Gas consumption is increasing and gas will play a key role in the future energy

supply of Switzerland (electricity, heating and mobility).

100 years of conventional exploration results are disappointing

(1 semi-commercial gas field, all gas - and oil - is currently imported).

Current exploration efforts for unconventional gas is picking up

(tight and shale gas in Permocarboniferous/Mesozoic).

There is a substantial potential of unconventional gas resources in Switzerland:

200-450 bcm (7-15 tcf)

To proove that these are economic reserves requires additional risk capital,

but also a well coordinated information/communication campaign by the industry

(environmental regulations, mining laws, canton/national)

It is our responisibility to allow and do this exploration for unconventional gas (oil)
