان، الوس، منغوليا، النيبال، كوريا الشمالية، باكستان، روسيا، طاجكستان وفييتنام. بعدد سكان أكثر من 1،321،851،888نسمة تعداد عام

2007، تعتبر الصني البلد األكثر سكانا في العالم اليوم

تعتبر جزيرة تايوان من طرف “جمهورية الصني الشعبية” جزءا من البالد الصينية، وتشهد العالقة بني تايوان والصني شدا وجذبا، إال أن االجتاه العام يسير نحو مزيد من التكامل االقتصادي والتواصل الشعبي في أفق الوصول إلى حل متفق عليه. مع العلم ان سكان تايوان وسكان الصني ال خالف بينهم على ان تايوان هى احدى مقاطعات الصني ولكن اخلالف الرئيسي هو على

العاصمة حيث يعترف الشيوعيون ان العاصمة بكني ولكن التايوانيون يعترفون ب ناجنني عاصمة الصني قبل ثورة الشيوعيون عام 1949 واخلالف الثاني

هو نظام احلكم واحلكومة الشرعية حكومة تايوان الذين جلئو إلى جزيرة تايوان بعد الثورة أو احلكومة املركزية احلالية في بكني.

احلاضر، يشكل حوالي 3000 مقطع صيني ٪99 من نسبة املقاطع الصينية املكتوبة املتكررة. ومن بني ال�55 أقلية قومية قوميتا هوي املانتشو تستخدمان اللغة الهانية،

بينما تستخدم كل من ال�53 قومية األخرى لغتها اخلاصة. ول�21 أقلية قومية لغتها املكتوبة. يتم تدريس اللغات القومية في املدارس واملناطق التي تسكنها هذه

األقليات.

املعتقدات الدينية

دخلت البوذية الصني في القرن األول امليالدي تقريبا، وبدأت تنتشر منذ القرن الرابع، وأصبحت تدريجيا الدين األوسع تأثيرا في الصني. والبوذية التبتية اجلزء

من الديانة البوذية، وتنتشر في التبت ومنغوليا الداخلية بصورة رئيسية. وفي الوقت احلاضر، يبلغ عدد املعابد البوذية في عموم الصني أكثر من 13 ألف معبد. دخل

اإلسالم عند اإلسيوان وازداد اإلسالم ازدهاراعظيما بواسطة التجار املسلمني ولم تفتح الصني عسكريا وال حربيا وامنا بواسطة التعامل التجاري واخالق

التجار املسلمني القدامى. وحاليا يبلغ عدد املساجد في الصني أكثر من 30 ألف مسجد. ودخلت الكاثوليكية لللصني منذ القرن السابع امليالدي تدريجيا. وبدأت

البروتستانتية تنتقل إلى الصني بحلول القرن التاسع عشر. وفي الصني اليوم أكثر من 4600 كنيسة وقاعة للكاثوليكية، و12 ألف كنيسة للبروتستانتية، وأكثر من 25

ألف مكان بسيط )جتمع صغير( ملزاولة النشاطات الدينية. وتشكلت الطاوية في القرن الثاني امليالدي، وهي تتخذ الو-تسه ممثل املدرسة الفكرية الطاوية في فترة

الربيع واخلريف مؤسسا لها، وكتابه ))األخالق(( كتابها املقدس الرئيسي. وفي الصني أكثر من 1500 معبد طاوي.

لكل من البوذية واإلسالم الكاثوليكية البروتستانتية أتباع في الصني. باإلضافة إلى ذلك، في الصني أديان خاصة بها مثل الطاوية والشامانية واألرثوذكسية ودونغبا.

فهناك عشر قوميات تدين باإلسالم، وهي هوي والويغور والقازاق والقرغيز والتتار

واألوزبك والطاجيك ودونغشيانغ وساالر وباوآن وتدين قومية التبت ومنغوليا ولوبا ومنبا وتو ويويقو بالبوذية التبتية )تدعى أيضا الالمية(. وتدين قومية داي وبوالنغ ودآنغ ببوذية هينايانا )املركبة الصغيرة(. ومعظم أبناء قومية مياو وياو ويي يدينون

اجلغرافية

تقع جمهورية الصني الشعبية في اجلزء الشرقي من قارة آسيا، وعلى الساحل الغربي من احمليط الهادي. تبلغ مساحتها 6ر9 مليون كيلومتر مربع، وهي بذلك

ثالث بلدان العالم مساحة.

تبدأ حدود الصني في أقصي الشمال من اخلط املركزي لنهر هيلونغ شمال بلدة موخه )خط عرض 30ر53 درجة شماال(، أما حدودها في أقصي اجلنوب فهي

حيد تسنغمو البحري من طرف جزر نانشا اجلنوبي )خط عرض 4 درجات شماال(، ومتتد أكثر من 49 درجة من خط العرض. في الشرق متتد من ملتقى نهر هيلونغ ونهر ووسولي )خط طول 135،5 درجة شرقا(، وأقصاها في الغرب هي هضبة

البامير )خط طول 73،40 درجة شرقا(، ومتتد أكثر من 60 درجة من خط الطول. واملسافة من كل اجلنوب إلى الشمال ومن الشرق إلى الغرب أكثر من 5000

كيلومتر.

متتد حدود الصني البرية 800ر22 كيلومتر، ويبلغ طول سواحل الصني حوالي 18 ألف كيلومتر. أراضي سواحلها منبسطة وعلى هذه السواحل موانئ ممتازة كثيرة

ومعظمها مفتوح طول السنة. يحيط بالبر الصيني بحر بوهاي والبحر األصفر وبحر الصني الشرقي وبحر الصني اجلنوبي في الشرق واجلنوب. وتبلغ املساحة البحرية

الصينية 73ر4 مليون كيلومتر مربع. وبحر بوهاي هو بحر داخلي صيني، أما البحر األصفر وبحر الصني الشرقي وبحر الصني اجلنوبي فهي على أطراف احمليط

الهادي.

وتتناثر في مناطق الصني البحرية 5400 جزيرة، أكبرها جزيرة تايوان ومساحتها 36 ألف ميل مربع. وتليها جزيرة هاينان ومساحتها 34 ألف كيلومتر مربع. وتقع

جزيرة دياويوي وجزيرة تشيوي شمال جزيرة تايوان الشرقي في أقصى شرق الصني. وينتشر على بحر الصني اجلنوبي عدد كبير من اجلزر الكبيرة والصغيرة

واحليود البحرية واجلزر الرملية يطلق عليها جزر بحر الصني اجلنوبي، وهي مجموعة جزر تقع في أقصى جنوب الصني وتعرف حسب اختالف مواقعها بجزر

دونغشا وجزر شيشا وجزر تشونغشا وجزر نانشا.

سكان

الصني أكثر دول العالم سكانا. وحتى نهاية عام 2007، بلغ عدد السكان اإلجمالي في الصني 1،321،851،888 نسمة )ما عدا سكان منطقة هونغ كونغ اإلدارية

اخلاصة ومنطقة ماكاو اإلدارية اخلاصة وتايوان(، وهذا العدد ميثل خمس سكان العالم تقريبا.

تعد نسبة الكثافة السكانية في الصني من أعلى النسب في العالم، ويبلغ متوسط كثافة السكان 134 نسمة/كيلومتر مربع. ولكن توزيع السكان ليس متوازنا: الكثافة

السكانية عالية في املناطق الساحلية الشرقية، إذ تتجاوز 400 نسمة/كيلومتر مربع. وفي مناطق وسط الصني تبلغ أكثر من 200 نسمة/كيلومتر مربع. وتعداد

السكان في هضاب املناطق الغربية قليل للغاية - أقل من 10 أفراد/كيلومتر مربع.

يتألف الشعب الصيني من 56 قومية مختلفة أكبرها قومية هان أو بلفظ اخر خان منها عشر قوميات تدين باإلسالم، وهي هوي والويغور والقازاق والقرغيز والتتار

واألوزبك والطاجيك ودونغشيانغ وساالر وباوآن قوميات أخرى

اجليش

في ظل وجود 2.5 مليون جندي في اخلدمة، فإن جيش التحرير الشعبي الصيني هو األكبر في العالم.يتكون اجليش الصيني من القوات البرية، و القوات البحرية،

والقوات اجلوية، وقوة نووية إستراتيجية. امليزانية الرسمية املعلنة جليش جمهورية الصني الشعبية للعام 2007 كانت 48 مليار دوالر أمريكي.

اللغة

واالستفادة من خبرات أساتذتي في املعهد.

من هم الذين دعموك أثناء كتابة القصة ؟ وهل القيت تشجيع من الوسط احمليط ؟

كونك طالب في املعهد العالي للفنون املسرحية، ما هو دور أساتذتك في تنمية موهبتك في الكتابة ؟

بالنسبة لدور أساتذتي في املعهد فقد قدموا لي ما هو مطلوب وأكثر مبا يخص مجال الكتابة املسرحية والتليفزيونية والسينمائية من خالل عرضهم لتجارب

الغربية والعربية وجتاربهم الشخصية وفي مادة التليفزيون لألستاذ راجح املطيري لم يبخل علي في تقدمي أي مالحظة أو نصيحة مبا يخص جانب الكتابة وقد قدمت له فيلم سينمائي قصير حمل عنوان الهدامة وذالك عندما كنت طالب في سنة ثانية

بسنة 2007 وأستطيع أن أقول أن املعهد أضاف لي جرعة كبيرة في موهبتي في الكتابة.

من هم الكتاب الذين تأثرت بهم في كتاباتك ؟

كثر وأوله الكاتب والروائي القدير مبارك بن شافي صاحب رواية حديث الترللي التي أعطتني دفعه معنوية لدخول في مجال الكتابة وقد قدم لي عدد من النصائح املتعلقة في مجال الكتابة وثانيا الكاتب االجنليزي ويليم شكسبير والكاتب الفرنسي

صامويل بكيت صاحب مسرح العبث والكاتب املصري مصطفى محمود صاحب كتاب رحلتي من الشك إلى اإلمياني وباإلضافة إلى الكاتبة واإلعالمية أحالم

مستغامني.

ما هو الهدف الذي تطمح للوصول إليه ؟

هدفي أن أوصل الصورة احلقيقية للمجتمع الكويتي وأبني أن املجتمع الكويتي غني ثقافيا وأدبيا وفنيا وفي جعبته شباب طموح ال يعرف الصعاب ويسعى جاهدا نحو التميز واإلبداع وهدفي األخر هو أن أقدم الرسالة التي أطمح إليه وتصل إلى

القراء بالشكل الصحيح.

مجال الكتابة في الوقت احلالي مليء باألقالم الشبابية أين جتد نفسك ؟

أجد نفسي في بداية البداية في هذا املجال وكثرة األقالم الشبابية شيء جدا رائع ألن هذا يبني أن الشباب الكويتي شباب قادر على دخول هذا املجال ويبدع ويقنع

فيه.

ما هو جديدك؟

جديدي إن شاء الله أستعد لكتابة قصتي الدرامية ستحمل عنوان في فرجينيا 999 ستقع أحداثها ما بني الكويت ووالية فرجينيا األمريكية والعراق وأفغانستان

وسأطرح من خاللها عدد من القضايا واملواضيع أبرزها األزمة االقتصادية العاملية وقضايا اإلرهاب وعدد من القضايا االجتماعية التي تخص املجتمع الكويتي وسترى

النور قريبا.

كيف عيناك ترسم املستقبل ؟

أرى املستقبل مبشر باخلير بإذن الله ألن لم تعد هناك صعوبات كثير تعرقل مسيرة الشباب الكويتيني فالدعم موجود وليس بالضرورة الدعم املادي وأقصد الدعم املعنوي وثانيا أصبحت هناك سهوله في التواصل مع العالم عن طريق الوسائل

االلكترونية.

في بداية عرفنا مبحمد الكندري ؟

في البداية أحب أن أشكركم على هذه االستضافة، محمد الكندري شاب كويتي طموح يعشق مجال الكتابة والعمل اإلعالمي ككل. دخلت في مجال الكتابة في عام 2007 وكتبت عدد من املسرحيات القصيرة وقدمتها ألساتذتي في املعهد ومؤخرا

أصدرت قصة درامية حملت عنوان ليالي الشتاء وفق سلسلة حتمل عنوان واقع من وحي اخليال وهذه السلسلة سأتبعها في كل قصة سأصدرها مستقبال.

كيف جاءت فكرة قصة ليالي الشتاء ؟

عوامل عديدة ساهمت في قدوم فكرة كتابتي لقصة ليالي الشتاء أوال عامل الصدفة في حتصيل األفكار املطروحة في القصة إضافة إلى استقائي ملواقف

صادفتها في حياتي وترجمتها إلى شخصيات وأحداث نراها في كل زمان ومكان ولكن ستقدم من وحي اخليال بحيث جتدون أن األحداث حقيقية ولكن الشخصيات خيالية . وتطرقت فيها عن قصة اجتماعية رومانسية باإلضافة إلى ملسات كوميدية

تعتمد على كوميديا املوقف وتدور أحداث القصة داخل املجتمع الكويتي ما بني حصة عبد الله وصقر املجبر التي جتمعها قصة حب تكون فيها العديد من املواقف

اجلميلة واحلزينة إلى جانب عامل الصدفة التي كان لها دور فعال في حتريك أحداث منذ بدايتها حتى النهاية واخترت فصل الشتاء ألنه من أروع فصول السنة.

لوحظ بان احلوار قدم باللهجة الكويتية وعلى شكل مسلسل أكثر من أن يكون شكل قصة ملاذا ؟

أنا أنتمي إلى املجتمع الكويتي الثري في عاداته وتقاليدية األصيلة والتي أقدمها بصورة الصحيحة ومن أروع ما فيه اللهجة باإلضافة أني فضلت أن أقدم عمل

يحاكي املجتمع الكويتي ككل في اللهجة وفي العادات والتقاليد وفي البداية قيل لي أني إذا قدمت القصة باللهجة الكويتية فلن تلقى صدى أو قبول ولكن ولله احلمد القت صدى ممتاز ، وأما بالنسبة لتقدميي للقصة على شكل مسلسل ففضلت أن

أقدم شكل جديد ألسلوب القصص املقروءة بحيث عندما يتم قراءة القصة كأن القارئ يرى الشخصيات واألحداث واحلمد لله استطعت أن أوصل هذه الفكرة إلى

القراء.

الشخصيات املوجودة في القصة هل هي شخصيات حقيقية ؟

ليست حقيقية ولكن ال أنكر وجود هذه الشخصيات واألحداث في احلياة اليومية ألن هناك بعض املواقف احلقيقية وضعتها في القصة وهذا من خالل التماسي

لقصص وأحداث صادفتها في حياتي سواء هنا في الكويت أو خارجها فاحلياة مليئة في املواقف اجلميلة واحلزينة وهذا سر جمالها.

من أين تستوحي املواضيع التي تكتب بها قصصك ؟

استوحيت املواضيع في قصتي الدرامية ليالي الشتاء من املجتمع الكويتي نفسه وقدمتها بالشكل الصحيح والغير مبالغ فيه نهائيا، والقصة هي عباره عن مواضيع

تخص الشباب والشابات في املجتمع الكويتي.

انتقدت بأنك مقل في الصور اجلمالية في رواية القصة وهي تعتبر غذاء للروح فما هو ردك على ذلك ؟

هذا صحيح مت انتقادي في هذا اجلانب ولكن ال أنكر أني وضعت صور جمالية بشكل متوسط في القصة والشخصية الرئيسية حصة عبد الله قدمت من خاللها

عدد من الصور اجلمالية بحيث كانت شخصية رومانسية وكاتبة أشعار نثرية وقدمت عدد من األشعار النثرية األولى حملت عنوان صدمة وصدفة والثانية

موعدي مع الشتاء وطلب مني أن أكثر في القصص القادمة من األشعار النثرية.

ما هي االنتقادات التي تعرضت لها ؟

ولله احلمد كانت االنتقادات بشكل موضوعي وبناء وكل نقد قدم لي كان في مصلحة القصة ورمبا أكثر جانب أنتقد هي كثرة الصدف فيها وأسماء الشخصيات

املكررة مثل حصة عبد الله وحصة صقر وصقر جاسم وصقر خالد وال أقول أني قدمت عمل قصصي متكامل فالبد من وجود عثرات وأخطاء.

ما صعوبات التي واجهتك خالل كتابة القصة ؟ وكيف واجهت تلك الصعوبات ؟

الصعوبات كانت في اختياري للمواضيع التي سأضعها في القصة وطريقة ربط األحداث بشكل سببي متسلسل إلى جانب صعوبة ربط احلوارات بني الشخصيات

عمرو بن عنبسة رضي الله عنه قال، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، إن الله تعالى يقول:

حقت محبتي للذين يتصادقون من أجلي وحقت محبتي للذين يتناصرون من أجلي وال من مؤمن وال مؤمنة يقدم لله ثالثة أوالد من صلبه لم يبلغوا احلنث إال أدخله

الله اجلنة بفضل رحمته إياهم.

رواه الطبراني في األوسط والصغير عن عمرو بن عنبسة.

وأمتنى أن نكون بهذا العمل البسيط قد بلغنا آية عن حبيبنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم. ولعل هذا العمل يأتي يوم القيامة شفيعا لنا وللقائمني على هذه املجلة.

I pass by with my friends pretending I didn’t see himBy playing around with my BB

Now I’m back after my friends’ ride have comeI pass by again, with the same technique

But, this time I hear my nameI giggle and turn my face toward him

Still fiddling around with my BBAs if, he didn’t find out I was trying to avoid him

He is studying for his finalHe invites me to sit

Without out hesitation I pull out a chair and sitRight away, laughing and talking

It wasn’t me!I didn’t have restrictions to what I’m saying or doing

I was free flowingJoking about everything and anythingI was a high mood for some reason

He now decides to forget about studyingWhen I’m like a butterfly around him

He feels more comfortable being around me more than beforeWe walk out side

Cold, dark and dim lightsWhat an atmosphere!

Exchanging secrets, exchanging giggles, exchanging pokes
