Stiff competition… India continues to lag behind its Asian counterparts such as China and Singapore, which witnessed tourist arrivals to the tune of 132 million and 14 million respectively in 2012. Rolling out the red carpet… According to tourism ministry sources, recent changes in tourist visa rules, including lifting the mandatory two-month gap between consecutive visits to the country and allowing visa-on-arrival for group visas, are likely to boost growth.
