PROJECT OVERVIEW
The State of Energy Report and the State of Green Economy Report are collaborative platforms to enable a knowledge economy that would spur growth of sustainable economic development. Both reports are developed and executed with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in particular with the UAE country office around the UNDP Resident Representative and the US-based Energy and Climate team. As multi-stakeholder publications, they capture the replicable and scalable success stories in the UAE aiming to serve as a model for across the Arab States.
In thematic chapters, governmental entities and selected private companies present a comprehensive overview
and outlook. The State of Energy report features areas including energy legislation, clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and demand side management, transport and mobility and climate change. The Green Economy report has a stronger private sector focus and covers areas including smart cities and living, lifestyle and consumer choices, tourism, and finance and investments.
Experts and entity representatives, serving as a focal point for further questions from the reader, author the articles. The annual report is shared with the public as softcopy for download and in a printed format as magazines through conferences, events and the UN network. Dubai Carbon and UNDP will extend the concept across the GCC from 2015 onwards.
